The Cell Saga

This in my opinion is one of the best sagas in Dragon Ball Z, especially since Cell is such a cool character and so much happens, incuding the addition of Trunks to the band of Z soldiers! Oh yeah, there's also the matter of it being the first where just as the enemy gains new power, another Z soldier steps in and beats the crap out of him!!! (unlike Freeza where they could only keep on par, here they're up to three time stronger than Cell, whell Gohan anyway)

On Kami's Palace, Piccolo and Mr. Popo watch as Kami is terrified at something on Earth. Upon asking, Kami tells Piccolo that if he fuses with him, then the monster he's seen will be known to the namekian. Piccolo finally agrees but only if he's the base unit, or primary person, in the joining. The two fuse into the strongest Z Soldier, whom most of us call God-colo. The new Namek heads to Ginger Town where people have been vanishing to stop the monster there. On the way back from investigating, Kuririn and Trunks decide to step it up after seeing the second time machine and go to check on Goku. Elsewhere in her aircar, Buruma hears a news report of the events in Ginger Town and calls Roshi to ask if Kuririn and Trunks have arrived yet. When they do, the report shows an empty city and screaming coming from the remaining citizens. Piccolo arrives in the city to find a tall, green monster holding a fat richman. The man begs and tries to bribe Piccolo to help him, but the monster stabs the old man with its tails, and then absorbs the man into itself. Nothing remains but his cloths, and the monster just laughs. Piccolo tries to talk to it, getting the creature's response, "Piccolo the Demon King." Piccolo now states that it's good the monster killed everyone so he can go all out on it. The super namek powers up making a crater in the street. Once he's finally powered up (which is above 40,000,000)he fires a blast at the creature which destroys the entire city and throws it back into the rubble. Piccolo and the creature begin a fierce battle which Piccolo is the obvious winner, that is until the thing stabs into the namek's arm and ablorbs it. Piccolo asks what it is and why it's killing people trying to get what info he can. (That's why he fused with Kami, because of the wisdom) Anyway, the monster says its name is Cell, and it's from an alternate future. Three years onto Trunks' future to be exact. It was the abandoned experiment of Dr. Gero (Ghetto as I like to call him)to be the ultimate warrior and by ablsorbing Junanago and Juhachigo (17 and 18) it will obtain "kazentai", it's perfect form. Cell also mentions that he's made up from the cells of Goku, Vegeta, Freeza, King Cold, and even Piccolo himself! (This explains why the others could feel all the aura's at once before the battle started) Luckily the cells are from the frist Saiya-jin battle and so the strongest are from the Icers (Freeza etc.)

Piccolo has enough information now and regrows his arm. Now Cell Shows his talents by using the Kame Hame Ha! Let's just say it didn't work. Trunks and Kuririn are on the way after feeling the aura of Cell and arrive not to much later to which Cell escapes with a Taioken (Solar Flair) and blinds the three warriors. After the dissapointing loss, Piccolo, Trunks and Kuririn wait for Tenshinhan and Vegeta to arrive (they too spontaniously took off during the battle) and Piccolo explains the situation. They either kill Junanago (17) and Juhachigo (18), which they've already had a hard time with, or kill Cell. Piccolo and Tenshinhan take off to look for the monster while Kuririn and Trunks find Dr. Gero's destroyed labritory for a secret lair where Cell was, or rather will be created. Vegeta is just himself and takes off on his own. Cell goes on a rampage absorbing humans here and there while the others can't do a thing about it because he can detect the others' ki and hide his own. Kuririn and Trunks find the plans for a "kill switch" for the androids and also the tank in which the Cell from their time is only a foot-long larva. Trunks gets pissed and blows it to hell, and they fly off to Roshi's. The androids, however, are shoplifting clothing and in a pastry van heading for Goku's house. It's really funny, but you'd have to see it to get the whole thing. Anyway, Trunks and Kuririn get to Roshi's and give the plans to Buruma and she gets to work.

The rest is kind of a blur, but the high points are as follows: Goku wakes from his coma and accidentally throws Chichi into orbit, Kuririn get's beaten down by Cell while fighting on top of an airplane, the others devise a plan to find Cell by crouding in a large sky van (more like a winabego) and Juhachigo levels a forrest and looks at how she'd look in Chichi's clothing. ^_^ Well, Goku teleprts to the sky van and Kuririn jumps to hug the awakened hero and knocks him clear out of the vehicle. Goku, after calling Piccolo Kami-koro-sama, asks where he can train for one year in a day's time. The God-namek recalls the Room of Time and Space, which Goku tried to train in when he was younger. Goku teleports to where Trunks and Vegeta are supossed to be TRAINING, but Trunks says that Vegeta has been standing on a cliff for three days straight!! Goku tells Vegeta about the new method of training and gives him and Trunks the frist crack at it. Next, Son gets Gohan and they all are greated be Mr. Popo at Kami's Palace. Vegeta and Trunks go in first, are now cut off from the outside world. Meanwhile, Piccolo and the others return to Roshi Island to sleep. Piccolo is startled to find the Androids arriving when the others are alseep, and he takes off to fight all three! On a near by island, Piccolo powers up to fight only Junanago (17) since the cocky mo-fo thinks he can take the namekian alone. Here insues a GREAT fight and Piccolo is evenly match with his apponent at about 40,000,000! Unfortunalty, Cell senced the Ki Piccolo gave off and is now standing on a small ridge near the two fighters. (Oh, during the fight at least 2 or 3 islands were destroyed, but you'll see it soon enough). Now the androids and Piccolo face off against the renegade android monstrosity, who has become stronger than Piccolo and Junanago! Piccolo retaliates with a Gekiatsukohan, or Damarei as it's called (means Drop Dead) (I think that's the spelling)and Cell breaks his neck AND blows a hole throught him. Next, he criples Junanago and just when things look bad, Jiyrokugo (16) steps in and whoops on Cell seeing as how he's about 40,000,000; leaving Cell at his still 45,000,000!! (The reason the others couldn't fight is because Piccolo lost most of his power in the fight and Junanago got weaker with every blow to him) The battle rages, and Cell finds that Jiyrokugo is all machine, to which the "anti-Cell" android (he really is too) fires an arm to rocket punch the green menace and takes off both hands to fire the Hell Crush. Tenshinhan is watching from not far away and is baffled to see Cell not only survive but now absorbing Junanago. The newly powered up and semi-perfect Cell fires one blast at his apponent and blasts a piece of the android's head off. Just as Cell is about to attack Juhachigo, Tenshinhan steps in firing numerous Shinkikoho's which knock Cell way down into the Earth. However, the three eyed warrior is nearly dead and falls only to be caught by Goku who instantly arrives. Cell is baffled by Goku's speed and how he just disapeared. The Monster now searches for Juhachigo and the injured Jiyrokugo by blowing up island after island until only one remains.

Vegeta and Trunks now finally exit the Room of Time and Space with Vegeta saying that it's useless for the others to train at all. Also, Buruma arrives with specially made Saiya-jin armor for the soldiers. Piccolo and Tenshinhan, however, refuse to wear them since they were killed by Saiya-jin in the first place, and Vegeta takes off half cocked about fighting Cell. Goku and Gohan enter the room now so Goku can turn his son into a Super Saiya-jin and then have hin reach "that which surpasses Super Saiya-jin." Vegeta easily finds Cell and tells Trunks to only watch. Cell is surprised by Vegeta's arrival and the Saiya-jin prince reaches an extreme level of power. Now he pummels Cell like a rag doll.(He's twice as strong as Cell now..) Jihachigu can't belive her eyes, and as a result of Vegeta's ego, he allows Cell to absorb Juhachigo (18). Cell is now perfect,(3 times stonger than before) and knocks Vegeta out. Trunks now has the chance to fight. He waited for Vegeta to be knocked out so his father wouldn't see his own son surpass him. Trunks is at Ultimate Saiya-jin form, or rather like Brolly. He IS stronger than Cell, but the problem with this is that his form is too slow, and it's not a real transformation, it's just a way of gaining power but leaving the body the ssame. Cell now has even greater speed than before. We can all tell that Trunks wasn't successful, and Cell gives ten days beofre he holds Cell Game, the tournament to save the planet. Now Goku has pushed Gohan to reaching Super Saiya-jin and is still training him. But will it be enough..?
