Shelby County  vs.  Tates Creek (Girls)

Shelby County coach Mike Sowers started the following lineup: 5-10 So. Savannah Raizor, 5-10 So. MacKenzie Raizor, 5-10 Fr. Justus Martin, 5-6 Sr. Lynsey Nichols, and 5-2 So. Katie Hudgens.  Tates Creek coach Tina Winn countered with 5-8 Sr. Dominique Etling-Turner, 5-6 So. Haley Blackburn, 5-9 Sr. Katie Pippen, 5-5 Sr. Lexi Whaley, and 5-6 Sr. Oney Harrison.

Tates Creek led 31-30 at halftime and pulled away in the second half for a 72-55 victory over Shelby County.  Tates Creek scored 28 points off 19 Shelby County turnovers and recorded 15 steals.  Tates Creek shot 50% from the field including four of eight from the three point line.  The Lady Commodores connected on eight of 13 free throws and pulled down 34 rebounds.  Shelby County shot 39% from the field including zero of four from beyond the arc.  The Lady Rockets connected on 23 of 34 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored nine points off 15 Tates Creek turnovers.

Katie Pippen led Tates Creek with 26 points, five rebounds, and three steals.  Pippen was 12 of 16 from the field including one of one from beyond the arc and one of four from the free throw line.  Oney Harrison added 21 points, six assists, and nine steals.  Dominique Etling-Turner added 12 points.  Lexi Whaley dished out five assists.

5-10 Jr. Nikki Simmons led Shelby County with 16 points and five rebounds.  MacKenzie Raizor added 12 points including eight of 10 free throws and pulled down six rebounds.
