FAVORITE POETRY AND WRITINGS

These are my favorite pasttimes:

Thank You

I want to thank you for everything.
When you created the world,
You wanted us to turn to you in our time of need.
We turned to ourselves and forget about you,
Until we are facing death
Creator, Great Spirit, God--
We call you by different names.
We seem to forget about you until
We need you the most.
I want to thank you for everything that you have done.
Thank you for the animalls, flowers, trees, grass, water, air.
Thank you for our lives and making each of us unique in our own special way.
Thank you for teaching us as we grow.
Thank you for being patient while we are selfish.
I want to thank you for everything.

New Life

The beginning of life is here.
The joy of a couple is here.
I wish I could see the development
But I'll see the finished product.
Life is a common day appearance,
Somehow birth by itself is a miracle.
A miracle shared by two people.
God bless thee and me with such a miracle.

I'M FREE

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm follwing the path God laid for me,
I took His hand when I heard him call
I turned by back and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to live, to work or play,
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found that place at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy,
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things, I too, will miss.
Be not burdened with time of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow
My life's been full, I savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Life up your heart and share with me
God wanted me now, He set me free.

"DO NOT WEEP FOR ME"

Do not weep for me.
Do not weep for me for I have lived. I have flown with magic Dolphins weightless beneath the sea. Do not weep for be for I have given. I have joined my hand with my fellow's hand to leave the planet in better than I found it.
Do not weep for me.
Do not weep for I have loved and been loved by parents, brothers, sisters by those who I have loved me back but I never knew a stranger only friends.
Do not weep for me.
Do not weep for me when you feel the ocean spray upon your face, I am there. When your heart beats faster than a Dolphin's leaping grace, I am there. When you reach out to touch another's hear as I now touch God's face, I am there.
Do not weep for me--I am not gone.
Highway to Heaven-Michael Landon

PRAYER TO GOD

Dear God, starts a Child's prayer,
Dear God, please listen to my prayer;
Is there peace, Dear God, for the world.
Please hear this prayer.
Dear God, Heavenly Father, let there be peace soon.
I'll pray for peace everyday not for me but for the world.
Amen, the child finished his prayer.

Our Father in Heaven, begins another prayer,
Somehow guide us to peace.
We tried on our own but it did't work,
So please, dear God, guide us to peace.
Amen.

Dear God, Heavenly Father;
The prayers always begin the same.
Peace is what the prayers are for.
Young or old, they ask for God's help;
Pray for peace is all they ask for.

Dear God, Heavenly Father,
Please let there be peace and guide us to it.
Amen.

THE PAIN

Everything is gone
Everyone is gone
I do know where
Oh how I wish that I could go
How I hurt
The pain is to much
I wish that I could have
Taken their place
The decision that had to be made
Will they ever forgive me
The pain the pain
Oh how it hurt
The tears flow
At any time for any reason
I must be strong
I cannot show that I hurt
I must be brave for those who are still alive
Doesn't anyone understand
Must I grieve all alone
I cannot say goodbye
I love to deeply
The pain Oh God the pain
It hurts God it hurts
Will the pain ever go away
Will there be a time I will not feel guilty
For now the tears flow
The pain is still here
The hurt of saying goodbye
I hate Death with a passion
It brings on more pain than living does
Someday this pain will go away To wash away the guilt sorrow and pain

SPRING IS HERE

Spring is here, The rain has been coming down, Birds are singing, Spring is here.

Spring is here, Flowers bloom, Trees turn green, Spring is here.

Spring is here, The air is fresh, The time for a new birth, Spring is here.

Spring is here Love is in the air, Everything is new, Spring is here for a while.

RAINBOW BRIDGE

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

RAINBOW BRIDGE, SEQUEL

Oh, when we get to Heaven
We hope that we will find
The Souls that once we loved, Who left us all behind.
Some left us at the right time,They left this world in peace.
Others left too sudden,Without the chance to say Goodbye.
They were gone before we had, the chance to even cry.
There's a special place for grownups, A special place for kids;
Me, I'll be on the other side,The side called Rainbow Bridge.
Across the dark green meadow,
A top the hills I'll run.
Where the colors from the Rainbow,Glitter from the sun.
And there I'll find my sweetheart running fast toward me.
In my arms, where he belongs,
FOR ALL ETERNITY

NEVER KNOWING

Never knowing where I'm going
Vaguely remembering where I've been
The road turning into an endless ribbon
Signs along the sides looking like a
continous blur of letters
Remembering to stop once in awhile for one thing or another
Time on the clock turning into my only enemy
Never to sure which side my dispatcher is on.
The weather always changing just like the scenery
Going forward, going backward
Turning left turning right
Which way is up or down?
Have I been in this town before?
Wish that I could really remember.

Native American Traditional Code of Ethics.

1. Each morning upon rising and each evening before sleeping, give thanks for the life within you and all life, for the good things the Creator has given you and for the opportunity to grow a little more each day. Consider your thoughts and actions of the past day and seek for the courage and strength to be a better person. Seek for the things what will benefit others (everyone).

2. Respect: Respect means "To feel or show honor or esteem for someone or something; to consider the well being of, or to treat someone or something with deference or courtesy". Showing respect is a basic law of life.

a. Treat every person from the tiniest child to the oldest elder with respect at all times.

b. Special respect should be given to Elders, Parents, teachers, and community leaders.

c. No person should be made to fell "Put Down" by you; avoid hurting others hearts as you would avoid a deadly poison.

d. Touch nothing that belongs to someone else (especially Sacred Objects) without permission, or an understanding between you.

e. Respect the privacy of every person, never intrude on a person's quiet moment or personal space.

f. Never walk between people that are conversing.

g. Never interrupt people who are conversing.

h. Speak in a soft voice, especially when you are in the presence off Elders, strangers or others to who special respect is due.

i. Do not speak unless invited to do so at gatherings where elders are present (except to ask what is expected of you, should you be in doubt.

j. Never speak about others in a negative way, whether they are present or not.

k. Treat the earth and all her aspects as you mother. Show deep respect for the mineral world, the plant world, and the animal world. Do nothing to pollute our mother, rise up in wisdom to defend her.

l. Show deep respect for the beliefs and religion of others.

m. Listen with courtesy to what others say, even if you feel that what they are saying is worthless. Listen with your heart.

n. Respect the wisdom of the people in council. Once you give an idea to a council meeting, it no longer belongs to you. It belongs to the people. Respect demands that you listen intently to the ideas of others in council and that you do not insist that your idea prevail. Indeed you should freely support the ideas of others if they are true and good, even if those ideas are quite different from the ones you have contributed. This clash of ideas brings forth the Spark of Truth.

3. once a council has decided something in unity, respect demands that none speak secretly against what has been decided. If the council has made an error, that error will become apparent to everyone in its own time.

4. Be truthful at all times, under all conditions.

5. Always treat your guests with honor and consideration. Give of your best food, your best blankets, the best part of your house, and your best service to your guest.

6. The hurt of one is the hurt of all, the honor of one is the honor of all.

7. Receive strangers and outsiders with a loving heart and as members of the human family.

8. All the and tribes in the world are like the different colored flowers of one meadow. All are beautiful. As children of the Creator they must all be respected.

Spring

Spring is here at last, Love is in the air. Along with a new birth Oh my darling, I love you more Than what I can express in words For there is no words for what I feel.

FROM DRAGONS ABOVE

From Dragons above
With all God's love
Me with you and you with me
Let our love always be
Nothing from below, between or above
Will separate our love

We can't be separtated from the other
From Dragons above
With all God's love.

From Dragons above
With all god's love
Together forever
to part never
Me to You , You to me
By god's love so mote it be
Toether forever
To part never
From Dragons above
with all God's love

TO MY DAUGHTER

Sugar & spice that is what girls are made of
But you are more of snips, snails & puppy dog tails
Until the age of thirteen you were my little tomboy
Then just over night you bacame a young woman.
The boys, you use to hit with a baseball bat
You have take a different interest in
The questions you asked are no
Longer in sports but about life
How can I explain the mysteries of
Life when I don't know the answer.
Each day I watch you grow trying to keep
one step ahead of you.
Now sit back & watch you with your
Little girl remembering the times
from your childhood.
I always wonder if I did the right
Things at the right times.
And you come to see me for advise
Or just say thank you,
Then I know that I did OK.

TO MY SON

To hold you after 9 months
What a thrill it was to touch a new life
To watch as you come forth from a
World of darkness to a world of
Light & wonder
You pushed so hard to come into
This world not knowing what it
Was about
I have watched you grow from a
baby to manhood.
Each time I see you, I remember the joy
You brought to my world
I gave you comfort for each little
pain that you received
I shared in your delight of the wonder
Your eyes beheld.
Each time you climb up on something
I would back my words of scolding
And coming to your aid
When you accomplish your climb up, I
Would share in delight because
I was right beside you.
Now as I look back upon my
Life I would never trade it
For another.
Because if I did, I would lose you,
My pride & joy.

TEARS

I get upset when you leave me.
I cry the night you leave.
We may argue but it is because I'm mad.
On the day you return, I cry for joy.
I cry because you are coming back to me.
The love we share is wonderful
I never had such an experience before.
My love for you is wonderful
And I'm glad that I'm in love with you.
I hope you love me the same way I love you
If you do
Then our love is wonderful

Death Such A Welcome Thought

Death such a welcomce thought
To lie in the endless sleep
Never to awake to a world of uncaring souls
To put an end to the living Hell
No one here amoung the living
Who really cares if I'm dead or alive
Always the loser never really
Winning at anything
Dreams never coming to fullfilment
Dreams always being snatched away
Wanting to live to the fullest extent
But never allowed to
Being constantly reminded that
It is never me
I know who I am but always
told that I am someone else
Just wanted to fullfill a dream
But the dream is taken away by
Someone else's anger
Reminded that I belong at home
Raising children, cleaning house and
Cooking meals.
Dreams are for children
Memories are for old people
Life is for the young
My life and dreams are now over
Death come & take me to the world
Of endless sleep
Where I don't have to dream no more
I have no wish to live like
Everybody else who can only dream
I want to live my dreams to the fullest extent
Now my dreams are over because
People don't like my dreams.
Death such a welcome thought

A CHEROKEE SAYING

Little things heal our hurts.
Sounds, scents, the spoken word, and music
that may mean nothing to someone else
can reach into our souls and do a work that
ordinary methods cannot touch.
Simple remedies heal the deepest ills
a love that springs from inner wells,
the sounds of birds
and the laughter of children at play.
Our work is to avoid the negative side
to think and speak only healing words,
loving words.
Choices are possible.
Though we make many of them a day,
we do it unconsciously
that we have not realized the effect
fretting about every little thing,
letting the world steal our peace,
and lying down when we should be up and doing.
Choose to be well, to find committment
and to be a role model for those who watch.
Listen for peace.
Listen! Or your tongue will make you deaf.
(This is taken from a Cherokee Feast of Days written by Joyce Hifler)

WAITING

waiting at the terminal
for a service or a load
being pleasant to the customer
for the boss's sake
arriving at the shipper an hour early
ending up waiting for 2 hours to be loaded
the load is hot, already 2 hours late
no time for anykind of rest
no time to eat & shower
only time enough to fuel
got to make that phone call - 3 hrs late
arrived at the receiver
miracle that I'm on time
make another phone call
to start all over again.

The Way I Feel

How can I tell you how I feel
There are no words to describe my feelings
I can say that I love you
But that would be a lie
For I don't just love you
But everything about you
the way you smile, laugh
But most of all
The way your eyes shine
They radiate the love that you have for me
I love to be near you every moment of the day
When you hold me close
I love you even more
Everytime you leave
I cry for I'm afraid that you won't come back
What I'm trying to say is that I miss you
But most of all
I love you
