This is a new to me author and I was pleasantly suprised. This is a very entertaining read. I loved both the main characters. Ms. Skye does a great job making us care what happens to Tess and Jake.
Y2K complicates Boston PR whiz Tess O'Mara's life when a million dollars appears in her bank account. Only after she's spent a chunk of it does Tess discover that it's not the bonus she expected from her wealthy boss for a job well done. And whoever the money does belong to wants it back--bad. Forced into hiding, Tess heads for Almost, Arizona, to find her brother's old friend, Sheriff Jake McCall. Not your average small-town sheriff, Jake is just the man to keep Tess safe. Or is he? Tess finds her heart is in dire danger of being left behind in Almost with its quirky cast of characters, mysteriously compelling Mogollon cave dwellings, and one very sexy lawman.
I really liked this book but wish the author had
went into more details about the cave dwellers and the
"out of body" experiences of the herione. The book seems not quite finished because of these omissions.
Still a good read, it just leaves you with unanswered
questions.
