Do you believe in miracles?  OK, that may be a stretch but after losing to the Bell County Lady Cats by 20 and 33 points this season you would not have found many people betting on Corbin to claim the championship tonight.  However Coach Jennifer Parsons and the Lady Redhounds defeated Bell County by a score of 63-60 to claim the first regional title for the Lady Redhounds since 1982.  Corbin took a 57-46 lead with a little more than two minutes left in the game but the Lady Cats rallied with a vengeance and pulled within one; 61-60 with 10 seconds left on the clock.  Corbin’s Kayla Wilson nailed two free throws and Bell County star Soph Maci Morris  missed a three pointer and Corbin held on for the victory.

Corbin shot 46.3% from the field including six of 12 from the three point line.  Bell County shot 36.4% from the field including five of 20 from beyond the arc..

5-7 Jr. Kayla Wilson led Corbin with 21 points.  5-6 Jr. Miranda Wilson and 5-7 Jr. Sarah Ashley added 16 and 15 points respectively.

6-0 So. Maci Morris led Bell County with 27 points despite picking up her fourth foul late in the third quarter and some excellent defensive work by Corbin’s Jaclyn Jewell and Brooklyn Ashurst.  5-4 Jr. Morgan Garnett and 5-9 Fr. Kelli Smith added 13 and 12 points respectively.
