The next week passed by quickly for Kevin and the guys, as well. They got alot of writing done and were planning on all meeting together in Orlando to start the recording process. Lila visited just about every day to have lunch. So when on Brian, Howie, AJ, and Nick's last full day there and she didn't show up, they got a little bit worried. "Maybe she just got caught up with something..," AJ pointed out as they all sat around Kevin's living room.
"I don't know AJ..she would have called or something..," Kevin said.
"Well DAD why don't YOU call HER?"
The other three watched with interest as AJ and Kevin exchanged a few looks between themselves. Kevin finally sighed and pulled himself from the chair and walked into the kitchen to use the phone. "Score one for AJ.," Howie said quietly.
AJ just grinned while the other guys laughed quietly amongst themselves so Kevin wouldn't hear them too much.
Kevin dialed Mary and Jack's house number and waited for someone to pick up.
"Hello?"
"Lila?"
"Hi Kevin.."
He frowned a little, she sounded really weak, "Are you okay? We noticed you didn't make it for our daily lunches?"
"I just got home about an hour ago from the hospital--"
"The hospital?! What happened? Why didn't anyone call me?"
"Kevin..let me finish.."
"Sorry.."
"It's ok, false alarm. I've been put on bed rest though..and on top of that, I'm sick."
"Damn..I'm sorry."
"Me too...I feel like crap..so I've been sleeping since I got home."
"Did I wake you?"
"Well..kinda, but it's okay. I'm getting bored."
"You're on bed rest?"
"Unfortunately."
"Damn.."
"Yeah..how BORING."
He smiled, "Well..are Jack and Mary there?"
"No..they had to go to work.."
"Well..would you mind if we all came over to bug you?"
He could hear the smile in her voice, "Not at all, I'd love that Kev."
"Ok..we'll be there soon, ok?"
"Ok..the doors open."
"Cool..see you then."
"Bye Kev..and thanks."
"Not a problem."
Kevin hung up the phone and went back into the living room. "What do you guys say we move this little party to Lila's?"
"Why? Is she okay?," Brian asked.
"She apparently had a false alarm and is sick, on top of that, so she's been ordered to bed rest."
"Ouch."
"Yeah..so, she said she was bored, so I told her we could come over and keep her company."
AJ stood up, "Sure, let's go."
All the other guys agreed and got their things together.
Lila was wrapped up in all her blankets that were on her bed when the guys arrived. Kevin knocked and poked his head around the corner of the door, "Hey, you decent?"
"As decent as I'm gonna get."
He grinned and stepped in, "We brought you something too.."
"You didn't have to do that!"
The other guys followed with bouquets of flowers in each of their hands. "Oooooh! You guys didn't have to do this!"
AJ planted a kiss on the top of her head, "We want you and the little one to get to feeling better, and women love flowers so we thought, why not make a quick stop on the way over?"
"Well, I appreciate it nonetheless. Umm..Kevin? Would you run downstairs, and in one of the cupboards should be some vases to put those in?"
He nodded, "Sure, D, come help me."
Howie nodded and took the flowers from Brian and AJ while Kevin got Nick's and they went downstairs.
The guys situated themselves around the room and Lila began to ask them about how the writing was coming along. "So,will you all record here or go home?"
"Most likely go to Orlando. We've got a studio there that we've used before and it's comfortable.," Brian replied.
"Ooohh..are you all anxious to get into the studio and get the album out?"
"I'm just anxious to get back on the road. This sitting around doing nothing stuff is killin' me.," AJ said with a smile.
Lila smiled, "Well, I'll definitely have to come see you all in concert."
"Yeah, you will...we'll give ya the hook up.," Nick said.
"You'll have to."
"Oh?"
"yeah..I know secrets about you all that ANY girl would LOVE to know."
"Like?," Nick countered.
Lila grinned as Kevin and Howie re-entered the room and sat down. "Well, Nick, you like to watch Soap Operas and seem to have a fondness of One Life to Live."
"Do not!"
"Liar! I caught you all into talking to the tv the other morning!"
Nick blushed profusely but laughed along as the other guys began to laugh. "Okay, okay, I admit it, I do like SOME soap operas! But, think about it Lila, there are some days when we can't go out of the hotel at all and we're stuck cooped up with nothing to do and nothing else is on, so I started to watch SOME of them...they're actually pretty decent."
She nodded, "I know, I know, I just wanted to pick on you some."
He grinned, "Not a prob."
The guys stayed until nearly dinner time when Mary got home from work. Jack was working late and wouldn't be home until nearly 10 anyways. The guys had to deny Mary her dinner invitation but did promise to come back before they went on tour.
Kevin made sure Lila was all settled before he met up with the guys in the car. "You feel better?"
She nodded, "Yeah..I do actually..Thanks for you coming over, you all are definitely entertaining."
He smiled, "It wasn't a problem. I think we were getting cabin fever from staying at my place so long. Talk to you tomorrow?"
She nodded, "Yep..I'll be here."
He walked to the door, "Night Lila."
"Goodnight Kevin.," She replied.
