This is the second installment of the Three Sisters Island trilogy, Ms. Roberts has once again given us a clever mix of romance, humor, and witchcraft.
Deputy Ripley Todd was a little upset. MacAllister Booke has just rented Mia Devlin’s cottage for his stay on Three Sisters Island. It was bad enough that Ripley wanted to rent the cottage herself, to escape newlywed brother, Zack and his wife, Nell. But Mac is visiting to do research on witchcraft and its history on the island. As legend would have it, three witches separated it from the mainland and created Three Sisters Island. Nell, Ripley, and Mia are descendants of the original three, but only Ripley dislikes the powers she was born with.
Ripley comes face to face with her ancestor and senses a dark force that could destroy all that she holds dear. As the romance between Mac and Ripley builds, she is forced to let go of some of her tough girl defenses and has to learn to trust in Mac and their love.
I really liked the characters in this book, they prove that opposites do attract. Ripley and Mac are fun, interesting and complicated. But I found the storyline somewhat lacking, you could pretty much predict what was going to happen every step of the way. I would still recommend you read it, if only to meet Ripley and Mac.

Very Good
