Woodford County (17-4) at Bryan Station (8-8)

Woodford County coach Jay Lucas started the following lineup:  5-7 So. Amber Penny, 5-7 Jr. Beth Nunnelley, 5-11 Sr. Blythe Brown, 5-7 So. Brittany Henderlight, and 5-7 7th grade Katy Cooke.  Bryan Station coach Jackie Williams countered with 5-9 Jr. Brittney Clark, 5-6 Fr. LaKrista Clark, 6-3 So. Crystal Leach, 5-7 So. Bradli Stinson, and 5-7 So. Carley Blankenship.

Bryan Station captured a hard-earned 46-41 victory over Woodford County tonight.  Woodford County got off to a fast start and took a 17-9 lead after one quarter of play.  Woodford County took a 29-22 lead at halftime but Bryan Station, fueled by an 8-0 run in the third quarter, took a 35-33 lead at the end of three quarters.  A combination of good Bryan Station defense and Woodford County going cold from the field allowed the Lady Defenders to outscore the Lady Yellowjackets 13-4 in the third period.

Woodford County edged ahead 39-38 in the final period but Crystal Leach scored a three point play the old fashioned (field goal and free throw) to take a 41-39 lead.  LaKrista Clark hit five free throws down the stretch to allow Bryan Station to claim the victory.  Woodford County was hampered tonight by the absence of high-scoring 5-9 Jr. Destiny Mattingly due to an injury.

The victors were led tonight by Bradli Stinson with 16 points.  Brittney Clark added 11 points and pulled down 12 rebounds.  LaKrista Clark added nine points and Crystal Leach pulled down 10 rebounds.  Amber Penny and Katy Cooke led Woodford County with eight points each.  Beth Nunnelley added seven points.
