Lost in the Sea of Memories…
Chapter 1

	Nekki Basara watched in horror as the evolved protodevil reached out one of its long gruesome tentacles and grabbed hold of Mylene's valkery.
	"AHHHH~!" Mylene screamed out in pain as the tentacle squeezed at her valkery.  
	Gamlin fired and fired again at the protodevil but it still wouldn't let her go.
	"Help…me…" Mylene's face appeared on Basara's screen, there was blood streaming down the side of her face.
	"Hang on!" He screamed
	Flying directly in front of the protodevil, he started to sing.  His sound blasters gathered up the energy and shot out a beam at the protodevil.  It let out a gruesome wail, but still held Mylene tight.  "BAKA YARO!!  LET GO OF HER!!" sparks started to fly out of Mylene's valkery.
	"Basara!  The thing thinks it's a trash compactor! " Ray appeared on Basara's screen.
	Basara was too busy singing and didn't pay any attention to him, "Hang on Mylene…"
	Gamlin got ready to fire another missile. Ray say him and yelled, "NO!!  Her valkery is leaking fuel!! If you fire it'll…"
Too late…
	Gamlin fired the missile. Everything after that came in slow motion.  The missile came ion to contact with the protodevil's body, causing a small explosion… Just are Ray feared the fuel leaking out of Mylene's valkery caught fire and…
BOOM!
	Mylene's valkery blew up.  "NOOOO~~~~~~~!" Basara screamed.  A piece of Mylene's valkery smashed into Basara's screen, knocking him unconscious.

	"NO!  MYLENE!" Basara sat up strait.  Sweat pouring down his face.  He was in a bed, and it was dark. He sighed in relief.  It was all a dream, a bad dream.  The sight of seeing Mylene's valkery blow up still sent shivers down his spine.  It seemed so real…  Basara looked around.  Wait a minute! This wasn't my bed!  This wasn't his room!
	"Ah! Your awake" Basara turned to see a nurse standing behind him.  "Your injuries are not serious, but you were out for a… Hey! Hey! Where are you going?"
	Basara raced out of the room.  He was in the hospital!  Did that mean…?!  He shook his head.  It can't be real!  Just than, he saw something.  In a room he just ran by.  A girl on a bed.  No one besides *her* on this fleet would have hot pink hair… he stormed into the room.  Mylene lay lifelessly on the hospital bed.  He slowly walked over to her. NO, NO, NO, NO… it can't be real.
	"She's been like that for 4 days." Ray appeared behind Basara. "So have you." He looked tired and sad. Just than, Mylene fluttered her eyelashes. Ray's eyes lit up as he yelled, "She's waking up. She's waking up!"
	Doctors and nurses raced into the room. Mylene slowly opened her eyes.  Before any of the doctors got a chance to get close to her, Basara raced up to her.  "How are you feeling, Mylene?" he asked with deep concern in his eyes.
	Mylene looked at him, then at Ray standing behind him, then to the doctors and nurses to the side.  She turned back to look at Basara.  With a very puzzled voice, she asked, "Who are you? And what are you doing in my room?" she added.
	Basara took a step back looking stunned.  Ray put a hand on his shoulder to steady him. "Why don't you remember me?" Basara asked confused.
	"She lost her memory" one of the doctors stated calmly "she should start remembering bits and pieces in a few days.  She should be in and out a flash backs for a while."
	"If she doesn't remember you, you should explain to her who you are and how you fit in her life." Exclaimed another doctor who just walked into the room.
	After that said Ray walked over to Mylene's bed.  "Hi Ray. What am I doing here and who are all these people?" With that said Ray almost fell down but Basara pushed him away and stuck his face in front of Mylene's. "Who are you?  What the hell are you doing in my room? I though I told you to get OUT!?"
	"How can you remember Ray but not me?" he yelled now very confused.  
	"Why should I?" Mylene yelled back.
	"What? Why you little BRAT!!!"
	"BAKA!!!!"
	Just than Ray walked between the exploding two.  He than explained who Basara was, making sure to leave out that they argued a lot. He than left them to talk it over them selves.
	"I'm sorry, it's just…" Mylene hesitated than remembered what ray had told her "…well everything is so new to me and scary.  I don't know how I got here or who my friends and family are I don't even know what Ray was talking about when he said Fire Bomber"
	Basara felt sad about yelling at her till the last sentence sunk in through his thick scull.  *she cant remember Fire Bomber* "Fire Bomber? You don't remember Fire Bomber?"
	"Nope, don't remember a thing care to tell me what I'm missing?" she asked with a smile.
	Basara took a deep breath then started to explain while outside the door Ray thought *Why aren't they fighting. Maybe this new start will help Basara tell his true feelings for her.*  Whit that thought Ray started grinning till he heard shouts on the other side of the door.  Veffidas looked at Rays shocked expression and started laughing
	The doctors told Ray they wanted to keep Mylene in the hospital for at least a week,  and said they would inform her parents that she woke up for him.  The doctor left and with that the phone rang.  Mylene's room fell quite as Ray walked in.  It was Mayor Milla on the screen.  Mylene looked to Basara with a frightened look he walked over to her bed and whispered in her ear "It's your mother" Mylene just nodded
	Mayor Milla wasted no time asking questions, "Who?  What?  Where?  When?  Why?…"
Ray stopped her and said, "Mylene has lost her memory from her valkery blowing up.  It happened 4 days ago when we fought the last protodevil"
	Mayor Milla looked Back at her daughter "How are you feeling?  I will send a doctor over there right now to examine you…"
	"Wait, I have already been examined and I don't need to do it again for the fun of it." Mylene interrupted
	Mayor Milla looked stunned by her daughter's outburst. "I see you have lost your manners as well as your memory Mylene." With that she quickly hung up the phone leaving a very stunned Mylene, Ray, Veffidas and Basara on the other end.  Basara was stunned mostly to what Mylene had to put up with.  He had always thought Mylene had complained too much but this he couldn't believe he felt sorry for doubting her
	The phone rang again startling Mylene quite badly.  Ray answered to phone to give her a chance to pull her self together.  It was her father Captain Max.  Ray put him on the screen.
	"Hello Mylene" came a gentile voice "I'm Max your father". With that said she tensed up quite a bit.  Max could tell his wife had phoned earlier.  "I was told you were hurt and in the hospital.  I just wanted to see if you were all right and if you wanted or needed anything?"
	Mylene relaxed a little; "I feel much better thank you"
	"Good, Good"
	A nurse walked in and said visiting hours were over.  With that Max said good-bye and hung up.
	"Why are my parents so different?"  Mylene asked.
	"I don't know."  Ray replied.  "Well we should be going, right Basara?"
	"Huh?"  Who was deep in thought "Oh yeah we should go.  Get some sleep Mylene you need your strength."  With that he was out the door.
	Ray gave Mylene a shrug then left after Basara.  Veffidas followed suit she patted Mylene on the head and left following Ray.  Mylene lay back in her bed letting out a huge breath she had been holding for quit a while now.  Finally after a while she dozed back to sleep.

	Mylene opened her eyes.  "Where am I?" she thought out loud "I'm not in the hospital anymore that's for sure."  Mylene looked around her.  Stars, other ships…and a huge ugly thing!  *I'm in a valkery!* Mylene thought *but why am I here?*
	A face came onto her screen.  "Mylene!  Sing we need your help!"  Yelled Basara.
	"I'm part of Sound Force and you are too!" Basara answered.
	"Something's not right," Mylene said.  "This Basara is way nicer than the one I met in the hospital.  He wasn't this patient with me."  While saying that, Mylene had flash backs of all the times Basara had yelled at her.  Pinching herself to get out of the daydream, she instead woke herself up from her dream. 
	"Ouch!!!"  Mylene sat up.  She looked around the dark room and noticed someone sitting in the chair by her bed. 
	"Are you okay?" asked the figure.
	"I'm fine, who are you?" asked Mylene.  The figure turned on the light by her bed.  Mylene flinched as the bright light hit her eyes.  After her eyes got used to the light she saw whom it was sitting in the chair.  "Basara!"  She exclaimed.
	"Hi."  He replied
	Feeling mad at hem for coming into her room again she asked, "How'd you get in?"
	"Snuck in," Basara answered, looking as if he'd done it before.
	"Why are you here?"
	"Just making sure that you don't wake up after a nightmare with no one here."  Basara said but the look on his face wasn't very convincing.
	"You just want me to remember you, isn't that right?"  Mylene asked
	"Partly" Basara replied, picking up his guitar.  "Any requests?"
	"I don't remember any songs."
	"Never mind than."  Basara said.  Basara started to sing 'Light the Light'.  Mylene fell asleep as the song acted as a lullaby.
