('I Want You': part 25)

Nicole sighed as Ben paced up and down the corridor.
"Bloody hell, what are we to do without Danny boy?" said Ben anxiously. "Why would he just take off on us like that? He didn't even tell Darren where he was going!"
Karl looked at Ben. "Your making me dizzy, mate, with all your walking back and forth....calm down, Dan will be back soon"
Ben stopped and spun around to look at Karl. "And why are you so sure of that?"
"Because i know Dan, and he can't stay away for long"
"I still say we're lost without him" said Anna, looking down at the ground depressingly.

Darren brushed his hair quickly. Looking into the mirror at himself, he grew angry. "Damn you, you stupid bastard!" he screamed at his reflection. "Look what you've done! God only knows where Daniel is now! This is all *your* fault!!"
Walking out of the bathroom, he was somewhat relased of his self anger. He sat on the bed, tears coming to his eyes. "Daniel, where can you be?? God, just come back and let me apologize to you, let me say what i really want to say...please, that's all i beg of you"
Burying his face in his hands, he shook as he cried, letting out all anger and sadness.
Suddenly, there was a small noise. Startled to what it may be, Darren quickly looked up from his hands.
Daniel stood there, looking empty and lost, all color drained from his face.
Darren's heart skipped a beat. (Can this be true? has he come back?) he thought to himself, not beleiving the fact that Daniel stood only a few feet away from him.
He went to speak, to say something to Daniel, but no words left his mouth.
Instead, Daniel just stared at him with such a sadness in his expression, that Darren shuddered.
Silently, he walked over to his bed, picked up his bags and then walked back towards the door. "Goodbye Darren"
No! he couldn't let this scene happen again! He refused to let him walk away this time.
Standing up quickly, Darren ran up to him, and stood in front of him silently, afraid that if he didn't say something quickly enough that he might leave again.
"Daniel.." he said, his heart pounding quickly. "Daniel.....i love you too....." he stumbled with his words, finding it difficult to hold back his tears. "God....i love you more than i love anyone...and, God, i felt so terrible when you walked out like that...i thought i had lost you, and had lost the chance to tell you how i felt...and.." then he lost it. Tears rolled down his face as he stared into his best friend's eyes, at loss for words.
(he doesn't beleive me!) thought Darren. (I can see it in his expression that he doesn't beleive what i'm saying)
"Daniel...." he said, taking his hand. "I love you......and i don't know what i can do to make you believe me....God, i know what a jerk i have been to you and how i hurt you, and......i don't deserve you....and you're probably better off without someone like me.....after what i've done to you, i don't deserve your love.......i don't deserve to have someone as special as you...." he fell to the ground, weeping.
he felt as though the world had come crashing down on him.
Then, he felt Daniel's warm hand pat his back softly. "Darren..." he said, his voice breaking also. "Stand up.... and look at me..."
Darren obeyed, trying to look at Daniel without crying again, trying to look at that sweet face of his, to stare into those endless green eyes and to not turn away in shame and guilt.
Tears ran down both sides of Daniel's face as he looked at Darren, holding his gaze for several minutes in silence.
