Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance

This is Michael Flatley's dance show. After the break-up with Riverdance he has come back, better than ever and it shows. The show is fast-paced, tantalizing, exciting, and breath-taking. Few faults on the editing though. The shots change so quickly you can't really grasp what the dancers are doing exactly.

Feet of Flames Hyde Park

Michael Flatley wanted something bigger for his farewell show in 1998. And boy did he go all the way with his dance extravaganza. One hundred and three proffesional Irish dancers, large stage, and well over 25 000 fans in the historic Route of Kings, Hyde Park in London. With new numbers, costumes, and even MORE pyrotechnics it was Show-Time. Amongst the new numbers is a beautiful hardshoe solo done by Bernadette Flynn, called "Saoirse", also known as "Dance of Love".

Michael Flatley's GOLD

It had been quiet in Michael Flately's corner for quite a while. But in 2000 he returned with his totally new show called 'Feet of Flames 2000'. New story-line, dancers, everything. After his European tour had finished he brought out the DVD called "Michael Flatley's Gold".
It was a celebration of him, and all the things he had done for Irish dance all over the world.
He tells his own story starting from him growing up in Chicago, to the Pyrotechnics at the end of his 'Feet of Flames 2000' tour. It includes clips of him dancing with the Irish music band "The Chieftains", The Eurovision Song Contest of 1994, Riverdance the Show, Lord of the Dance, Feet of Flames 1998 and several numbers from his latest show.
It gives you a very nice feeling, as it is a fun DVD to watch, and gives you a peek of the man behind the dancer.

Magic of the Dance

By chance I ran into this DVD, and for a while I doubted if I would like it. I bought it anyway. Boy, had I done the right thing. It is sheer BRILLIANCE. If you've had enough of the sweet sugar of Lord of the Dance, then I really recommend this DVD. It's completely different from Lord of the Dance. Why? Well for one, the Lead Choreographer, Michael Donellan, plays the Bad character in the show.
Michael Donellan started out with Lord of the Dance then joined Riverdance, to later create Magic of the Dance.
Other lead dancers are Orla Griffin, Collette Dunne and David Moore. It contains American Tap, Swing, and Irish dance, and sketches with the Audience, which are really nice.
