PARTICIPATING TEAMS

Clarksville

The Clarksville Lady Generals are coached by Troy Mitchell and compiled a 13-11 record last season.  They lost three key players to graduation including their numbers two and three leading scorers.  The Lady Generals return six players who logged quality varsity minutes last season.  6-2 Sr. Candace Bain has given a verbal agreement to play at Butler University and she averaged 19.5 ppg and 9.5 rpg last season.  Other returning players expected to contribute include Sr. Liz Cox (3.8 ppg), Jr. Kaci Bain (3.7 ppg), Jr. Meagan Appleby (6.2 ppg), So. Kristen Martin (4.1 ppg), and So. Liz Carey (3.6 ppg).

Austin

(Additional Info to be added later.)

Shawe Memorial

(Additional Info to be added later.)

Providence

Ty Anderson took over as head coach of Providence in May.  The team has only two players returning with significant varsity experience.  Tara Cobb will play both the power forward and center positions, while Jenna Warner will be the point guard.  Three players who are expected to contribute are still playing soccer as of late October, and several players with JV experience are expected to play vital roles.

Trinity Lutheran

Trinity Lutheran is coached by Amber Williams and is in its second year for girls basketball.  They became a member of the IHSAA this past summer.  Three starters return in juniors Jamie Hiser, Rachel Keinath, and Kim Meier.  Hiser was the leading scorer last season, averaging 10.7 ppg.  Keinath is expected to contribute both as a scorer and rebounder, and Meier is expected to be the primary ballhandler.  Fr. Micah Owens is expected to provide some quality minutes this season.

Charlestown

The Lady Pirates are coached by Tony Hall and finished 10-16 last season.  Charlestown returns speed and size, and also has an excellent six-player freshman class moving up this year.  The Lady Pirates return 6-0 Jr. Kendra Stumler (10.1 ppg, 8.4 rpg), 5-10 Jr. Michelle Grayson (10.2 ppg, 8.1 rpg), 5-4 Jr. Amanda Picente (8.5 ppg, 3.2 apg, 2.8 spg), 5-9 Jr. Kelsie Thrasher (9.6 ppg, 7.8 rpg), and 5-10 Jr. Kim Gregory (6.5 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 2.1 spg).  Charlestown also returns 5-10 Jr. Jana Davis and 5-10 So. Jessie Kessler.

South Central

South Central is coached by Randall Schoen.

(Additional Info to be added later.)

This should be an excellent week of basketball culminating with the championship round at Clarksville High School on November 15th.  One of the top players performing this week will be 6-2 Sr. Candace Bain of Clarksville High School.  Miss Bain averaged 19.5 ppg and 9.5 rpg and was a Junior Indiana All-Star last season.  She has verbally committed to play college basketball at Butler University.

This is a preliminary preview and I will update and/or correct as more info becomes available.  I will also provide and post results after the event at this location on my website. Please direct your comments to me at prephoops@yahoo.com.
