Genny and Syn-Jern's relationship is a big part of the book and is a well developed story line. But in my opinion, it's the relationships between the men that are much more interesting. Ms. Compo gives us insight into the botherhood of men. The love and interaction of the males in this story is fascinating. It gives us a point of view not often seen in mainstream fiction.
