Title History: The British Bulldog is a former Intercontinental champ, a two-time tag champ, and the first ever European Champion. In 1986 , the Bulldog, along with partner the Dynamite Kid, defeated the "Dream Team" of Brutus Beefcake and Greg Valentine to claim his first WWF accolade, the Tag-Team Title. The reign lasted until January 26th 1987, when The British Bulldogs lost the belts to the Hart Foundation. The Bulldog, alongside Owen Hart, recaptured the belts some 10 years later by defeating the Smoking Gunns. Owen and the Bulldog lost the tag-team belts to Shawn Michaels and Steve Austin on May 26th, 1997. As a singles wrestler, Davey Boy Smith, in his native land of London, England, was victorious over Bret Hart at Summerslam 1992 to become the WWF Intercontinental Champ(.avi). Unfortunately, his reign was short-lived as he was defeated by Shawn Michaels only a couple of months later. On the February 26th, 1997 Edition of Monday Night Raw, Smith became the first ever European Champion by beating brother-in-law Owen Hart in Berlin, Germany. (.avi)
The British Bulldog is still the current holder of the European Title.
Major Feuds: Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Bobby "the Brain" Heenan, Haku, The Warlord, Yokozuna,
Ahmed Johnson
Major Matches: Davey Boy Smith's matches have all been hard fought, but some of them were just too epic to leave out on this page. The challenging Bulldog was unsuccessful in a title match against Bret Hart at an In Your House PPV Event, but the match was one of the bloodiest and most exciting ever. The Bulldog lost controversially to Shawn Michaels at In Your House: Beware of Dog in a WWF title match. He has competed in several huge Survivor Series Tag-Team Elimination Matches, including one in 1987 where he "survived" with the Killer Bees and the Young Stallions. At the 1995 Royal Rumble, he entered #2, and was eliminated by the only man left in the ring, Shawn Michaels, who consequently won the match. This was his best showing in a Rumble , as he survived 27 WWF Superstars!
