Welcome
To The Circle.
....Within a heartbeat the man invited me into the circle, my hands weresymbolically bound at the wrists with ceremonial cord. Taking me in his strong grasp he proceeded to present me to the mighty ones at each point of the compass. By now my knees were shaking as we turned and walked together to the altar where upon my feet were tied at the ankle, thus I was bound in the presence of all. Sinking heavily to my knees I lifted my face to the starry heavens above, the moon cast its illumination across my skin as I swore that from this day forever more I would be faithful to the craft. Slowly I closed my eyes tight as I basked in the moonlight, my soul singing as though finally it had been freed to its higher purpose. The sound of footsteps approaching me jerked me violently from my thoughts, turning I looked up at the man. "It is time to be purified" he said, I remebered learning about this and nodded as I looked to the sword in his large hands. Taking the sword he touched it to me forty times before claiming I was purified of the evil lurking in my body. The man then moved away from me and placed the heavy sword next to the altar as I whispered my allegiance to my brothers and sisters of the craft. My eyes were once again drawn to the man with the steel eyes, looking at him I saw a smile spread gently across his lips, he nodded to me in recognition. His eyes softened, his approach slow and purposeful as he came towards me one last time, I lowered my head at his command and he consecrated me with a mixture of oil and wine. Reaching down a soft hand the man cupped my chin and raised my head, pressing his lips to mine in a ritual kiss. "Welcome" he said, I looked at him, my own lips mouthing back 'thank you'. It was then that this man, the High Priest of my coven finally turned and made his way back to the altar, arms raised as he thanked the God and Goddess for attending my initiation.
