Kevin awoke to the incessant ringing of the phone. He groaned, reached over Madison, and picked up the phone. "Hello?"
"Kev? Its Amanda. Madison's not over there is she?"
"Yeah..she's asleep.."
"Oohhhh..Kevvy, what'd you do last night??," Amanda said in a joking manner.
"Funny Amanda, really."
"I thought so..so wake her up for me!"
"Why?"
"Duh, maybe I want to talk to her genius."
"Hold on a sec then, okay?"
"Fine.."
He pushed the hold button and laid the phone on the table before gently nudging Madison awake. "What?," She asked sitting up a little.
"Amanda's on the phone..she wants to talk to you."
She nodded and took the phone from Kevin before standing up. "Hi Amanda."
"Hey girl..sorry to wake you but this is important. Wanna come to the mall with me and Leigh?"
Madison fought off a yawn, "Sure..how is that important??"
"Duh! Because, we all need to shop anyways..think of it as a girl's day out..okay?"
"Alright..what time should I be ready?"
"Well..we'll come over about 1..okay?"
"Okay..I'll see you two then."
"Alright, bye girl."
"Bye Amanda."
Madison set the phone back in its cradle and trudged upstairs and into Kevin's room. He was sprawled out across the bed on his stomach, trying to go back to sleep. Madison picked up a rejected pillow from the floor and walked quietly over by him. She stood on the oak trunk sitting in front of the bed and lifted the pillow over head, and brought it down on his back. "There is no way you're going back to sleep if I'm up!"
Kevin jumped up, glared at her, and then tackled her onto the bed tickling her. Madison pulled one of his arms overhead, trying to get away from the tickling attack. "KEVIN!"
He laughed, stopped tickling her, and sat up. "That was just plain mean."
She grinned, "I know.."
"I should punish you.."
"Yes, you should."
"But I won't..not this time.."
"Oh how sweet."
"I know..," He said leaning down and kissing her.
"If thats what I get for being bad, I don't know if I'd like to see what I got for being good.," She said sliding past him and into the bathroom.
"Ohhh Madison."
She laughed and shut the door behind her, then opened it back up. "What?," Kevin asked.
"I keep forgetting this is not my home. I gotta run home and get some clothes..if Amanda and Leigh show up, tell them to wait?"
Kevin nodded, "Sure."
She smiled, found her keys, and then kissed him, "Thanks.."
"Hurry back.."
"I will..twenty minutes tops."
Twenty minutes later, Madison pulled back up into Kevin's driveway and parked. She walked up the driveway and knocked on the door. It was a habit.
Kevin pulled it open and looked a little confused, "Why didn't you just come in?"
She shrugged and walked in further, "I dunno..its a habit."
"Oh. Well LeighAnne called and said they're on their way over. By the way, where are you three going?"
"The mall."
"Oh..is it that important?"
"Probably not but I have an urge to shop."
"Ohhh..buy me something?," He asked smiling.
Madison laughed as the doorbell rang and she opened it to see Amanda and LeighAnne. She kissed Kevin quickly, "Ummm..I don't think so."
"Geez Amanda, could you drive a little faster?!"
"Yeah...want me to!?"
LeighAnne and Madison exclaimed in unison, "NO!"
Amanda laughed, "I was just kidding, gosh."
As soon as they were parked, the three women made their way into the mall. "Umm..dumb question, why so many screaming 12 year olds?," Madison asked as she was nearly run over by two young girls pushing them out of the way.
Amanda peered through the crowd, "I have no clue."
LeighAnne nodded, "Me neither..let's go check it out."
They walked farther into the mall, and the crowd of young women and girls got bigger and louder. "Thats not who I think it is, is it??," LeighAnne asked.
Amanda nodded, "Yep..its them.."
"Who?"
"Look Madi.."
Madison's jaw drop as she caught sight of Dave..with Johnny Wright and N'Sync. "Do not even tell me he's managing N'Sync now.."
"I bet he is."
"Oh hell no..how is that fair?! He steals the Backstreet Boys' money and get re-hired as N'Sync's new assistant manager and I am just dating Kevin and I'm immediately out of a job?! Oh hell no!"
"N'Sync will learn when their money starts disappearing.," LeighAnne said.
Madison was fuming. Life may not be fair, but this was the last straw. She glared at him and wasn't all that surprised when Dave caught her eye and smirked. Then, he turned to the group and Johnny Wright, said something, and then jumped off the 'stage' where the group was signing autographs and made his way towards her. "Well what a nice surprise..how are you Madison?"
"Bite me Dave."
"I'd love to. So, what brings you three lovely ladies to the mall?"
"Maybe..shopping? Duh.," Amanda said.
"What Dave? You're finally managing a 'group' again? Awww..they can't be that big if they're still doing mall tours.," Madison said.
Dave smirked again, that annoyed the hell out of Madison to no end. "Least I can get another job. Awww..poor little Madison is out of a job..but hey, least now you can mooch off your boyfriend."
"Shut up Dave..you know nothing and you can do nothing."
He smirked again, "Oh, but dear, I have the upper hand in this game and eventually I'll win."
"Ohhh Dave, a threat? What would your dear little group think of you threatening a poor defenseless woman?"
"Please Madison, you are not defenseless and you're not as innocent as you think you are. And in the right time, it'll come out that you're not innocent in the least."
Dave turned and walked back to Johnny. Madison took a deep breath before speaking, "You guys..I'm sorry..but I really don't feel like shopping right now..could you take me home?"
LeighAnne and Amanda exchanged a glance before nodding. "Sure sweetie..I'll drop you off..come on."
