A Promise Made is a Promise Kept

A Promise Made
As he looked up, he noticed two men walking towards him. Chris knew that the two that were approaching him was Lance and J.C. As they walked towards him, they didn't even seem to notice Chris watching them walk. They were to deep in conversation.
"Hi guys, what's up?"
Lance and J.C. continued to walk, not even acknowledging the fact that Chris was standing there and had just spoke to them.
"Whoa, that was weird, what's up with them?" Chris asked as he went to go stand with Justin and Joey, "They completely ignored me."
"I don't know, they have been doing that all morning, I think there's something up with Lance."
"Well we need to figure it out, we can't go around being ignored by those two all day, we have to find out what's wrong."
"Yeah, but we can't do it now, we have a photo shoot and we can't be late."
~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~
"Oh I’m beat, that photo shoot seemed to go on forever." J.C. said as he flopped down on the hotel couch.
"Yeah but at least you weren't attacked by a thousand screaming girls! Justin are you ok?" Chris exclaimed, "we tried to save you but the force was too strong."
The others in the room laughed until Lance entered the room, with a bodyguard in tow.
"Well look who decided to grace us with his presence." J.C. said, "welcome."
"Uh, thanks guys, I got a call on my cell. Chris, can I talk to you?"
"Sure, talk."
"No, I mean-"
"Yeah, I know, let's go to my room."
"What's up?" Chris asked Lance when they had reached his room. "Something wrong?"
"No, not exactly, I have a question though."
"Shoot."
"Does the name Michelle ring a bell?"
---------------------------------------------------------------------FLASHBACK---------------------------------------------------------
"Hey Mishi guess what?" Chris asked his friend over a long distance phone call to Michele’s hometown in Alberta Canada.
"What Chris? You finally coming to visit me?"
"No, I mean, I will come but -- hey you live down here, you're only visiting up there!"
"I know, I just wanted to see what you'd do if I said that. Besides, you should come visit up here with me sometime, you would love it."
"Ha ha very funny." Chris mimicked. "That's not the reason I called."
"Then why did you? It sounds important"
"It is important."
"Then spit it out!"
"Ok well, I have decided to start a band, or a group rather, and I have a favor to ask..."
"No." Michelle said abruptly.
"No what? You didn't even hearwhat I was gonna say."
"Christopher Alan Kirkpatrick, do you think that after knowing you as long as I have, you don't think that I don't know what you’re thinking?"
"So you don't want to join the group?"
"Chris, you know I don't like to sing in front of large crowds."
"But you have such a beautiful voice, please?"
"No Chris, I’m sorry. And don't do that, you know I hate being flattered. Hey if you’re looking for people to join your group, I have a friend who lives in Mississippi. He might be interested.
"That's cool, who is he? Have I ever met him?"
"I don't think so, his name is --"
"Hold on, other line." Chris left and put her on hold. A couple minutes later, he came back. "Hi I’m back, did you miss me?"
"Horribly."
"What were we talking about before I left?"
"Oh, nothing. Hey Chris?"
"Yeah?"
"Do me a favor, remember me. When you get famous? Don't forget me, k?"
"Ok I promise, I won't forget you."...
---------------------------------------------------------END OF FLASHBACK------------------------------------------------------
"Yeah I remember her, how could I forget? I promised her I wouldn't."
"Well she contacted me this morning, She said she was calling to say hi and that she knows you --"
"Wait, you know Mishi?"Chris asked Lance with a puzzled expression on his face.
"Mishi? Yeah I’ve known her for years. She left her number, she wants you to get a hold of her."
"Thanks Lance, I’ll give her a call right away. God, I haven't talked to her for 3 years. Guess I broke my promise, three years later and leave it up to Lance to remind me. Hey Lance, did she say were she was?"
"Yeah, she moved back home to Alberta."
"Thanks man, hey you wanna stick around and talk to her?"
"No, I had a long chat with her this morning. Oh and she wanted me to ask you if you remember the phone conversation when you first called her and told her about the group?"
Chris thought back to the conversation they had that one day and remembered what he had promised her. He knew he had broken his promise. "Yeah I remember it, why?"
"I don't know, ask her."Lance turned and left the room. Chris picked up the phone and dialed the number. God, I’m gonna have a huge phone bill to pay at the end of this month.
"Hello?" Came a female voice that was very familiar to Chris.
"Hi Mishi? It's Chris."
"Hi Chris, how are you?"
"I'm doing great, what about you?"
"I'm ok, I talked to Lance this morning, did he tell you that?"
"Yeah he told me, I didn't even know you knew him."
"Chris, did Lance ask you if you remembered the phone conversation? The one we had when you told me about the group?"
"Yeah, he did." Chris said with a guilty tone in his voice. He had made her a promise during that phone conversation and he hadn't lived up to it.
"Do you remember when you asked me to join the group?"
"Yeah you said no. Then you told me about a friend of yours in Mississippi --" Chris stopped, realizing what she was trying to say. "Lance was that person, wasn’t he?"
"Yeah he was. I've known Lance forever. It's weird though, I didn't tell you his name so I guess it was just coincidental."
"Yeah it was. Does Lance know all this?"
"Yeah he's known for three years. He called and asked me if he should do it, as he had other plans for his future. I told him then."
"Wow that's so cool, so you told him to audition?"
"No. I might have influenced his disision a little, cause I told him a little about you, but I left the disision up to him. He chose it himself."
"Wow, you learn something everyday right? So other than keeping secrets from me, what else have you been up to? Still have that great singing voice of yours?"
"Chris, you of all people should know that your voice doesn't change that quickly. But I have started taking voice lessons, I was starting to get really rough when I sang, I’m almost better now."
"That's really great, hey you could still be in the group if you want?"
"Sorry Chris, I’m doing this for myself. Besides, you don't need anything else in your group, you guys are perfect the way you are."
"So have you heard the new CD yet?"
"Chris, I have followed your career ever since we lost touch. I know a lot about you guys as a group and as individuals."
"God Mishi, I miss you. Would you come visit me? And Lance? I'm sure he would love to see you."
"Chris I would love to, but you guys are on the road for the next four months."
"Holy, you do follow us close don't you?"
"Yeah I try."
"Well I don't care come spend a week on the road with us."
"Really? It would be ok?"
"Sure, as long as you don't mind putting up with us and our hectic schedule."
"No I don't mind, I’ve done it before."
"Ok, I’ll talk to the guys about it and call you back tomorrow."
"Ok, bye Chris."
"Bye." He hung up the phone and went to talk to the guys.
One Week Later
"Hurry up Lance, we're gonna be late!"
"Ok I’m coming. Chris, her plane doesn't even land for another 45 minutes!
"I know, but I don't want to be late. Hurry up!"
"Whoa, someone’s a little excited. Relax man."
"I can't I’m so happy. I haven't seen Mishi for 3 years. I wonder if she has changed?"
"Chris," J.C., the voice of reason added, "people usually do change."
"Well I know that. I want to know if she has changed appearance wise."
"Is she pretty?" Asked Joey always interested when it came to the opposite sex.
"Oh yeah, she's gorgeous. I don't have a picture with me but ask Lance, he'll agree with me."
"Agree with what?" Asked Lance as he entered the room.
"That Michelle is pretty."
"Oh yeah, she's beautiful. Here." He reached into his wallet and pulled out a picture and then handed it to Joey. "This is her."
"You have a picture of her in your wallet?" Asked Chris in dismay.
"Yeah, she's still my friend."
"Wow this is Michelle? She's gorgeous. How old is she?"
"22." Said the two in unison.
"Whoa, did you guys rehearse that?" Asked J.C.
"No." Said Chris, "come on Lance, I don't wanna be late."
"Ok, I’m ready, let's go." The two boys left, wearing a disguise of sunglasses on their faces, and a baseball cap on their heads., with a bodyguard in tow.
Once they got to the airport, they found the gate that Michelle's plane would be coming in at and waited for it to come in. Lance shot Chris a glance that said 'I told you we would be early'. Chris looked back at Lance with a look that just said 'what can I say, I’m excited to see her'.
"Announcing the arrival of flight 233 from Alberta."
"See, I told you her plane would be early."
"Yeah, by two minutes."
"Oh well, I was still right."
The two waited for their friend to come off the plane but after a while, they still couldn't see her. Chris began to worry. 'What if I don't recognize her? What if she doesn't recognize me?' At that moment, they saw the last of the passengers come off the plane, they noticed the familiar face of their friend. She didn't recognize them because of the disguise they were wearing so they walked over to her as she was claiming her luggage.
"Guess who?" Chris said as he covered her eyes with his hands.
"I only need one guess." Chris took his hands off of her eyes and she turned around to face him. "Hi guys!" She threw her arms out for a hug from Chris and then Lance.
"Hi Mishi, you look really great."
"Thanks Lance you guys don't look so bad yourselves, how are you doing?"
"We're ok, how bout you?"
"Oh better now that the plane ride is over. It seemed to last forever."
"You were only in the air for an two and a half hours!" Lance exclaimed, "you should try flying to Europe, that's like 20 hours on a plane, or something like that."
"Oh well maybe I’ll try it someday Lance. Oh and by the way, nice sunglasses guys, I should get me a pair just like 'em, eh? You guys look like the bobsy twins."
"Lance, is the girl twin."
The three laughed as Lance picked up the bag that Michelle had brought, and they started towards the car that they had rented during there stay in Chicago.
"Hey Mishi, we could get you a pair just like 'em. Be careful what you say, we have power now." Chris took off his sunglasses and handed them to his friend.
"How could I forget. Hey you, put those back on, I know that they are your disguise and I don't want to be the cause of a fan rush in the middle of the Chicago airport." Michelle quickly placed the glasses back in his hand and Chris put them back on his face.
"It's a good thing you packed light Michelle, we don't have a lot of extra room on the bus."
"Yeah, I figured that. Besides, I’m only gonna be here for a week."
"Well if you ask any one of my sisters to pack for a week away from home, they would clean out their closets. It's unbelievable how much stuff they need."
"Chris, not all girls are like that, you just have the typical type of girls for sisters. How are they by the way?"
"They are doing just fine, same with my mom."
"That's good, and Lance? How's your family?"
"They are fine too, Stacey just got married a couple of months ago."
"Yeah I read about it, that's really great. Send my love next time you talk to her."
"I will."
When they got to the hotel, J.C., Joey, and Justin greeted the three.
"Honey, I’m home!" Chris announced as they came through the door.
"Hi guys, welcome back."
The thredroppeded their stuff at the door and came into the main room to do the introductions.
"Justin, J.C. and Joey, this is Michelle. Michelle, these are the guys."
"Hi." said the four as they greeted eachother.
"Call me Mishi if you want. All my friends do."
"Wow you were right, she is a knockout." Joey whispered to Chris as quietly as he could. But obviously not quiet enough.
"I heard that." Michelle said with a laugh. "One thing you should know about me Joey, I hate being flattered."
"Ok, I’ll remember that for next time." But he couldn't resist adding, "but you really are pretty."
She laughed again. "Thanks Joey."
"Leave it to Joey to do the flirting. Do you ever stop man?" J.C. could see right through Joey. He knew what he was up to.
"J.C.!" Joey blushed and shied away from the conversation. The others joined J.C. in laughing at Joey, the flirtatious one of the group.
The five showed Michelle around the hotel room and then handed her a slip of paper.
"What's this?" She asked as her eyes quickly skimmed the slip of paper.
"It's a copy of a schedule for the next week. That way, you will always know where to find us. Plus, at the bottom is all of our cell phone numbers."
"Wait, won't I be with you guys all the time?"
"Believe me Mishi, after two days or being with us, if you have a chance to take a break, you'll take it."
"I don't know Lance, I’m looking forward to living your life for a week, it'll be fun."
"Ok guys, I hate to be the barer of bad news, but it's late, and we have an early morning tomorrow. Plus Michelle, your plane ride must have tired you out. Time for bed."
"Yes daddy." Michelle muttered under her breath. The others couldn't help but overhearing her and started to laugh at the joke that they to used against him when he went into his responsible like mood. She had just managed to beat them to saying it.
"Oh Mishi, you're gonna fit in fine with us," decided Justin. "You've been here only a couple of hours and you know the bed time ritual."
"Good night everyone," J.C. said with a tone of mocking hurt.
"Nite." Everyone left the room and went to go get ready for bed. Chris however, stayed behind.
"Hey Mishi, I just wanted to say that I’m happy to have you a part of my life again."
"Well, I didn't have to ever not be part of it but you made that decision on your own."
"I know, and I’m sorry, I guess I didn't keep my promise. But you're here now, you're back in my life now, isn't that good enough?"
"Yeah it is, I never said it wasn't, but we have a lot of lost time to make up for."
"I know, and I’m looking forward to it. I'll see you in the morning k? We'll catch up then."
"Ok. Nite Chris, sleep tight."
"Don't let the bed bugs bite," he replied after her as he left the room.
Michelle got changed and got into bed. She wasn't sure, but now she was certain. The crush she had had on Chris all those years was still there. Michelle went to sleep with a smile on her face that night.
Day one-
"Rise and shine everyone!" Michelle, being an early riser along with J.C., woke everyone up early the next morning as they had an early interview. Since they were the first two awake, they had started breakfast. By the time everyone had made their way to the main room, it was ready to be eaten.
"Hey Michelle, come here." Lance gestured to her, "a hint of advice, stay away from Justin until after breakfast, he's a real grouch when he just wakes up."
"Ok thanks Lance, I’m glad you told me that."
"Morning."
"Morning Chris." Echoed five voices as everyone sat down for breakfast.
"Hey Mishi, " Chris went over to join her at the stove, "how was your sleep?" He gave her a friendly good morning kiss on the cheek.
"It was fine." Her heart melting at the kiss he had just gave her. "Hotel cots are more comfortable than they look."
"Don't we know it." Joey overheard and said matter of faculty, "in certain cities, we sometimes only get two rooms, with two beds each, so one of us always ends up sleeping on a cot or the couch in the main room."
After breakfast, everyone helped clean up, and then did last minute things before they would be picked up to go to the interview. When they were ready, they were supposed to go and wait in the main room. When Michelle got there, Justin and J.C. were they’re waiting for the rest of the group. All of a sudden the door opened and a man poked his head into the room.
"Is everyone ready to go?" He asked.
"Who's that?" Michelle asked J.C. and Justin.
"That's our manager, Mike." Justin said, "I guess he's gonna drive us to the interview. Yeah, we're just waiting for Joey, Chris and Lance."
"Correction," Lance said as he walked into the room, "you're only waiting for Chris and Joey. Mike did you meet Michelle?"
"No, we haven't had enough time to do introductions yet."
"Oh, well then, allow me. Mike this is Michelle, Michelle, this is Mike, our Manager."
The two exchanged hellos and then called Joey and Chris.
"Ok, I’m here, we're just waiting for Chris now. Hurry up Chris, let's go! Gee, he can get ready to go meet you at the airport in 15 minutes, but when we're actually late, he's the slowest person on earth."
"I don't know weather or not I should take that as an insult or a compliment." She said to Joey, "what do you think?"
"Well, if it's coming from Joey towards a girl, it's always a compliment." J.C. went on, "I think Chris should take that as an insult."
"Take what as an insult J.C.?" Chris entered the room and greeted Mike. "I can't help it if it takes me so long to get ready."
"It doesn't when you're going to meet a certain person at the airport and you insist on being early." By this time, Michelle had left the room to grab something from her bag, so she could not hear what was being said about her.
"Shhh you don't have to announce it to the world, I’m standing right here."
"She knows Chris, we already told her." J.C. paused."Chris, do you have a crush on her?"
"No," Chris said but he could already feel his face start to go red.
"You do, don't you?" Leave it to Justin to always detect what's true and not. "I can't believe it Chris, I thought you were just friends?"
"We are, I just like her as a better friend. Don't tell any one, especially her.
"Ok, are we ready to go?" Asked Mike again one everyone was back in the room. Michelle had returned with her camera.
"Yeah we're ready." The seven people went downstairs and split up into two groups to ride to the interview, as not everyone would fit in one car. The groups were Joey, Lance, and Justin in one car and J.C., Chris and Michelle in the other.
"Ok Mishi this is day one of complete exhaustion. Are you ready for it?" Asked J.C. as they piled into the car.
"I guess so, hey how come you guys don't look tired and exhausted?"
"You get used to the hectic schedule after a while, but for the first couple days, you'll probably be tired living our life."
"Oh, I see. Chris are you ok? You have been kind of quiet and in your own little world."
"Yeah, I’m fine, just tired."
J.C. laughed. He knew that Chris wasn't tired, but just thinking about what the next week would be like with Michelle here with him. He had the expression on his face that he was enjoying it so far.
When they got to the building that they would be having the interview, they realized that there was a million screaming fans were also there to welcome 'NSYNC.
"Oh oh, duck and cover. I just hope they have good security so we won't get killed."
"Well, I knew this was gonna happen sooner or later, but not yet. I haven't even been here for 24 hours and I’m gonna get killed. If those fans see me with you guys, they're gonna kill me."
"I know, just stay close to us, they won't kill us, just mame a little." Chris went on, "stay close to me and I’ll make sure you make it out alive."
The door to the car was opened from the outside and the three got out of the car and Michelle obeyed what Chris had said and stayed close to him. She preferred it that way anyway.
"Auuuhhhgggg! I love you Chris!" An over excited fan screamed. Chris looked over and waved to her. He kept his word and protected her from the fans. The security wasn't that great so the bodyguards who travel with the band had their hands full. To avoid getting stampeded, they got inside as quickly as possible. Chris let go of Michelle once they were inside, safe and sound.
"Well Mishi, how did you like your first taste of living with us?" Asked J.C. after he to had gotten inside from the screaming crowd.
"It was fun I guess. It'll get easier right?"
"No, I’m afraid not." Said Chris, "You have been seen with us and so now the rumors start. If anything, it'll get harder."
"Rumors?"
"Oh Mishi, you're not that dumb, you know we have some fans who don't want us to have girls in our lives and so now that they have seen you with us, they will probably think that you are going out with one of us."
"Most likely Chris," J.C. chimed in,"he's the one who got you inside."
"Well, I guess we'll have to wait and see. Maybe the fans will suprise us." Justin tried to cheer up Michelle but even he knew that they were in for a long week.
"I'm sorry guys, have I caused a problem?"
"No Michelle, it's ok." Chris went over to Michelle and gave her a hug, "everything's gonna be fine."
"Yeah Mishi don't worry about it."
Michelle heard the others comforting words but she didn't care. All she cared about was that Chris wasn't mad at her. As she got her hug from Chris, it dawned on her, 'he likes me, I think.' Michelle decided to ask J.C. or one of the others about it later. Chris loosened the hug and they walked into the main room that the interview would be in. They were late, so they started right away. Michelle didn't have a chance to talk to J.C. as she had hoped.
"Oh man, I’m sooooo tired, how do we do this everyday?"
"Oh Joey stop whining, maybe you should go to bed at a decent time the night before, like I told you to."
"Yeah, I’m tired too," Chris announced, "I’m going to bed. Good night everyone." Chris walked over to Michelle and gave her a hug. "Nite Mishi."
"Nite Chris. Sweet dreams."
"Ok, maybe it's just me but does Chris like me? I mean more than a friend." She asked the four remaining in the room after Chris had left the room.
The four friends looked at eachother with an expression on their faces that said 'well, should we tell her?'
"He does doesn't he?" Michelle began to smile, "You guys can't hide anything."
"Mishi, we'll answer your question if you answer ours. Do you like him?"
Michelle was nervous to answer Justin's question. It could be a set up to embarrass her and since she still had six more days with the guys, she didn't want that to happen. But at last, she decided that Justin's question was an honest question so she answered it truthfully. At last she said. "Yes."
"More than a good friend?"
She was getting uncomfortable; all of their concentration was focused on her. But once again, she answered the question. "Yes."
"Well, since you answered the question honestly, we should tell you the truth. Yes, he likes you to."
"Really?" Michelle was shocked to hear that. She never thought it would never happen. "He likes me?"
"Yeah, do you mind if we tell him?" Asked J.C., "he has a right to know."
"I know he does, but I don't want you to just tell him, it will change our relationship. I don't know weather it would be a good or bad change. Promise me you won't just drop it on him ok?"
"So we can tell him, but we have to wait until it's the appropriate moment to tell him?"
"Yeah I guess so, but only one of you can tell him. I don't want him to know that all of you guys know."
"I'll tell him if you guys want." Lance volunteered, "after all, they are both my friends." Lance seemed shocked from what he was hearing but at least he accepted it.
"Ok Lance, you can do it."
"Ok, you know the routine, bed time guys, and this time, listen to me, we have an early morning and then we're on the bus for the last part of the day."
"Ok dad, " Justin couldn't help adding. He jumped out of the way just before J.C. jumped at him. "Good night everyone."
"Nite Justin, good night guys. Hey Lance, can I talk to you a sec?" Michelle called lance back. They waited until everyone was out of the room and then she asked him, "Are you ok with this Lance?"
"Yeah I’m ok. A little shocked but I’m ok. After tonight, I think it will be reality to me, but I’m so tired it's hard for me to absorb shock into my body." He rubbed his eyes, "I’m just glad I’m the one who gets to tell him."
"Ok, thanks Lance. Good night." Michelle gave her friend a good night hug and then got ready for bed. 'Tomorrow’s gonna be a good day. I don't care about rumors, they might be true soon enough.' She turned out the light and went to sleep with the same smile on her face as the night before.
Day 2-
"Morning everyone!" Michelle had just gotten out of the shower and breakfast was almost ready. "I'll be right out, I just have to get dressed."
"Hey guys, What's for breakfast?" Lance asked as he and Chris came into the main room.
"I'm not sure, Joey's cooking," J.C. said, "smells like omelets of something."
"Where's Micelle?" Chris tried to ask as casually as possible.
"She just got out of the shower and now she's getting dressed. You're keeping pretty close tabs on her don't you think?"
"God J.C., can't a friend be concerned about another friend? Or is that against the law or something?"
"Chris, why don't you just ask her out?" Lance said at last. "She likes you to."
"Oh yeah lance, that was real nonchalant." Justin stopped talking. It had just sank in what he said.
"What are you guys talking about? No she doesn't!"
"Yes she does, she told me last night."
"Umm, excuse me, but she told us last night. After you went to bed. It's true Chris.
"Well, that's the last time I go to bed early." Chris said, "I can't believe it."
"Ask her out man."
"I can't."
"Why not? You both like eachother."
"Yeah I know, but you know how I am, I get restless and bored. Then we break up. End of story."
"It doesn't have to Chris," Lance cut in, "I mean, you weren't bored with her before, were you?"
"No."
"Then go for it man, ask her out. You already know everything about her."
"I'll think about it ok? I promise."
"Ok, we're here to talk if you need it Chris."
"I know, thanks guys."
A couple minutes later, Michelle came out and they sat down for breakfast. After breakfast, the six went to a sound check for a concert they would be having later that afternoon.
"Hey guys, bad news." Mike said as he came over to join the group during a break from rehearsing. "Your opening act for tonight just called and said they couldn't make it. Your concert will be cut short by about half an hour if we can't find a replacement soon."
Lance and Chris immediately turned and looked at Michelle.
"Don't look at me guys, there's no way I’m doing it."
"Michi, you can sing?" Asked J.C.
"Yes, she can sing better than I can." Said Chris; "she's just to scared to get up in front of a crowd and sing."
"Really? Can we hear you?"
"Well ok, but Chris is making this to big of a deal." Michelle began to sing her favorite song, amazing grace. By the time she was done, every one of the guy’s mouths, including Mike’s was wide open with amazement.
"Michelle you are incredible. Would you be our opening act?" Joey asked her. "Believe me, it isn't as hard as it looks to get up there and sing. Have you ever tried it?"
"Well, no, but - "
"Then how would you know what it's like? It really is a lot of fun."
"Well, I don't know... I really don't like many people looking at me."
"Michelle, could I talk to you for a minute?"
"Sure Chris, guys, could we have a sec?"
"What's up?"
"I really think you should do this. You're really good, and I think this could be your lucky break. Please? Do it for me."
"Well, I don't know. I guess I could try it and see what happens." After giving it a minute of thinking, she finally agreed to do it. "Ok, I’ll do it for you Chris."
"That's great, thanks Mishi. " Chris hugged his friend and gestured to his friends.
"What's up?'' They asked. "Are you gonna do it Mishi?"
"Yes, Chris talked me into it."
"What are you gonna sing? Just curious."
"I don't know, I could sing some old songs or I could do some of the songs from demo tapes that my vocal coach gave me. I have the tapes. I'm supposed to keep up with practicing while I’m with you guys."
"Ok, well, now's the time to rehearse them."
"Well, I can't rehearse them here. I don't have any of my stuff like my music or my tapes. They are all in my bag. I'm gonna have to practice back at the hotel."
"Well do you want to go back now?"
"Can I?" Michelle asked.
"Yeah. We still have at least another hour or two here so we could get someone to drive you back to the hotel so you can practice, rehearse and get ready for tonight. Plus, we're leaving right after the show so you might want to finish packing."
"Ok, I’m finished packing though. But I do need the time for tonight."
"Mishi? You wanna go now?" Chris asked."One of our body guards will drive you back."
"Ok, I’m ready. Bye guys, see you in a bit."
"Bye Mishi." Rang a chorus of five male voices. "Call us if you need anything."
Back at the hotel, Michelle went through all the music she had brought with her to practice. She chose three of the songs as Mike had said to do. Did her warm ups, then practiced them three times each, until she thought they were polished. Since she still had some time left, she decided to add some minor choreography to each song. When she was little, Michelle took dance and gymnastics classes so she added some basic steps, flips, jumps and walkovers.
'Now, what to wear,' she thought to herself. Taking into consideration of what her choreography would have her doing, she went for the sporty look. She pulled a pair of baggy silver track pants and a baby T-shirt out of her suitcase. Michelle was just about to put everything she had pulled out of her suitcase back into it, as they were leaving after the show, the phone rang.
"Hello?" She said into the receiver.
"Hi Michelle?"
"Hi Chris, what's up?"
"Well, it looks like we're gonna be longer than expected. One of the mics won't work so they have to make it work, then we have to go through a couple more things, then we'll be back."
"Ok, no problem. Are you packed yet?"
"No, not yet."
"Well, since you guys are going to be late getting back here, you probably won't have much time to pack. Do you want me to pack up your stuff?"
"That would be great, thanks Michelle."
"No problem, I’m done here anyway. Ask the guys if they are packed yet. If they are not, ask if they want me to do it."
"Ok, hold on." Chris left for a minute and then came back, "Michelle? Lance, J.C. and Joey are packed already, but Justin was wondering if you could pack his stuff to?"
"Yeah sure."
"Ok, Mishi, see ya later."
"Bye Chris." she hung up the phone and went to go pack up Justin and Chris' stuff. It wasn't hard; they didn't have much left to put into their suitcases. Just some clothes and bathroom stuff. By the time she was done, the boys weren't back so she ate, since they probably wouldn't have much time to do thet later.
"Hi Michelle, we're back." Lance called as they came through the door. "Sorry we're so late."
"That's ok, I got a lot done. Chris, Justin, your stuff is ready to go onto the bus."
"Thanks Michelle." Said Justin, "are you ready for tonight?"
"Yep, even picked out what I’m gonna wear."
"Wow, I’m impressed. Can we see what you've got prepared for your show?"
"Sure, get something to eat and you can watch while you eat."
The guys fixed a makeshift dinner from left over food that they never ate during the time they were in Chicago. Then, once they were settled in the main room, Michelle began what she had rehearsed in the hours before. Once she was finished, she could see the shock in the guy’s eyes.
"What's wrong? Was that good or bad?"
"It was really good. You're gonna really add to the show."
"Thanks J.C., all I’m looking to do, is get used to singing infront of a crowd. I just figure if I have fun with it through the choreography, it will be a little easier."
"Yeah, the choreography helps a lot when you're on stage." Joey added, "it also makes the fans enjoy the show more."
When everyone was finished eating, it was almost time to go back to the concert hall. They had to be there two hours prior to show time so they could get make-up done, do warm up, get changed, etc. They quickly did a final clean up of the hotel, as they would only be coming back to load up the bus, and then leaving to the next venue. After the clean up, they gathered up the clothes etc that they would be needed for the show and left.
"Ok guys, ten minutes until Michelle goes out, then it will be us shortly after that. Everyone be ready." J.C. left the room and Michelle was left to finish stretching and warm up.
"Nervous?" Chris asked as his head poked into the room.
"Yes, I don't think I’ve ever been more nervous in my entire life. I don't know if I can do this."
"Come on Michelle, you're so ready for this. Don't be scared. It's ok to be a little nervous but you can do this. Remember who you're doing it for."
"Yeah I know, I remember Chris, it's just that -"
"Shhhh. You're so tense, you're making me nervous. Just take a deep breath and relax.
"Ok Chris, you're right. I am making to big a deal out of this." She took a deep breath and let it out.
"Ok are you better?" Chris asked.
"Yeah, I’m ok. Thanks Chris."
"Michelle? Five minutes." Said a stage manager as he poked his head into the room.
"Ok, thanks."
"Well, I better go, the guys are going to wonder where I am." Before leaving the room, Chris hugged Michelle and gently placed a kiss on her lips. "Good luck. He whispered in her ear. He left the room. As she watched him go all the nervousness in her left her body and she took one more deep breath. 'Concentrate.' She said to herself. She left the room and went to go get ready to go on.
"Wow you guys, that was a really good concert."
"You weren't so bad yourself Michelle. Infact, you were great."
"Well, I had fun, that's all that counts. You guys are right, it's a lot of work, but it's not as hard as it looks."
"Well, I’m glad you did it Mishi. But you must have felt really comfortable on stage or you're really good at hiding nervousness, because you didn't seem at all uncomfortable up there."
"No, I wasn't nervous."
"Really? You were a wreak this afternoon. What made you change?"
Mishi looked over at Chris. "Chris talked me out of it. He helped me get through it. A twinkle appeared in her eye, "Thanks Chris."
"No problem." He said, "glad to do it." Chris smiled back at her. They both knew what made her nervousness go away.
"Well guys, I’m going to bed." Announced Joey
"Yeah, me too." Agreed J.C. and Lance.
"Good night everyone." The three went to the back of the bus to go get ready for bed. The three who remained were Justin, Michelle, and Chris. They decided to see what was on TV. They were just turning the TV on, when they felt the bus make a sudden movement. They heard someone in the back, probably Lance, fall off the top bunk of his bed. Justin fell off his seat and fell onto the floor. Chris grabbed Michelle to keep her from falling and Michelle did the same for Chris.The bus stopped and the driver asked if everyone was ok. The six voices said that they were ok, just a little bruised in Lance and Justin's case.
"Sorry guys, this road is really slippery. I don't know why, but there is a little rain falling and there must be enough to make the roads slippery."
"It's ok," they told the bus driver, "we're ok."
The bus kept going down the road, slower than before, but there still was movement.
"Well, what do you guys want to watch?" Michelle asked the boys. She had the remote because the two boys were fighting over who got to hold it.
"Let's see if there is a Southpark episode on." Said Chris, "Or the Simpson’s."
"Ok, is that ok with you Justin?"
"Yeah sure."
Michelle found an old episode of the Simpson’s for them to watch. As they watched, they felt the bus skid out a couple more times, but nothing major, so they paid no attention to it. Half way through the show, Michelle decided to make some tea, her throat was a little sore. As she got up she asked if anyone wanted anything. Chris and Justin each asked for a pop. Michelle left in search of their snacks. Michelle put the water on for her tea, then went to the fridge and got out two cokes for the boys. Since the water wasn't ready yet, Michelle decided to bring the drinks to Justin and Chris. While walking towards the sitting area, Michelle felt the bus skid out again, but this time, it didn't regain control. The bus hit a pole and Michelle fell to the floor. Before she could get up, something from above fell and hit her in the head, knocking her out cold.
"Michelle? Michi, can you hear me?" Chris and Lance were knelt beside her as she lay on the floor of the bus. They were trying to get her to wake up, but weren't having much luck. Michelle woke up, and slowly opened her eyes. As she did, she became of where she was and what surrounded her. Michelle heard a lot of different voices and so she knew that there were paramedics there. Suddenly, she realized that if the paramedics weren't there with her, someone else must be hurt. She sat up quickly to see what was going on. Michelle knew that it wasn't a good idea to do that, and she was right. The black began to close in on her again and she was out cold. The next time she woke up, Michelle was in a hospital room.
"Hi guys." She noticed there were a few people in the room and she wanted to let them know she was awake.
She knew where she was and what had happened. She also remembered blacking out on the bus, and why she did so she was very cautious about not sitting up.
"Hi Michelle. How are you feeling?" Michelle looked over and saw Lance and Chris there. The panic arose in her and she remembered that there must have been someone else hurt.
"Where is everyone? When we were on the bus, just before I went out again, I got the feeling someone else was hurt. Am I right?"
"Well, yeah but nothing major. Justin broke his wrist and I think we all have some bumps and bruises. J.C. and Joey are with Justin and as soon as he gets a cast, they will be coming in here."
"Ok, so there were no major injuries right?"
"Well, yeah, there's you. We were really worried about you. The doctors thought you might slip into a coma at first. You have a pretty serious concussion."
"Ohhhh, this can't be happening. Are they going to keep me in overnight?"
"Well, it's 2:00 in the morning now, there isn't much night left. I think they might keep you here for the rest of the morning."
"So I can go home today?"
"I'm not positive, but I think so."
"Hi Michelle. How are you feeling?" A doctor came into the room and started doing some vision and memory tests. From what Michelle could tell, everything was ok. "Michelle, I’m going to get you to sit up. If you can do that without too much trouble, then we'll get you to stand up. If you can walk, we'll send you home today."
"Ok, I’ll try." Michelle slowly sat up, easing herself, as that is what made her black out for the second time. Once she had sat up, she swung her legs off the bed and got ready to stand up. Chris and Lance rushed to either side of her to support her in case she needs help. Michelle managed to stand and walk without too much trouble. Her walking was slow, and off balance, but she could do it.
"Ok Michelle, after you rest, you can go home. I want you to take it easy for the next couple of days"
"Thank you doctor." The doctor left and soon after, J.C. and Justin walked in. Justin's arm was casted and in a sling, but he other than that, he looked ok.
"How are you Michelle?" They asked as they sat down at the chair beside her bed.
"I'm ok. I'm really dizzy but I can go home whenever I want to so that's a plus. How are you guys?"
"Oh, we'll be ok. A broken arm has never stopped me before and it won't stop me now."
"Guys, I just got off the phone with Mike." Said Joey as he walked into the room. "Mike said that due to the circumstances, the two shows at our next venue have been canceled. We have three days to rest and recuperate from the accident. We can stay on the bus or in a hotel. It's our choice. We also have to decide whether or not it would be a good idea for Michelle to stay with us for the remainder of the week."
"Well, the doctor said she would be feeling a lot better in two days or so. And if we have three days off, I don't see why we have to send her home. Especially when no one is at her house to take care of her."
"Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I'll let Mike know that she will be staying."
"Thanks guys. I'm going to try and get better as quick as possible."
"Oh Mishi don't worry." Chris reassured her, "we might be men, but we will still take care of you."
"Umm excuse me. Sorry for interrupting but are you guys NSYNC?"
"Yes we are. Why?"
"The press is in the waiting room. They obviously heard about your accident and they want to talk to someone about it."
"Ok, I’ll go talk to them." Volunteered Joey, "Maybe we can get rid of them and then we can get out of here."
Joey left with J.C. in tow.
"I'm going to go hunt down a cup of coffee." announced Justin; "Do you guys want anything?"
"No thanks Justin."
"That ok, I’m fine."
As Justin went to leave, Lance decided to go with him in case he needed help because of his arm. The two left leaving Chris and Michelle alone. Chris sat down on the chair next to Michelle's bed and took her hand. "I'm so glad you're ok Michelle."
"Thanks Chris, so am I. I was really scared when the entire thing happened. Then on the bus, when I woke up. I knew someone else was hurt but I didn't know who. Are you ok from all this?"
"Yeah, I’m fine. Maybe a couple of bruises, we all fell when the accident happened. Justin got the worst of it because he was sitting in an odd position. But yeah, I’m ok." And with that, Chris leaned over and kissed Michelle. She responded quickly and returned the kiss.
"Ok we talked to the -" J.C. and Joey had just walked into the room just in time to see Chris and Michelle kissing.
"Sorry, are we interrupting?" Asked J.C.
"Yes, but it's ok. Is the press gone?"
"They are just leaving now."
"Good, then we can get out of here. I hate hospitals, especially when it's me who has to be in them."
"Where's Lance and Justin?"
"They went to go track down some coffee."
"Oh, I see." There was an awkward silence. Finally J.C. decided to ask the question. "So, can we officially call you two a couple now?"
Chris and Michelle exchanged a glance that said; 'we could try it'.
"Sure I guess we'll try it. See how it works."
Justin and Lance returned without coffee. "We couldn't find any. Besides, the press is gone, we can leave if you want."
"But," Lance added, "We talked to the doctors and they said that you're gonna have to leave in a wheel chair since you're still not steady enough on your feet."
"Ok, let's go. Do we have a hotel booked yet?" Asked Joey
"Yeah, Mike did that earlier on this evening. He's here to pick us up."
"Alright, let's go." Lance got a wheel chair from the hallway and brought it in for Michelle. Justin and J.C. helped her sit down and they left.
"Oh hey, guess what you guys missed when you went to go get coffee?" Said Joey as they got onto the elevator.
"What?" Asked Justin.
"Michelle and Chris are officially a couple now."
"Really? That's great guys, I’m happy for you."
"Thanks Justin."
They got off the elevator and went towards the parking lot. Mike was there at the door and led the group to a huge van that would take them to the hotel. Chris helped Michelle out of the chair, and into the van. He then climbed in after her and sat down. After everyone was in and the doors were closed, Mike started the vehicle and they were off.
When they got to the hotel, Lance and Joey took charge of getting Michelle out of the car and into the hotel. Chris opened all the doors and helped her if she needed it. Michelle was getting better at walking, her concussion was starting to dissolve slowly, but she still was not a hundred percent so she still lost her balance from dizziness from time to time.
Once they were in the room, everyone sat down to rest, as it had been a long night for all of them. After about five minutes of silence, everyone got energized again. J.C. got up and got a glass of water, Justin went to go get ready for bed, taking his turn in the bathroom, and Chris got up and went to go sit with Michelle.
"Are you feeling alright hon.?" He asked her, since she was being unusually quiet.
"Yeah, I’m fine. Just tired."
"Well Michelle, you have a long night ahead of you. Have you ever had a concussion before?" Asked Lance.
"Yeah, I know the routine, I have to have a wake up call every hour so I don't slip into a coma or something."
"Yep, unfortunately, you do. Someone has to get up with you every hour to make sure you haven't lost any memory."
"I know that to. Do I have any volunteers?" She asked.
"I'll do it." Came the call of five voices.
"Ok, we'll take turns. We can alternate. We'll just have the wake up call delivered to the appropriate rooms at the right times of night."
"Guys, I’ll probably be up most of the night anyway, I can do it." Said Justin. "This damn arm won't let me sleep to much tonight. It really hurts."
"Poor Justin. Do you want some aspirin? I have some in my bag."
"Sure Michelle, that would be great."
Michelle reached into her bag and got out the bottle of painkillers and handed them to Justin. "Here you go, maybe that will help."
"Thanks Mishi. I'll still probably be up most of the night though; I’ve never had a cast so it will be weird trying to sleep with one on. I can still be on wake up duty."
"Ok Justin, sure. But I still think Chris wants to help with that."
"You better believe it. She's my girlfriend."
"Calm down hon, if you want, you can wake me up, but I’m sure you won't want to do it all night, so Justin can help you."
"Ok. Thanks man."
"No problem, glad to help out."
"Ok guys, go to bed if you want, we don't have to get up early tomorrow, but I’m going to bed. Good night everyone."
"Night J.C."
"I'm tired too, I’m gonna go to bed. Who's waking me up first?"
"Well, I’ll probably still be up an hour from now, so I’ll do it."
"OK Chris, see you in a hour. Nite guys."
"Good night Michelle."
"Mishi? Honey wake up."
"I'm awake. Has it been an hour already?"
"Yep. I'm on my way to bed now but Justin will be in again in an hour and then I’ll see you in about two."
"Alright, thanks hon."
Chris kissed the top of Michelle's head and left the room. Michelle went back to sleep...
Day three-
'Ohhhh, that was the longest night of my life.' Michelle thought as she awoke the next morning. She heard the TV in the main room on, so she got up to go see who was up. When she got into the main room, she found Lance and J.C. watching early morning cartoons.
"Morning guys."
"Good morning Michelle, how was your sleep?"
"Well, from what sleep I got, it was good, how about you?"
"I slept really well. I was tired so I slept like a baby. Do you want to sit and watch cartoons with us?"
"Sure." Michelle sat down slowly, as she still was quite unsteady. Lance noticed the slowness in her movement.
"Are you ok Michelle? You look really unsteady."
"Well, I am really unsteady right now, but I'll survive. I'm still recovering."
"Ok well take it easy. We don't want you back in the hospital."
"Thanks Lance. I guess Chris and Justin haven't woken up yet?"
"I haven't seen them yet this morning. You can go check on them if you feel ambitious enough to get up."
"No, I’ll let them sleep. They probably both hate me for keeping them up all night."
"Chris? Hate you? I don't think that's possible. Besides, they volunteered to do it."
"Yeah I guess." Michelle said with a laugh. "But I still feel guilty about it."
Later that morning
"Don't ever make me do that again." Chris mumbled to himself as he went into the main room. There, he found Michelle, Lance, J.C. and Joey.
"Morning hon. "
"Morning Mishi. How are you feeling today?"
"Um, a little better. How are you?"
"Tired."
"I'm sorry."
"Oh Mishi, it's ok. I don't blame you."
"Then who do you blame?"
"I don't blame anyone. What happens happens. We don't have any control it. I'm just glad to see you felling better."
"So you're not mad at me?"
"Of course not." Chris walked over to Michelle and gave her a hug. "You might have some problems with Justin though."
"I know. I just hope he got some sleep last night."
"I'm sure he won't be mad at you."
"I hope not. Plus, it's morning, so he's going to be grumpy."
"Grumpy is an understatement." Chris added. "PMS is more like it."
"I resent that."
Chris shrugged and sat down. Michelle sat down beside him and watched cartoons with everyone else until Justin came out.
"Morning Justin. How was your sleep?" Michelle asked light heartedly. "I hope you got some."
"Not much."
"I'm sorry. It's my fault you didn't get much sleep."
"Yeah it is."
"Justin." Chris warned from where he sat. "It's not her fault. She's trying to be nice. Show some class."
"Well, if it isn't her fault, then whose is it?" He asked Chris.
"It isn't anyone’s fault. Like she asked to get a concussion. It's partly your fault for volunteering to wake her up."
"Guys, stop it. If you didn't want to do it Justin, you didn't have to." Michelle got up and went to her room. She decided that she was going to stay away from Justin until he was in a better mood.
"Michelle, come back." Called Chris. He started after her. Before he could reach her door, she slammed it. She wasn't in the mood to talk at the moment.
Later that day, Michelle decided to come out of her room. She had been sleeping, now that she could, and now was wide-awake. Michelle decided to go out and see if everyone was in a better mood. She sure was.
"Hi Michelle. How was your nap?"
"How did you know?"
"I came in to apologize and you were asleep. Are you feeling better?" Justin asked.
"Not much better, but I feel rested."
"That's good. Look Michelle, I wanted to apologize for the way I went off on you this morning. I was in a bad mood as usual in the morning, and I took it out on you. I'm sorry."
"Justin, you're excused. I'm not mad at you though. I knew that you would be in a bad mood and being sleep deprived with a broken wrist wasn't going to help the situation any."
"Ok, I’m glad you're not mad at me."
"No, I’m not. Where is everybody?" Michelle asked Justin, noticing the hotel room was unusually empty.
"J.C., Lance and Joey went out for breakfast or something, and Chris is sleeping. I'm the only one that is here."
"Ok, well, do you want to do something?" She asked him. "I don't know what there is to do in a hotel, but I’m sure we could find something. As long as it doesn't require much movement. I'm still kind of dizzy when I make any sudden movements."
"Ok, well, we could play a game. I think I have some cards in my bag."
"Sounds good to me." Justin went into his room to get the cards. A moment later, he returned and they started to play. For the rest of the afternoon, they played Go Fish, War, Crazy 8's, and other little games to keep them occupied. Just as it was starting to get dark, J.C., Joey, and Lance came back from their afternoon of fun. A little while after that, Chris woke up and joined everyone in the main room. Everybody was in a good mood and nice to eachother. 'Justin and Chris must have made up after I went to my room. They don't seem to be mad at eachother.' After a while, everyone got a little restless and they began to break off into little groups. Justin and Lance went to explore the hotel, J.C. and Joey went to a club, and Michelle and Chris were alone again. They decided it wouldn't be good to go out and do something, since Michelle was still only on day one of her recovery from the accident, so they sat and watched TV together for most of the afternoon. They talked a lot about anything that really popped into their minds. One of the topics that came up was the one of what would happen between them at the end of the week when Michelle had to go back to Alberta.
"Chris? When the week is over, and I have to go back home, what's going to happen to us?"
"I'm not sure Michi, I have been trying to figure that out myself. What do you think we should do?"
"I don't know, what can we do? I mean, you guys are going to be on tour for another four months with only one break in between. I don't think we would have much time together."
"I know. Unless... Mishi I have an idea."
"What?"
"Well, I would have to talk to Mike and everybody about it but what if you became our permanent opening act? Then you could be on the road with us all the time."
"Oh Chris, I don't know if I could live your life. It's very hard and I also don't know if I could get up and sing infront of the crowds you do every night. Plus, I do have a life back at home that would be very hard to give up. All my friends are back there, plus what's left of my family."
"Please Mishi? Do it for me, for you... Do it for us." There was a pause in Chris' words. "I, I love you Michelle."
"Oh Chris, I love you to, but I still don't know... "Michelle took her own time to pause. "Ok, I’ll try it, but Chris, if it gets to be too much, I’m going back home."
"Alright. I respect that. But even if you do end up going home, I want you to remember something. I love you and I won't break that promise that we made three years ago."
"I love you to Chris. I don't know if I could ever stop loving you. If I end up going home, I’ll make sure we don't make the mistake of breaking that promise that we did three years ago."
Day four-
"Hey Lance, do you want to go out with me today? Since I’ve been here, we haven't spent much time together."
"Sure Michelle, what did you have in mind?"
"I don't know, there's a park around the corner, we could go for a walk."
"Sure, I could go for the peace and quiet. Let me go get my stuff." Lance went into his room and returned with his jacket. Michelle already had hers on. They left the apartment and started to walk towards the park. All day, they walked, talked and had some fun. Michelle still wasn't aloud to be active yet, but it did feel good to be out in the fresh air again. It was also good to be out with a good friend. Michelle had felt really guilty about not spending much time with him, but he seemed to understand. Lance had that quality about him, he knows everything is going to work out, so he doesn't worry. One of the qualities she most liked about him.
By the time they got home, it was almost dark and they were tired. Mike was supposed to talk to everyone about Chris’ idea and call them today, so Lance and Michelle were anxious to get home. Once they were back at the hotel, they asked if there was any news from Mike yet.
"Not yet, but he said he would call before 9:00 tonight." It was already 8:30. "Soon," Chris said.
At 8:55, the phone rang. J.C. picked it up, even though Chris had practically dived for the phone. "Hello?" J.C. said.
After about 3 of the longest minutes of 'yes' and 'ok', J.C. finally got off the phone.
"That was Mike," he announced, as if everyone hadn't figured that out.
"What did he say?" Asked Chris eagerly. He took Michelle's hand and held it tight. No matter what happened, he wanted her to know he was behind her one hundred percent.
"He said...." J.C. paused, he could see the suspense was killing Chris so he spit it out. "He said she can stay!"
"Oh my gosh! That is so great." Michelle jumped up so fast that she fell back on to her but. Her body still didn't want her doing that. Chris helped her up and they embraced eachother in a loving hug.
"Oh honey, I’m so glad you are going to be on the road with us."
"Hey but there are a few catches." Said J.C. "Michelle has to go home for two weeks, so that our up coming venues will know that she has replaced our other opening act. But in two weeks, she can join us permanently. Oh Mishi, Mike also recommends that you move to Orlando in the next four months or so. He figures you have a potential career in music and he wants to help you. Plus, since you're going to be with us, you will have to come with us to practices, sound checks, etc. So he recommends it."
"I have to move?"
"Um, Mike thinks it would be a good idea."
"Ok, I guess I’ll have think about it."
As the week came close to a close, Chris and Michelle began to talk about the possibility of her moving to Orlando. They both thought it was a good idea, and would be for the best, but it was hard for Michelle to leave her friends. As they neared the sixth day of her stay with the guys, Chris and Michelle reached a decision on how to make this work. Everytime that they had more than five days off the road, Michelle would go home and stay in her house up in Alberta, so she could keep in close contact with her friends and family. The rest of the time, she would stay with Chris in his apartment. This, they decided, was the best arrangement for Michelle to be able to stay with Chris and the guys, but still wouldn't be completely leaving her friends and family. Everyone else agreed that this was a good plan for Michelle. This plan also gave Michelle a lot of time to say a proper good-bye to everyone back at home. She wouldn't be moving for another four months, after they were finished their current tour.
"Oh I can't believe I’m leaving today, the week went so quickly." Michelle said to Chris as she finished packing her stuff. "I'm gonna miss you hon."
"I'm going to miss you to but we'll see eachother in two weeks, and besides, we were separated for three years before and we still remember eachother." Chris took Michele's bag and put it into the hallway. Everyone was going to take her to the airport and see her off. As they went into the main room, the four guys were waiting at the door to leave. Michelle put her coat on and they left the hotel room they were currently at. Since the accident, NSYNC's schedule had resumed to it's regular, busy self.
As the drove to the airport, Michelle made last minute promises to keep in touch everyday. The guys wrote down their cell phone numbers again and Michelle wrote down her home phone number so the guys could call her too. Once they got to the airport, they all said one last good bye and went their separate ways. Before they did though, Chris and Michelle promised to talk everyday.
"I swear I won't break it this time." Chris said on his face.
"You better not," she warned him. They hugged and exchanged a loving kiss just before she boarded the plane.
"I'll see you in two weeks."
"Bye honey."
"Bye."
