Christian Academy of Louisville (25-5) vs. Mercy Academy (22-8) (Girls)
Mercy Academy finished the game on a 13-0 run to close the game and claim a 58-47 victory over Christian Academy of Louisville. Mercy’s defense resulted in 12 steals and 18 points scored on 20 Cal turnovers.
Mercy shot 42.6% from the field including two of 11 from the three point line. The Jaguars connected on 16 pf 19 free throws and pulled down 22 rebounds. CAL shot 41.7% from the field including four of 14 from beyond the arc. The Lady Centurions connected on 13 of 16 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored three points off eight Mercy turnovers.
5-9 Sr. Ellen Sholtes led Mercy with 16 points and four steals. Sholtes was five of seven from the field and six of six from the free throw line. 5-8 Jr. Juliann Miller added 14 points. 5-9 Sr. Therese Montano chipped in with 12 points and five rebounds. 5-8 Sr. Malisa Cruz recorded five points, eight rebounds, and five steals.
5-9 Fr. China Dow led CAL with 16 points and 10 rebounds. 6-2 Sr. Antonita Slaughter added 14 points and seven rebounds.
