From The Back Of The Book:
The ships computer have choosen--- and now Rheba the fire dancer and her bre'n mentor Kirtn must fulfill the next part of their ongoing mission---to return a shipload of ex-slaves to the widely scattered home planets. Their current destination---Yhelle, a world where reality is far too fleeting for anyone but a master illusionist to grasp.
Yhelle is considered the most civilized place in the galaxy and their brief stopover should be pure pleasure. But it doesn't take Rheba, Kirtn, and their two Yhelle crewmates long to discover that beneath the paradiselike surface of this society lurks an evil that is growing more powerful each day, a seductive darkness that feeds on love and kills with ecstasy.....
REVIEW
Dancer's Illusion, is the last book in the Fire Dancer's series; it shouldn't be, but it is. It was as well written and imaginative as the first books. Your worst nightmares could not have taken you to some of the places that Rheba & Kirtn have found themselves; and yet Maxwell's books are not horror stories. The love story between the Fire Dancer and her Bren is very strong and very sweet; there is little or no sex in these books. The beings that they surround themselves with, hold their own special place in the readers heart. Nothing and no one is trivial. This lady can write! What a read! The series did leave alot of unanswered questions and I would love a book that brought this series to a close.
