Lexington Christian Academy to host first annual Basketball Classic on January 4th, 2008.

Lexington, KY – August 7, 2007 – Lexington Christian Academy will host a one day Basketball Classic on Jan. 4, 2008.  This inaugural event will feature two University of Kentucky commitments.  Findlay Preparatory, from Henderson, Nevada will face off against Western Reserve Academy from Ohio in the opening game.  The second game will pit host Lexington Christian Academy against Rose Hill Christian out of Ashland, KY.  Tip-offs for both games are scheduled for 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. respectively.

Rose Hill Christian will feature UK commitment Dakotah Euton along with teammate Chad Jackson who has UK and Louisville listed in his top four schools.  Findlay Preparatory will feature UK commitment DeAndre Liggins, rated top 20 nationally, along with 6’8” power forward Clarence Trent who has UK listed as one of his top college choices.  Western Reserve Academy will counter Findlay Preparatory with 6’8” power forward Nate Kasper who recently committed to play for The Naval Academy.

Findlay Preparatory also has some close ties to Lexington; it is a member of The Meritas Family of Schools, where Danny Haney, former Athletic Director and Head Boy’s Basketball Coach at Lexington Catholic High School, is the Director of Athletics.
