"I'll get her for this!" He muttered as he was
left alone to his thoughts of despair and revenge for Aurora. Sometime
in the afternoon a guard came and let AJ out on Aurora's orders. He was
taken to his room where he changed. Because of the lack of things to do,
AJ was forced to sit by himself and just stare at the ceiling. It was then
that he noticed something in the corner of the room. It was a desk. When
AJ went over, he found paper, and ink well, and a feather for a pen.
Getting a few ideas, but mostly because of boredom, he started writing.
He wrote poems and even documented what was happening and what he was feeling.
He really couldn't decide if he despised the woman, or if he loved her.
He had been writing for quite some time
when there was a gentle knock at the door. AJ
got up and opened it to find Aurora standing there. He scowled and went
back to his desk. Aurora entered and shut the door.
"AJ, we need to talk."
"I'm not talking to you. Last time I did, I got thrown in a dirty diseased cell."
"Listen I'm sorry about that."
"What ever."
"We can't go on like this. Fighting. We just can't."
"Then what do you plan on doing about it?" Aurora only shrugged.
"Why don't we just ignore each other? It's a big castle." Aurora shook her head,
"You know that isn't going to work. I hate you too much to ignore you!"
"I thought you just said that you didn't want to fight!"
"I changed my mind!"
"Why are you acting so bitchy?"
"Because you make me so mad! You always say things to either get me upset or to hurt me and I hate you for it!"
"Yeah, well I hate you too! Do you hear me Aurora Jackson? I hate you!"
"See, there you go again!" She pouted.
"ME?! You started it!"
"Who cares who started it?" This time it was AJ who pouted.
"I do! You said you hated me first!"
"Well I can't help my feelings!"
"Neither can I!" AJ said and with that he stood
up and taking Aurora by the waist he pulled her near and
kissed her hard on the lips shoving his tongue
in her warm mouth. Aurora was so surprised that at first she couldn't react.
Then she didn't know how to react. Finally she did react. She kissed
him back making it one of the most passionate kisses in the history of
time. All of the anger the two had built up, disappeared and was replaced
by feelings of joy and love in both of them. When they pulled apart, they
stared at each other both surprised and shocked, but most of all they were
breathless. After a moment of staring at each other speechless, they started
at it again. Kissing the other as hard as they could, the two were engulfed
by their kiss. AJ's hands held tightly to her around her waist as he kept
her body close to his. Her hands went on his head, roughly running her
fingers through his hair. They were interrupted by a knock on the door.
They quickly pulled apart from each other and Aurora smoothed her gown
as AJ called for the person to enter. A servant came in and bowed when
he saw Aurora.
"Supper is ready."
"Okay, thank you" AJ said. He turned to Aurora,
"I'll be just a minute, then we'll go to dinner." He disappeared into an
adjoining room. Aurora then glanced at the desk and noticed the paper AJ
had been writing on. She picked up a piece and read the poem. Her
mouth fell open and she gasped a bit.
"What are you doing?" Aurora turned around, guilt
clearly written on her face.
"I-uh, well I just happened to glance over and
help but see it...I'm sorry. I shouldn't have. But It's
such a beautiful poem." AJ then whispered,
"That's because it's about you"
"What? Really?"
"Yea, it's about you." He blushed a bit. "Come on. We better get to dinner before it gets cold."
"Yea." She said and followed him out. Dinner was unusually quiet. Thomas and Gregory had joined them so Aurora and AJ were prevented for talking about what had happened earlier in his room. Later that night as Aurora prepared for bed, there came a knock at the door. She opened it and smiled as she let AJ in. She wore a nightgown similar to the one she had worn last night, but this one was a violet color. AJ had on a large robe, but from what she could tell, only had boxers on underneath.
"What are you doing here?"
"I didn't want you to get scared. So I figured I save you the trouble and come to you."
"That's sweet of you."
"Aw, I know! Man that bed's huge!"
"Probably where they get the modern phrase 'king
size bed' comes from. Only us royalty get beds like this!"
She giggled.
"So let's go to bed"
"Oh, so that's what this is about! You just wanna get lucky, don't ya McLean"
"Is that really so bad?" She hit his arm playfully,
"We're not having sex. Not tonight anyhow." He arched an eyebrow
"So there's hope?"
"I make it a rule not to sleep with anyone on the first date. And we technically have not been on a date," She laughed teasingly. "Besides, we don't have any protection"
"Hey, number one-we had dinner, and number two"
He reached into the pocket of his robe and pulled out a
condom.
"Never leave home without it!"
"Okay, but we never finished our date, and so now you ADMIT to coming here trying to get lucky!"
"I can see this is going to turn into an argument isn't it?"
"Why don't you stop it before it starts then?"
"Alright, I will" He said leaning in and kissing her. The kisses grew in intensity, but Aurora pulled away.
"Come on. I'm tired." She said pulling him to the bed. He got in after shedding his robe and she laid down on his chest and closed her eyes while he played with her hair. Just before she fell asleep, she whispered, "AJ, do you really think it'll work between us?"
"Of course."
"How do you know?"
"Your name. You see, Aurora was a Roman goddess who had a passionate love affair."
"Mmmm. So this is my passionate love affair? I guess so. Maybe Brian was right." She mumbled without even realizing it.
"What do you mean? What did Brian say?"
"When I broke up with him, he said something about me wanting you and us being meant for each other."
"Do you think that Mark guy knew?"
"I think he did. I think I understand everything now. I think his job was to get us together."
"Maybe."
"Good night AJ" "Good night Aurora" He said and
leaned his head back against the cool pillow to fall asleep.
