Week 14 In Review Playoffs Semifinals November 26, 2010

 

Friday November 26th

 

Class A Playoffs

 

Hazard 31  Lexington Christian Academy 30 – Hazard erased a 20-9 halftime deficit to defeat LCA 31-30.  Jon Combs threw a 17 yard touchdown pass to Jordan Olinger to pull within one; 30-29 with less than 30 seconds remaining on the clock.  Combs then scored on a two point conversion run for the victory.

Mayfield 38  Beechwood 14 – QB Luke Guhy passed for 245 yards to lead Mayfield to victory.

 

Class 2A Playoffs

 

Owensboro Catholic 61  Danville 42 – It was a battle of backs tonight as Owensboro Catholic’s Russell Hayden ran for 191 yards and five touchdowns and averaged 7.3 yards per carry for the victors.  Danville’s Patrick Bland scored five touchdowns and ran for  231 yards..

Newport Central Catholic 42  Corbin 8 – Chris Kelly ran for 163 yards including TD runs of 81 and 39 yards to lead the victors.

 

Class 3A Playoffs

 

Belfry 28  Somerset 23 – Belfry handed Somerset (13-1) their first loss of the season.

Central 35  Paducah Tilghman 18 – Anthony Wales scored three touchdowns including one on an interception return to lead the Yellowjackets to victory.

 

Class 4A Playoffs

 

Allen County-Scottsville 20  Western 16 – Brandon Boards ran for 171 yards including a touchdown late in the game for the victory.

Boyle County 25  Bell County 21 – Boyle County took advantage of four turnovers to hand Bell County (13-1) their first loss of the season.  Bell County’s Ben Madon threw touchdown passes of 18, 14, and 25 yards to Cody Davenport in the loss.

 

Class 5A Playoffs

 

Highlands 34  Harlan County 6 – QB Patrick Towles threw for 272 yards including TD passes of 43, 32, and 62 yards to lead the Bluebirds to victory.

Christian County  45  John Hardin  20

 

Class 6A Playoffs

 

Male 28  Scott County 12 – Male rolled up 255 yards and three touchdowns on the ground in the victory.

Trinity 28  Ryle 9 – Derek Bishop carried the ball 24 times for 171 yards including TD runs of 13, 41, and 2 yards to lead the Shamrocks to victory.
