A great many phrases come to mind describing this game, “up-and-down affair”, “frantic pace”, “offensive onslaught”, all apply as Team Elite defeated Team Future by a score of 152-134.  Defense took the night off, players were more interested in showcasing their offensive skills, but no one can deny - a good time was had by all and the fans were totally entertained. 

 

Mustapha Heron was named MVP for the Team Elite and scored 31 points and recorded four steals.  Mitch Lightfoot led the team in scoring with 32 points, with 27 points coming after intermission, and pulled down eight rebounds.  Andrew Jones recorded 21 points including three three point baskets.  Vance Jackson chipped in with 16 points, nine rebounds, and four steals.  Ike Anigbogu, JJ Caldwell, and James Banks reached double figures with 15, 12, and 10 points respectively.

 

Lonzo Ball was named MVP for Team Future and recorded 17 points, eight rebounds, and 15 assists.  Miles Bridges led the team in scoring with 25 points including three three point baskets.  Rawle Alkins added 20 points and six rebounds.  Dewan Huell chipped in with 15 points.  TJ Leaf recorded 14 points and 10 rebounds.  Sam Cunliffe, Troy Baxter, and Yoeli Childs also reached double figures with 12, 12, and 10 points respectively.

 

Team Future (134) – Bridges 25, Alkins 20, Ball 17, Cunliffe 12, Baxter 12, Howard 3, Childs 10, Parker 6, Leaf 14, Huell 15.

 

Team Elite (152) – Heron 31, Caldwell 12, Jackson 16, Ferguson 2, Banks 10, Jones 21, Winston 8, Bolden 4, Anigbogu 15, Lightfoot 32.

 

Terrance Ferguson won the dunk contest and Markus Howard won the three point shooting contest.

 

This game was created in 2011 with the goal of having a national all-star game on the West Coast and the organizers hit the mark of providing talent and entertainment at a high level.
