Review:
Califa Claxton had been a loyal servant of the Coalition. But that was before they put a gold collar around her neck and made her a slave. They did this as punishment because another gold collar slave, named Wolf, had escaped. Califa was now determined to live the rest of her life as her friend Shaylah had always lived hers, being a good person. Even if that meant being a slave. That was before the famous skypirate, Dax, swept into her cell and rescued her along with his crewmember. Dax knew how cruel the Coalition could be, but it was hard to believe even they would do this, enslave one of there own. But they had and it was still hard for him to trust Califa. As they work together, Dax and Califa learn they aren't all that different and that love is the most powerful weapon
of all.
At first it was hard for me to believe that Califa had changed so much from when she was in Ms. Davis' "Lord Of The Storm". But by the end of the book I was as convinced as everyone else.
