New Years Eve Party 12/31/02 - Lexington Holiday Inn South



Since retiring from the National Football League, JR Hardin has fronted the fabulous Sensations for over twenty years. The big kahuna is a pro's pro blessed with a great voice and magnetic stage presence. Recently crowned Miss Louisville, Kata Rhe Gillispie's talent was often showcased. Later in the evening she played her fiddle and delighted the audience with an exciting version of The Devil Went Down To Georgia.




Guitarist Bud Chowning rocked the house with a his bluesy hot licks. The beautiful Wanda Bennett posed with a fan from the audience. Bassist Gene Noel was a crowd favorite when he sang La Bamba and Brown Eyed Girl. He always takes time out for fans to sign autographs and pose for photos.




David Hall delivered some serious sax work on his Selmer Mark VI tenor. Earlier in the evening he played soprano sax, alto sax, and ewi. Robert Moser wowed the crowd with his Fergusonian high notes in the stratosphere. He is known throughout Kentucky for his powerful lead trumpet chops. He is also musical director and stage choreographer for the group.




Drummer Anthony Key has laid down the beat for the Sensations for 15 years. Since his marriage to Tish upon his arrival in the US from Uganda, AK has held the groove for many parties. The multi-talented Harold "Jerry Lee" Sherman cooked on the keys as he sang on one of his features.
