Most of the pict ures were of Abby playing 'Puck' in the Ny Shakespearen festival that last summer. There was a picture of that crazy Ms. Attrey throwing kisses. Then there was Puck's favorite. A picture of Abby in her "Puck" costume hugging him in his human attaire. Which was a T-shirt, shorts, human size ears and short hair. He looked down to see that he was wearing khaki long pants with a big blue sweater. Under the sweater was a white shirt that peeked out at the top. The only difference was his ears and hair were his normal length. He dropped the pictures on the bed at leaned back onto a big pillow. The first snowfall was late this year. Steel, dirt, and brick could still be seen on the tops of the buildings. It was depressing. Puck leaned back up. He put the loose photos in the album and stashed it under the bed. His health had improved in the last 5 months. he could walk without a cane and he was able to shapeshift again. He went to the windowseat to wait for Abby. She was girl-talking with Angela. Who knew what they could be talking about. Puck knew it wasn't their love life. Puck didn't blame Abby for wanting to wait. She was only 19. Also the thought about her mother getting pregnant and dying while giving birth had haunted Abby her whole life. She just didn't understand that Puck would never let that happen. His magic could heal her. Plus he didn't think that Xanatos and Petros would be to happy if he knocked up their little girl. Puck pushed the thought from his mind. When she was ready he was ready. All of a sudden the door flung open and Abby came in. She was not even aware that Puck was in the room. She had kicked off her shoes and had her shirt off. Puck could see the just visible 6-pack stomach Abby had. He cleared his throat and Abby turned around. She jumped. "Shit Puck, what are you doing here?!" She put her hands on her hips. "I don't know. Is this an invitation?" Puck smiled. Abby looked to see that she was just wear a bra and jeans."NO! I'm going to be late for my final." Puck got up and moved next to the bed. She already had her boots on. She was looking for a shirt. Puck looked at his watch,"What time do you have to go?" Looking at the clock Abby said,"I have to leave in five minutes." Puck pushed her down onto the bed. He began kissing her running his hand up her thigh. She ran her fingers through his hair. Puck pulled up,"All I need is three." Abby laughed and took off his sweater. "Thanks for the sweater."She got up and put the sweater. Puck propped himself up on his elbows,"Damn it Abby! That was a good trick." She pulled her hair out of the sweater,"I know." She stradled him and began to kiss him. "Gotta go. I promise that the day I graduate will be the day I'm ready." "Promise?" "I swear on the future Pucks." Puck just laid on the bed and waved as Abby left. "OK Puck! Time to get off your ass." Puck left Abby's room. The first thing he did before he went to the Great hall was get another sweater. He entered the Hall to see the trio and Angela taking turns lifting Alex up to place Christmas trinkets on the tree. Fox and David were nowhere to be seen;neither was Goliath. "I guess some people are getting an early Christmas present." Puck thought with a smile. Hudson was by the fire reading Abby's history book. Puck put his hands in his pockets and walked over to Hudson. "Anything good?" "Aye lad, Abby decided to take medival Scotland next semester. She asked me to help her. So, I'm reading the lass's book to get ahead start." Puck nodded,"She choose an excellent teacher." Hudson beamed with pride. It was nice of Abby to get Hudson involved in something. It made him love her more. He could see Alex looking at him with a what-are-you-waiting-for expression."hey little man, what's up?" Angela handed Alex to Puck,"He wants you to fly him to the top." Puck flew him to the top and Alex put the star on top. As he desended Alex was giggling and clapping. Brookyln was the first to ask,"How are you feeling?" Puck shrugged,"Fine, I can shapeshift again." Lex colored paled. Puck noticed it,"You know Lex, you really should trust me." Puck went away mad. Ever since Goliath told the clan about that dream he made for Goliath (Future Tense) the trio didn't trust him. They thought that Puck getting his powers back was the end of the world. He could begin to feel his blood boil. A hand touched his shoulder. It was Angela."I'm sorry Puck..they really don't mean it." "Yes they do." Puck shook her head off him. Angela looked at the fey,"CAn we talk?" Puck was surprise to hear those words,"Sure?" Angela and Puck went into the library. A fire was roaring when they got there. Angela sat on a big cushion on the floor. Puck sat next to her. "Do you love Abby?' Puck already didn't like where this conversation was heading. "Of course I love her. What kind of stupid question is that?!" Angela put her hands up,"Hey don't kill the messenger. Abby wanted me to make sure." "What?" Puck had lowered his voice. He could feel his heart tightening. "Does she not love me?" "Oh no! It's just that she is getting worried. She loves you so much but she's afraid that you don't think so..." "Because we haven't 'done' it." Puck said. Angela folded her arms,"Yes. Also she knows how much you want a baby. She told me that she wants think about it. You know, the whole thing about her mother." Puck nodded,"Thanks for telling me, Angela." Angela got up,"No problem, just don't tell her I told you. Let's go finish up the tree. I'll make sure the boys behave." Puck nodded. The rest of the night was actually enjoyable. Broadway made cookies and hot cocoa. Puck, holding Alex, flew to get the higher parts on the tree. Brooklyn put on that Christmas classic,"Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer." They were all singing and laughing with the lyrics. The trio lightened up and let Puck in on their conversations. Fox and David had joined the group with big smiles. Lex leaned into the group and said,"Guess who got an early Christmas present?" Puck laughed,"I had the same thought earlier." They all laughed. Around midnight everyone scattered to do their own thing. Puck was walking to his room when the elevator opened. Abby walked out with snow all over herself. She looked up to see Puck,"It's snowing." "Really?" Puck said mockingly. Abby smiled,"Goodnight, wise ass." Puck entered Abby's room. He magically changed his clothes into flanel nightwear. He slipped under the covers. Abby turned off the bathroom light and stood at the doorway. She saw Puck and he said her. "Are you ok?" Puck asked. She nodded an unconvincing yes. She got into bed and curled up next to him. She was freezing. Puck wrapped her up in blankets and his arms. "when is your grandfather coming in tomorrow?" "I think 2..yawn...you want to go out for brunch." Puck answered,"Sure. Then we both can enjoy your grandfather's stare. He doesn't carry his shotgun to family events does he?" She laughed,"Goodnight." Puck kissed the top of her head,"Godnight." Puck awoke to a dressed Abby,"You're up early." "Yup. I have my last final in a hour. I'll be done by 11. Do you want to meet me at Carmine's (note:Best Italian restrauant in NYC) at noon?" Puck yawned,"No, I'll come to the college. Which final is this?" "Business math..easy. See 'you' later." She kissed him. Puck rolled out of bed. He turned his clothes into his normal 'Puck' attaire. He transported himself to Alex's room. The toddler was waiting for him. "My boy, today we are going to learn the basics in flying by yourself." Alex clapped. 11 came around too fast. Puck was waiting at the door to the testing room. He was in a Columbia sweatshirt with jeans. He decided today he was going to have shoulder-length hair. A bell rang. All the students pil ed out into the hall. "Merry Christmas" "Happy New Years" were yelled across the hall. A couple of girls saw Puck and were making very expressive body language signals. Abby grabbed Puck's face and kissed it,"One more semester to go." "What are you talking about, you only started last year?" "Walk with me and I'll tell you..I'm starving." They walked to the car Puck borrowed from Xanatos. "You see I started taking college classes during my summers since 7th grade. In high school, I took college courses ontop of the ones in the summer. So, when I graduated high school I also graduated undergraduate school." Puck was shocked,"You have been buzy." Their lunch was great. They drove over to Grand Central Station to wait for Abby's grandfather. When Petros got off the train he saw his granddaughter holding Puck's hand. He forced a smile. The ride home was interesting. Abby was telling Petros about college and living in the castle. Puck could feel Petros's eyes burning holes in him. Petros cleared his throat,"So, Puck..what is new with you?" Puck's hands tightened on the wheel,"Um...still teaching your grandson magic. he is very bright." "Of course, he has my blood."Petros noticed the way Puck and Abby looked at each other,"So, how long have you been dating my granddaughter?" Abby turned and answered,"5 months." He nodded and looked out the window. Abby carried the suitcases to her grandfather's room. Petros grabbed Puck's arm,"I swear to you, you hurt her or knock her up before she finishes her education..my shotgun will have a new target." He released Puck. After he was out of sight, Puck started to rub his arm. "Man, he's got a strong grip for a mortal." Puck allowed his ears and hair to return to their elfish size. He walked into the kitchen. Fox, David, and Titania (in her human form) were sitting around the table. titania saw Puck,"What is wrong?" Puck grabbed a cup of coffee and sat with them. After his first sip he answered,"I just met your father sir." David choked on his coffee,"HAHAHAHA. Did he give you the shotgun speech?" Puck nodded. Fox and Titania looked confused,"What shotgun speech." David said,"Any guy who has become interested in Abby got the 'you hurt her I make you a target for my shotgun'"he said imitating his father's voice. They were all laughing, except for Puck who just drank his coffee. Puck was sitting on the couch reading Abby's book. Hudson left it. He flipped through it saying,"Not true, never happened, yeah right!" Then he felt someone climbing up him. He moved the book over to see Abby practically ontop of him. "Let's go out?" "Where?" Abby shrugged,"I don't know..a club. Dancing?" Puck continued to flip through the book,"I don't know?" Abby began to kiss him on his neck,"Pllleeaassee." Puck could feel her lips it made him shiver,"Damn you are good. OK I'll go." "Thank you. Wear something seasonal. We'll go to Job's." Puck grabbed her before she left and was running his hands through her hair. While his other hand was around her waist. "You know, I don't Think I'll be able to wait until June?" He kissed her passionetly,"I love you too much." She smiled,"YOu better, I saw the shotgun." Puck frooze,"OK, Let's go to Job's." Since it was a rock club Puck got black vinyl pants. Combat boots and a holly green shirt. As he shorted his hair he turned it red and green. He walked into Abby's room. His mouth dropped. Abby had on red vinyl pants with a matching holter top. She had a black leather jacket over it. But Puck could still see that 6-pack stomach he loved so much. Her hair was up in a french twist, To add to the effect she put holly leaves in her hair. Puck found himself growling."I don't think you should go?" Puck folded his arms. Abby looked at him,"Why? Nice hair." "Thank you. But you look too good. I don't want to have to pry you off some guy tonight." She walked over to him."The only guy you're going to have to pry me off of is you." She poked him in the stomach playfully. "Good." They got into the club with no problem. The music was so loud and there were lights flahing everywhere. People were dancing on the floor which lit up everytime someone stopped. The place was called 'Job's' after 'The Lawnmower Man' So in there were mature V-R sets called Job's Playground. There were people on computers, dancing in V-R cages, and some people were even making out in V-R. "Do you want a drink!" Puck yelled. Abby nodded her head,"Get me a diet coke!" She was already dancing with a group of people. Puck went to the bar,"Can I have two diet cokes and a whiskey." The bartender looked at him,"ID, please." Puck handed him the ID. He gave Puck the whiskey, which he downed right away, and took the cokes. "Stupid mortal." Puck laughed to himself. If he had looked at the ID he would have seen that it said "Over 2100." He sat down at a table Abby had picked by the dance floor. "Thanks. She said taking the drink. They began to talk about how the club looked. Puck pointed to Job's Playground and raised his eyebrows playfully. Abby laughed, she grabbed him and they were dancing on the dance floor. After a few fast songs, a slow song began (LeAnn Rimes "How Do I Live") Puck and Abby got really close to each other. Abby put her arms around his neck. He put his arms around her waist. He thought how the world could freeze at that moment and he wouldn't mind. Just being in Abby's arms made everything ok. Abby was thinking the samething. But her mind drifted to the future. What would their kids look like? Was she ever going get over this phobia to let Puck know how much she loved him? or was she going to lose him? She tightened her grip as if that would keep him longer. The song ended. The night went on and Puck had to try the V-R game before they left. He was sorry he did, for afterwards he felt sick to his stomach. Abby had him lean against her as they left the mad scene behind them. The night air was down right cold. "Puck,"she snickered,"are you ok?" Puck stood,"Yup. That thing makes you sick. It's not like anything I've ever done before." "I know, that's why I didn't do it." They walked back to the castle. The castle seemed so quiet when they came in at 2AM. The gargoyles should be around. Abby walked into the kitchen. She got wide-eyes and whistles from the trio,"Hey,guys." "Hi Abby. How was Job's?" Lex looked up from his laptop. She shrugged,"Too loud. Puck got alittle sick from one of the V-R games." Angela was still shocked about Abby's appearence. She looked like one of the models she saw on TV,"Abby, Where did you get that outfit?" Abby looked at herself,"A bunch of stores. it took me months to find the top." Abby took off her jacket. Brooklyn cleared his throat,"Um, I need some air." Lex staring at Abby said,"Yeah,I do too." Broadway just smiled at his rookery brothers. Abby pointed at them,"What's with them?" Broadway still smiling said,"I think they just discovered that you had a body." Angela nudged him."Hey, she wanted to know."Said Broadway. Broadway left the girls to find Puck. Abby waited until Broadway left before she spoke to Angela. She went to the fridge and got out a coke."Angela." "Yes." Angela looked up from her book. "I've decided to do it?" Angela knew what'it' was. "Are you sure. You said that you were afraid." "Well, I am. But I think Puck's worth it. I love him so much. Sometimes I have trouble controlling myself." Angela closed her book to look at her human friend. Her hands were shaking alittle and her eyes looked so happy. Angela placed her hands on Abby's hands. Abby snorted,"Is it that obvious that I'm nervous." Angela just smiled,"When?" Abby looked up thinking,"Christmas Eve." Angela started to laugh,"MERRY CHRISTMAS!" They both began to laugh. Broadway found Puck on the couch in the library. Next to him was a cold pack. Broadway asked,"May I sit down?" Puck moved his legs,"Sure. You cold?" Broadway nodded. Puck collected energy in his hands. He sent it to the fire. It burst; causing a great fire to roar in the fireplae. "How are you,Puck? Abby told us about the V-R game." Puck looked in pain to hear the word V-R. "So, Broadway how are things with Angela?" "OK, no complaints. Actually, we are thinking about becoming lifemates." Puck nodded,"That is like marriage for gargoyles, right?" "Yes, we pledge our lives, souls, and hearts to each other forever. Usually,"he blushed,"That same night an egg is conceived." Puck laughed at Broadway,"Come on, that's nothing to be embarrassed about." Broadway looked at Puck,"What about Abby and you? We all know that you two are in mad love with each other." Puck frowned,"Yeah, but I got her daddy and grandpa breathing down my neck. We, children of Oberon, don't have weddings. We just do what Abby and I have been doing. But for her I would have a wedding. That's if Petros puts away the shotgun?" Broadway's eyes widened," I even got her this." Puck dug into his pocket and pull out a little fuzzy box. Puck put it into the gargoyle's hand. Broadway opened it to see a little gold band with an Australian Opal in the middle.(they are opals but instead of white they are black) "I was going to give it to her..but I don't know?" "Why not?" "She is only 19, and that's young. Although she is so much more mature. D id you know she started going to college when she was 13. Her father has already given her a job in management starting in September" Puck looked so proud."Then there is the thing about her mother." Broadway closed the box and gave it back to Puck."Angela told me about that. that must be awful to not know like that." Puck nodded,"But I'll wait for her. I love her too much to just let her go." Broadway stood up and placed his hand on Puck's shoulder, "Remember that Puck and nothing is impossible." Puck put his hand on Broa dway's,"Thanks big guy. I needed this." "I know," Broadway said. Puck didn't even bother to get up. He just picked up a blanket and went to sleep. The weeks had gone so fast. Between Christmas shopping and then hiding them from Alex. It was tiring. Puck was in charge of keeping Alex away from the presents. Abby was in charge of decorating the castle, along with Angela during the night. Broadway was in charge of the menu. Lex and Brook were in charge of picking up the supplies Abby needed from Xanatos's warehouses. Hudson took care of the stories. Titania and Petros did what most grandparents do - spoil their grandkids. Fox was in charge of buying the presents. She had at least 10 lists from everyone in the castle. Mr. XAnatos helped Fox carry everything. Finally it was Christmas Eve. Puck opened his eyes. It was 11Am. He really should sleep alittle bit longer. Everyone had decided that to i nclude the gargoyles they would sleep until the late afternoon. That way no one would get tired too early. Puck took a deep breath and looked at the sleeping Abby. The heavy curl was starting to come back into her wavy hair. As he watched her he wondered if this is how David felt about Fox, Oberon to Titania, Goliath to Elisa, and so on. He could see the little box on his dresser. "Tonight,"he thought gently rubbing his fingers on her face,"Tonight." Everyone was up by 3PM, getting the table set, last minute present wrapping, and finally getting ready themselves. Puck heard a knock at his door,"Come in." Abby walked in holding Alex's hand. Alex was dressed in a red plaid jumper with a green bowtie and white dress shirt. Abby had on a short green plaid shirt, black silk sweater, tights with little hollys on it, and loafers. She pointed to Puck,"Doesn't Puck look handsome, Alex?" Alex nodded his head. Abby walked over and started to do his tie. He had shrunk one of Owen's suits. He wore the white shirt, black pants and vest. The tie had hollys on it to match Abby's tights. Puck looked into the mirror,"I feel like an idiot." Abby kissed him on the cheek,"A cute idiot." Fox had on a skin tight red velvet dress. Mr Xanatos looked the same, save for a red hankerschief in his front pocket. GrandpaX had on a brown suit. But when Abby approached, he pulled up his legs to reveal santa socks. Titania was wearing a long white satin dress that reminded Puck of Avalon. The gargoyle were happy to see the Hall bright with Christmas lights. They looked like little children. To top everything off, it began to snow. There was talking, laughing, singing, and dancing. Puck, in an Owen tranc e, would keep taking empty trays away to refill them. He kept forgetting that there was that little plant over the door way. he got kissed by Abby, Fox, Elisa, and Titania. Once Mr. Xanatos crossed Puck's path. They looked at each other and broke into handshakes. It was voted on the night before that Hudson would read "Twas the night before Christmas" and Petros would read "The Grinch that Stole Christmas." When it was time to tell the stories everyone came. Adults, children, grandparents, and gargoyles together to hear stories. The fire was roaring. There were two comfy chairs on both sides of the fireplace. Petros sat in one and Hudson sat in the other. the rest pushed three couches over infront of the storytellers. Fox sat and leaned against David. Titania was at the end of the couch. Broadway and Angela sat hand in hand. Lex was on the floor with Bronx. Brook was leaning against one of the arms. Goliath and Elisa were arm in arm. Puck had settled on the floor with his back against the couch. Abby was sitting inbetween his legs leaning against him like a pillow. He wrapped his arms around her waist. In return, she put her hands on his. Alex, of course, was right in the middle of the storytellers. Petros went first, making funny sound effects that made Alex laugh. Then it was Hudson's turn. With that heavy Scottish accent it made the poem more effective than any other time Abby had ever heard it. Hudson read the last line,"Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight. And lads and lasses that is what Alex has done." All eyes turned to see Alex curled into a ball, asleep, on the floor. Fox stood to pick up Alex,"I think he has the right idea. Goodnight." "Goodnight." came a chorus of voices. Goliath and Elisa left to go to the Maza's house. Lex went to play on his computer. Brook took Bronx for a walk. Hudson was asleep in the chair. Titania had vanished. Broadway and Angela had gone off on their own. Petros looked at Abby pry herself off a sleeping Puck. "Abby?" she turned to see her grandfather,"Do you really love...that?" he pointed to Puck. "Yes, I do." Abby said in a strict voice. "What happened? Just yesterday you were my lil Puck who would chase the chickens. Now, you are all grown up." A tear rolled down his cheek. She hugged him,"I'll always be your lil Puck." Petros kissed Abby's forehead and went to bed. Abby turned her attentions to Puck. "Puck wake up!" Puck's eyes fluttered until they were fully open,"Are the stories open?" "Yes, sweetheart, let's go to bed." Puck allowed himself to be pulled up. As they walked to the room Puck became more awake. "Let's go to my room, first." Puck thinking nothing of it said,"Sure." Puck was happy to lay down on her bed. he kicked off his shoes, took off his vest, and shirt. He got under the covers. He heard Abby next to him."Are you too tired for your Christmas present?" Without opening his eyes,"No, what is it?" Abby straddled him and started to kiss him."Your present is me." Puck quickly flipped her over so he was on top,"Are you serious?" She started to unbutton her shirt,"Merry Christmas." Puck smiled as he lowered himself to kiss her. He hadn't noticed until now but all Abby had on was the long shirt. She helped him with his pants Puck had had many women before but none felt as right and good as it did with Abby. His hand ran down her body. Having their skins rubbing together was the best thing that Abby had ever known. She knew now that she was completely in love with Puck. A couple of hours later, Abby and Puck were justing holding each other. Puck was the first to speak,"Abby, are you awake?" She lifted her head up ,"Yup." "I have a present for you." He disappeared and reappeared holding something in his hands. He looked down at his hands,"I didn't know whether to give this to you." He looked up at her,"Becasue your father and grandfather. I was beginning to think this was a mistake. But you changed it. Your smile, the touch of your skin against mine, the way you look holding Alex, and your kiss. It told me it wasn't a mistake." He put the box into her hand. She looked at it. She slowly opened the box to see a ring,"Oh my god." "Abagail Puck Xanatos, will you marry me? I swear to be yours until the end of time. You don't even have to say yes now. I know your young, believe me I know. I just want you to know that when you are ready that is your invitation. Anytime. Anywhere." Abby had started to cry as she put the ring on,"Well, as of now I will marry you, but?" "But what?!" "You throw another stunt like this again, I'll kill you." Puck took her hand and kissed it,"Deal." Abby grabbed Puck and pulled him down into another 'mad embrace.' The morning felt good to Abby's face. She left her 'future husband' asleep and went to the kitchen. When she opened the door only her father was sitting at the table. She had a craving for orange juice. David watched her sit down and pour her juice. "You know, your mother had a craving for orange juice after sex too," Abby began to choke on the juice,"What?!" "It's no surprise...but Angela did help." "Angela. She told you." "Oh no, Fox and I overheard her tell Broadway about it." Her father looked so sad."I'm sorry I wasn't there for you. I really wanted to but I was only 16. I didn't know who I was yet." Abby put her hand on her father's hand,"Neither do I dad, that's why I'm not rushing into anything. Puck has pointed me in the right direction. I love him." David smiled,"You know..if you ever marry him grandpa's going to want a white wedding at the farm." Abby shook her head,"Dad..let me finish college first." A still asleep Puck walked in and sat down at the table. He looked at Abby then at Xanatos. "What?!" Abby kissed him on his lips,"Merry Christmas."
