Franklin County (1-2) vs. Rowan County (3-0)

Franklin County Coach Joey Thacker started the following lineup:  5-8 Jr. Finnja Ramcke, 5-8 8th grader Ashli Mayes, 5-9 So. Chelsea Craig, 5-6 Sr. Kathryn Clark, and 5-4 Jr. Ashley Decker.  Rowan County Coach Scott Tackett countered with 5-6 Sr. Stefanie Howard, 5-8 Sr. Cassidi Spurlock, 5-7 Sr. Nicole Barr, 5-7 Jr. Amber Riddle, and 5-5 Jr. Jennifer Brockman

Rowan County pulled away from Franklin County in the second half to earn an 80-58 victory.   The Lady Vikings have utilized a run-and-gun offense and a tenacious defense to overcome their overall lack of size.   Rowan County led 33-23 at halftime but managed to wear the Lady Flyers down in the second half for a convincing victory.  

Nicole Barr led four Lady Vikings in double figures with 20 points including 15 in the second half.  Cassidi Spurlock added 13 points.  Jennifer Brockman and 5-6 Jr. Caitlin Martin recorded 10 points each.  5-8 Jr. Shelby O'Nan and 5-8 So. Andrea Howard came off the bench to lead Franklin County with eight points each.  Kathryn Clark, Ashli Mayes, and 5-8 Fr. Lacinda Hack added seven, six, and six points respectively.

Fern Creek (4-0) vs. Henry Clay (2-1)

Fern Creek Coach Michelle Fries started the following lineup:  6-1 Sr. Monique Reed, 5-8 Fr. Holly Bernard, 6-2 Fr. Teonia McCune, 5-8 Sr. Sherrice Gaines, and 5-5 Sr. Ceondra Palmer.  Henry Clay Coach Scott Cromwell countered with 6-3 Jr. Annalee Abell, 5-11 Jr. Brittany Coles, 6-2 Sr. Gwen Rucker, 5-5 Sr. Alex Hamilton, and 5-5 Sr. Demetria Nichols

Henry Clay rallied from a 21-7 first quarter deficit to defeat Fern Creek 58-44.   Henry Clay started the game with a man-to-man defense and Monique Reed scored 15 first quarter points to lead Fern Creek to a 32-7 lead.   Henry Clay switched to a zone defense in the second quarter and cut the deficit to five, 25-20, at halftime.  

Henry Clay outscored Fern Creek 20-8 in the third quarter to take a 40-33 lead at the end of three quarters.   Henry Clay outscored Fern Creek 51-23 over the last three quarters.  

Gwen Rucker led Henry Clay with 19 points including 10 in the final quarter.  Brittany Coles recorded 15 points including three three point baskets.  5-5 Sr. Raven Price added 11 points.  Monique Reed led Fern Creek with 30 points and nine rebounds.  Sherrice Gaines added 10 points.

Montgomery County Coach Janie Robinson started the following lineup:  5-11 Jr. Kayla Webb, 5-11 Jr. Elizabeth Prewitt, 6-0 Jr. Brooke Colliver, 5-7 Jr. Mackenzie Lee, and 5-8 Sr. Maggie Prewitt.  Paul Dunbar Coach Mike Sowers countered with 6-0 So. Ebony Rowe, 5-7 Sr. Pilar Walker, 6-1 Sr. Chantelle Pressley, 5-7 Sr. Chelsey Johnson, and 5-5 Sr. Megan LaRue

5-7 Sr. Cameron Howard stole the ball and scored a layup in the final minute of overtime to give Dunbar a 51-50 victory over Montgomery County.   Montgomery County had a shot at the buzzer for the win blocked by Ebony Rowe .   Montgomery County led 40-28 early in the fourth quarter but Dunbar rallied to tie the score at 47-47 and force overtime.  

Ebony Rowe led Paul Dunbar with 11 points, 14 rebounds, seven blocks, and six steals.  Cameron Howard recorded 10 points.  Pilar Walker and Chantelle Pressley added eight points each.  Mackenzie Lee led Montgomery County with 13 points 11 of them in the first half.  Elizabeth Prewitt, Kayla Webb, and Maggie Prewitt added nine, eight, and eight points respectively.

Powell County (2-0) vs. Bryan Station (2-1)

Powell County Coach Ken Jones started the following lineup:  5-9 So. Kendra McFarland, 5-7 So. Stevie Rogers, 5-4 Sr. Courtney Jones, 5-6 Sr. Ashley Lacy, and 5-5 Jr. Shelby Barnett.  Bryan Station Coach Karra Jackson countered with 5-9 So. Nealy Williams, 5-11 So. Alesha Prince, 5-11 Sr. Ciera Jackson, 5-7 Jr. Monique Collier, and 5-6 So. Mikyla Mosby

Powell County led 41-38 after three quarters but Bryan Station rallied in the final quarter to earn a 55-48 victory.   5-3 Fr. Carrington Caise led the Lady Defenders comeback with eight fourth quarter points.  

6-0 Fr. Amber Crumbie led a balanced Bryan Station attack with 11 points.  Mikyla Mosby added 10 points.  Carrington Caise, Nealy Williams, and Alesha Prince chipped in with eight, seven, and seven points respectively.   Ashley Lacy led Powell County with 15 points.  Courtney Jones, Shelby Barnett, and Stevie Rogers scored 10 points each.
