Sacred Heart Academy vs. Seneca (Girls)

 

Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir started the following lineup: 5-11 So. Grace Berger, 5-7 So. Kia Sivils, 5-10 Sr. Lydia Taylor, 5-4 Fr. Ashlee Harris, and 5-5 So. Kiki Samsel.  Seneca coach Latasha Patterson countered with 5-11 Jr. Ashanti Starks, 5-10 Fr. Dai Jas Trotter, 5-11 Jr. Alexis White, 5-1 Sr. Terica Motley, and 5-8 Sr. Nautica Caldwell.

 

Sacred Heart Academy defeated Seneca by a score of 75-7.  Sacred Heart played 14 players with 13 entering the scoring column.  Ten players logged more than 10:40 of playing time.  Sacred Heart shot 48.4% from the field including five of 12 from the three point line.  The Valkyries connected on 10 of 15 free throws, pulled down 51 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 24 Seneca turnovers.  Seneca shot 7.5% from the field including zero of six from beyond the arc.  The Lady Redhawks connected on one of three free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored two points off eight Sacred Heart turnovers.

 

5-9 So. Cierra Scott led Sacred Heart with 16 points and five rebounds.  Kiki Samsel and Kia Sivils each scored 10 points.  5-9 So. Natalie Fichter added seven points and six rebounds.  Grace Berger recorded five points, eight rebounds, and nine assists.  Lydia Taylor chipped in with six points, four rebounds, and two blocked shots.

 

Terica Motley, Ashanti Starks, and 5-7 Fr. Cierra Riggs led Seneca with two points each.

Atherton vs. Waggener (Girls)

 

Atherton coach Nicki Dewitt started the following lineup: 5-7 Fr. Kaylynn Thompson, 5-7 Sr. Corrine Haeberlin, 5-10 Sr. Diamond White, 5-3 Sr. Summer Young, and 5-6 So. Sarah Overley.  Waggener coach Kevin Glenn countered with 5-11 Sr. Destiny Morgan, 5-8 Sr. Tomia Jones, 6-0 Jr. Tiara Biermacher, 5-4 So. Nejia Elliott, and 5-7 Sr. Davianna Ruff.

 

Waggener outscored Atherton 20-8 in the third quarter on their way to a close 58-55 victory.  The score was tied nine times and there were nine lead changes in the game.  Waggener shot 29.6% from the field including two of 16 from the three point line.  The Lady Wildcats connected on 14 of 22 free throws, pulled down 56 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 22 Atherton turnovers.  Atherton shot 29.2% from the field including five of 25 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Rebels connected on 12 of 26 free throws, pulled down 53 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 19 Waggener turnovers.

 

Nejia Elliott led Waggener with 22 points, six rebounds, and three steals.  Tiara Biermacher added 14 points and 10 rebounds.  Davianna Ruff recorded 11 points, four rebounds, six assists, and two steals.  Destiny Morgan pulled down 11 rebounds and recorded five steals.

 

Sarah Overley led Atherton with 20 points, six rebounds, and five assists.  5-8 So. Caitlyn Taylor added 19 points and 12 rebounds.  Diamond White recorded eight points, 18 rebounds, and two steals.

Atherton vs. Trinity (Boys)

 

Atherton coach Mark Tudor started the following lineup: 6-0 Jr. Flynn Calnon, 6-0 Sr. Darren Davidson, 6-3 Sr. Brent Bender, 5-8 Jr. Quinton Hayden, and 5-10 So. Keion Bentley.  Trinity coach Mike Szabo countered with 6-2 Jr. David Burton, 6-2 Jr. Juan Harris, 6-3 Fr. David Johnson, 5-9 Jr. Jacob King, and 6-1 Sr. Gabriel Schmitt.

 

Trinity defeated Atherton by a score of 71-36.  Trinity shot 52.9% from the field including five of 14 from the three point line.  The Shamrocks connected on 12 of 19 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 30 points off 20 Atherton turnovers.  Atherton shot 39.4% from the field including two of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Rebels connected on eight of 11 free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored four points off 12 Trinity turnovers.

 

6-6 Sr. Christian Terry led Trinity with 10 points and five rebounds.  David Burton and Jacob King scored 10 points each.  David Johnson added nine points, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Gabriel Schmitt and 5-10 Jr. Damon McClain chipped in with eight points each.

 

Darren Davidson led Atherton with 12 points, four rebounds, and three steals.  Brent Bender added 12 points and four rebounds.

Robert Walker.  Waggener coach Bryan O’Neill Sr. countered with 6-6 Sr. Jaalam Hill, 6-5 Sr. Kevin Kirby, 6-8 Sr. Nicholas Kratholm, 5-9 Sr. Isiah Knight, and 6-0 Sr. Jaquan Hendricks.

 

Waggener defeated Seneca by a score of 67-45.  Waggener shot 53.2% from the field including five of nine from the three point line.  The Wildcats connected on 12 of 20 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 37 points off 24 Seneca turnovers.  Seneca shot 41.3% from the field including two of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Redhawks connected on five of nine free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 20 Waggener turnovers.

 

Jaalam Hill led Waggener with 14 points, five rebounds, and four steals.  Isiah Knight added 11 points and eight assists.  6-2 Jr. Jacquess Hobbs recorded 11 points including three three point baskets.  Nicholas Kratholm chipped in with nine points and five rebounds.

 

Richard Ninamou led Seneca with 13 points, four rebounds, and three assists.  6-4 Jr. Keyontez Leach added eight points and seven rebounds.  Charlie Cochran recorded seven points and five rebounds.

Waggener vs. Sacred Heart Academy (Girls) (Championship)

 

Waggener coach Kevin Glenn started the following lineup: 5-11 Sr. Destiny Morgan, 5-2 Sr. Selena Thurston, 6-0 Jr. Tiara Biermacher, 5-4 So. Nejia Elliott, and 5-7 Sr. Davianna Ruff.  Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir countered with 5-11 So. Grace Berger, 5-7 So. Kia Sivils, 5-10 Sr. Lydia Taylor, 5-4 Fr. Ashlee Harris, and 5-5 So. Kiki Samsel. 

 

Sacred Heart Academy raced out to a 31-4 first quarter lead on their way to a 79-32 victory over Waggener.  Sacred Heart shot 50.8% from the field including seven of 16 from the three point line.  The Valkyries connected on eight of 14 free throws, pulled down 52 rebounds, and scored 31 points off 15 Waggener turnovers.  Waggener shot 26% from the field including three of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Wildcats connected on three of four free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored two points off 11 Sacred Heart turnovers.

 

5-11 So. Elizabeth Gardner led Sacred Heart with 12 points, four rebounds, and three assists.  Grace Berger added 11 points and eight rebounds.  Lydia Taylor recorded 10 points and five rebounds.  Kiki Samsel chipped in with 10 points and three assists.  Ashlee Harris added nine points and six assists.  Kia Sivils also pulled down eight rebounds.

 

Nejia Elliott led Waggener with 17 points.  5-7 8th Grade  Kiarah Carney added five points.

Waggener vs. Trinity (Boys) (Championship)

 

Waggener coach Bryan O’Neill Sr. started the following lineup: 6-6 Sr. Jaalam Hill, 6-5 Sr. Kevin Kirby, 6-8 Sr. Nicholas Kratholm, 5-9 Sr. Isiah Knight, and 6-0 Sr. Jaquan Hendricks.  .  Trinity coach Mike Szabo countered with 6-2 Jr. David Burton, 6-2 Jr. Juan Harris, 6-3 Fr. David Johnson, 5-9 Jr. Jacob King, and 6-1 Sr. Gabriel Schmitt.

 

Gabriel Schmitt hit a 15 foot jumper in transition at the buzzer to give Trinity a 46-44 come-from-behind victory over Waggener.  The score was tied twice and there were seven lead changes in the game.  Trinity shot 39.5% from the field including three of 16 from the three point line.  The Shamrocks connected on 12of 22 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored three points off six Waggener turnovers.  Waggener shot 34.1% from the field including four of eight from beyond the arc.  The Wildcats connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 10 Trinity turnovers.

 

Gabriel Schmitt led Trinity with 19 points including five three point baskets and five rebounds.  Jacob King added 11 points including three three point baskets and five assists.  David Burton recorded eight points and five rebounds.

 

Isiah Knight led Waggener with 14 points and five rebounds.  Jaalam Hill added 11 points and eight rebounds.  6-4 Jr. Ethan Taylor recorded 11 points including three three point baskets.  Kevin Kirby pulled down nine rebounds.
