AJ helped Taylor up the stairs and into bed. She fell asleep almost instantly. He closed the door and went downstairs to talk to his mom.
"What happened AJ?"
"False alarm.."
"Oh..is she okay?"
"Yeah..just tired..she went to sleep about as soon as she laid down.."
"What'd her doctor say?"
"Straight to bed..thanks for picking up Nicky and Chris.."
Denise smiled, "Its not a problem. I've gotta get going..call if you need anything, okay?"
"Okay..bye mom."
"Bye."
Taylor flipped up her laptop and pressed the 'on' button. She waited till the dialog box came on, typed in her username and password, and waited for it to load. AJ opened the door, "Hey..you're up.."
She looked up and nodded, "Yep."
"How you feeling?"
She sighed, "Better.."
He smiled and sat on the edge of the bed, "Thats good..want some breakfast?"
"Hell yeah.."
"Okay..want..umm..eggs, bacon, and orange juice?"
"Yep."
"K..what are you doing?"
"I've gotta e-mail something to my boss, then work on this report on one of the clients.."
"Okay..you're staying in bed though.."
"I know AJ..now go fix breakfast."
"Okay, okay..I'm going."
She smiled and watched him go out of the room.
A second after the door closed, it opened almost immediately. Two short, brown heads poked in and looked up towards Taylor. "Mommy?," Nicholas asked.
"Yes?"
"Can we come in?"
"Of course..here, I'll make room for you up here..come on."
They jumped up onto the bed and made themselves comfortable. "Mommy?"
"Yes Chris?"
"How come grandma came and got us yesterday and you didn't?"
"Well..I thought your baby sister was coming.."
"Ohh..but she didn't?"
"Nope..she's not ready yet. Turn on the tv Chris and see whats on..," She said handing him the remote.
"Is that why you're in bed now?"
"Yeah..my doctor told me to stay in bed for awhile and take it easy.."
"Can we help you take it easy?," Nicholas asked.
"Sure..let's watch tv for now..k?"
"Okay..can we watch Power Rangers?"
"If its on.."
"Yes!"
"AJ?"
"Hmm?," AJ said still half asleep.
"Are you awake?"
"Uh huh."
Taylor smiled into the darkness, "You don't sound like it.."
"I am now..what?"
"Can I talk to you?"
"Now??"
"Uh huh.."
He sighed and yawned, "Yeah..whats wrong?"
"Nothing really..I'm just kinda..scared.."
"About what?"
"Everything.."
"Oh baby, don't be. Everything's gonna be fine. We're gonna get through this.."
"I know..but there's still that one percent of doubt.."
"No doubts..okay?"
"Okay..I'll try to stop doubting and worrying.."
He smiled, "Good..is the baby moving?"
"She always is.."
"Lemme see.."
She laughed lightly and placed his hand on her stomach. The baby kicked him hard at least twice. AJ laughed, "I don't think she likes me.."
"How could she not? You're her dad.."
"I can't wait to see her..I bet, she has your eyes.."
"Hopefully she'll have my hair..then she'll at least have some..," Taylor teased.
"Funny.."
"I thought it was.."
"Sooo..can we now go to sleep?"
"Yes..I'm sorry I woke you.."
"Its okay..," He said kissing her gently.
"Okay.."
"Night baby.."
"Night.."
