Chapter 3
The next day they were heading to New York. Darren woke up and sneaked to Geovanna's bunk to do his daily routine. He'd always wake up early to rudely awaken Geovanna. He kneeled down beside her bunk and quickly opened the curtain. His smile disappeared when instead of seeing a beautiful woman he saw Daniel.
"Daniel! what are you doing here?"
Daniel moaned, "What does it look like I'm doing here," he wiped his eyes.
"Where's Geovanna?" Darren asked.
"Well the last time I saw her she was in my arms," Daniel yawned, "God my head is killing me."
Darren's heart started pounding. He got up and searched all over the bus for Geovanna. He found her coming out of the shower. He grabbed her arm and pulled her back into the bathroom.
"Hey! Somebody's feisty this morning," she says running her hands through her damp hair.
"Where were you last night?" he asked sternly.
"Washing your speedos remember," she smirks.
"I meant with Daniel."
"How should I know what Daniel was doing," she turned to the mirror to fix her hair.
Darren grabbed her by the shoulders and flung her around, "I meant did you fuck with Daniel!!!"
Geovanna's heart dropped. How could Darren assume such a thing.
"Did you?!!"
"No! let go of me will you!"
Darren looked deeply in her eyes. He let go suddenly realizing that he was hurting her. Geovanna massaged her arms where he had grabbed her. Darren looked at her suspiciously.
"Well what was he doing in your bunk?"
"Sleeping duh!"
"But...."
"I laid him on my bunk, he was too wasted to walk, much less to climb on a top bunk,"
"Well he said you were in his arms and....."
"He had his arms around me when he fell to sleep and I didn't want to wake him up," she explained.
"What was he doing with his arms around you in the first place," he asked suspiciously.
"If you must know...I was consoling him," she looked away.
"Consoling him?" Darren said doubtfully.
"He was crying like a baby last night Darren," she turned to face him,"he needed somebody to hold on to, and I was there for him... and I will always be there for him because I can sympathize with him Darren...because I know how it feels... I know how it feels to love someone so much and they don't love you back!" she turned away holding back the tears that were forming in her eyes, "You wouldn't understand."
Darren went to her and put his hands on her shoulders and whispered in her ear that gave her goosebumps.
"I know how it feels, I've felt it many times in my life and I know that I would of done the same if it was you who came crying to me. I'd go and beat up the guy who broke your heart."
If you only knew Darren, the guy is you.
He turned her around and gently lifted her face with his fingers.
"I'm sorry I misjudged you, I guess I get kinda overprotective when it comes to a woman I love."
"You love?" she whispered looking into his dark blue eyes.
"Yeah," he looked away not wanting to look into her eyes," as a sister I mean."
"So are you gonna let me change or are you just going to stand there and watch me," she smiled trying to change the mood.
"No go ahead, I don't mind," he sat on the toilet looking up at her.
She smiled. He looked so adorable with his angelic face. She knew that she had to put on a mask, not to show her true feelings. She'd rather have him as a friend than not have him at all.
"Well if you want me to spend the day with you, then you better get out, or else I'll go change in front of Daniel," she smirked.
"Hey!" he crossed his arms.
"I'm just kidding," she reached out and pushed him out of the bathroom.
"OH, I forgot I need to shave,"
"Darren!" she whined
"Ah c'mon, can't I watch?" he pleaded.
"No! Now get out," she shut the door.
"Well I feel wanted!" he yelled back in sarcastically.
He smiled when he heard her laughing. He went to his bunk to get his boots. He noticed his right hand. He had a bite mark from Geovanna when he was wrestling with her the other time. He thought about her and remembered how she got so defensive when she talked about love and being heart broken.
Who does she love thats causing her so much pain? Is it Daniel? Or is it.......
He looked at his fingers. Those fingers that touched her smooth face. He lifted them up to his lips, he could still feel the warmness the.....he shook his head.
Whats wrong with you Darren? Your fantasizing about another woman. Your married for crying out loud. I love Colby, I love... Geovanna? NO! then why do I get this weird sensation whenever I think about her, its probably just the food I ate last night.
He shook his head trying to erase the thought. He decided not to think about it that day. He planned to take Geovanna to see the Star Wars movie since she has never seen it. The only movie she's seen related to Star Wars was SpaceBalls the movie. Then he'd take her to Times Square.
"There's nothing wrong taking a girl out site-seeing," he said to himself as he walked out and headed to the kitchen to eat his breakfast.
