Advance and Retire (8 bars) - Couples stand facing each other and do 2 skip-2-3's forward, then 2 back-2-3's and repeat.
Advance and Pass Through (8 bars) - The same as advance and retire, but on the second 'advance', one couple forms arches and the other couple dances through them.
Lead Around (16 bars) - Done with couples of 4. Each couple dances counterclockwise doing skip-2-3's with the gents in the centre (kind of like a pinwheel). They dance for 8 bars; on the 7th bar they drop hands and turn around on the 8th bar. Then they travel back in the opposite direction for an additional 8 bars.
Rings (16 bars) - The dancers form a circle and sidestep clockwise and then back counterclockwise(cut-2-3-4-5-6-7, back-2-3 and back-2-3, and back-2-3-4-5-6-7 and back-2-3 and back-2-3 and repeat in opposite direction).
Sidestep (8 bars) - Partners sidestep and exchange places by doing sevens. In reel time they end with 2 back-2-3's and in jig time with a rise-and-grind. The partners switch places with the gent going behind the lady first and then they dance back to their original spots with the lady travelling behind.
Swing Around (8-16 bars) - Partners take hands and face each other. Then, while doing skip-2-3's clockwise, they travel counterclockwise in a half/full circle back to their original spots
Cast off (8 bars) - Done in dances where the dancers are in two longer lines. The first person in each line does skip-2-3-'s dancing away from and down the line and everyone follows them until all are back in their original spots.
Hands in the Centre (8 bars) - Four people dance into a circle and place their right hands in the centre. They dance around clockwise four 4 bars, then drop their right hands, pivot, place their left hands in the centre and dance counterclockwise for 4 bars and fall back into place.
Box (16 bars) - Done with 4 people. Dancers exchange places with their partners (doing sevens and 2 back-2-3's), but instead of going back to their original spot, they do sevens to the next spot over (on a diagonal from their original spot), and then over to the next spot once again (now directly opposite their original spot) and then finally back into place.
Full Chain (16 bars) - Dancers 'weave' while giving their alternating hands to each person. So, they give their right hand to their partner, then their left hand to the next person and so on, all the way around until they end up back in their original spot.
Hook and Chain (16 bars) - Dancers link elbows with the person beside them who is not their partner, then they turn back and meet their partner and then proceed as they would in a full chain until they fall back in place.
Double Quarter Chain (16 bars) - Dancers hold right hands with their partners and dance around for 2 bars. Then they give their left hands to the next person who is not their partner and dance for 2 bars. Then they give their right hands to their partner again and work their way home for the remaining 4 bars. This movement is repeated going the other side.
