"AJ! Would you just open it!!," Taylor exclaimed exasperated.
"Fine..fine..I just want to make sure that we want to know what the baby is.."
"Well I do and if you don't open it, I'll take it from you and see for myself and won't tell you.."
He held it protectively against him, "No, no, no. I want to open it!"
"Then do it!"
"Calm down Taylor..you know what the doc-"
"I know what my freaken doctor told me! OPEN IT!"
He tore off the seal of the manila envelope and pulled out a peice of paper, then a sonogram picture. He looked at it and smiled, "Look, its our baby.."
She smiled, "How cute..what's it say?!"
He laughed, "Patience is a virtue my dear.."
She smiled, "AJ..I'm six months pregnant..you tell me now, or you die."
"Okay..okay..geez. Blah, blah, blah..stuff we already know..dude! Where's it say it!?"
"Ugh..give it to me!," She said taking the peice of paper from him.
"Fine...sorry, its confusing!"
"Sorry AJ..okay, here it is..its a..wait, guess.."
"Guess!? But you..oh nevermind..fine, I guess its a..girl."
She smiled, "You're right."
"Nu uh!"
"Yes, its a girl!"
"WOOHOO! What do I win?"
"My undying respect, I don't know AJ..geez!"
He laughed and kissed her, "I can't believe we're gonna have a little baby girl.."
She smiled, "Me neither..in 3 months.."
"Three months..I don't know if I can wait.."
"Let's go look at the baby room..Maria was helping earlier this week.."
"Taylor..you know-"
"I know..I wasn't really doing anything. I was typing an e-mail to my boss anyways."
"Oh..okay..I don't want you to stress yourself out.."
"I'm not..I'm free as a bird.."
"HA! Whatever!"
"You watch it mister."
He laughed, "Yes ma'am!"
"Anyways..we finished painting that light blue color we picked out.."
They looked around, the room was almost finished and ready for the new baby. "What about names?," He asked leaning against the doorframe.
She sat down in the rocking chair by the window. "I don't know..I haven't really thought about it.."
They heard the front door open and the two boys trooped in. "Daaaddd!! Nicky threw a stick at me!," Chris said coming into the room.
"Nu uh! Did not!," Nicholas protested also coming in.
"No throwing sticks, anymore. Whether you did it or not. Its time for you all to come in anyways.."
"Okay..," Chris said.
"Okay..," Nicholas echoed.
"Is this the new baby's room?"
"Sure is..what do you think?," Taylor asked.
"I like it! When are we going to have a new baby?," Nicholas asked.
"Pretty soon.."
"How soon is pretty soon?"
"Three months..about..70 episodes of Blue's Clues.," AJ said.
"Whoa..thats alot!"
"It is..come here Nicky..," Taylor said.
Nicholas walked over and Taylor placed his hand on her growing stomach. He jumped back, surprised, as the baby kicked his hand. "WHOA! What was that?," He asked in a hushed whisper.
"Thats your baby sister.."
Chris wandered over, also placing his hand on Taylor's stomach. The baby kicked him too and he laughed, "Thats cool!"
Taylor laughed, "It is cool, huh?"
"How'd the baby get in there?," Chris asked.
Taylor and AJ exchanged a look, they knew this was coming..they just didn't know..really how to explain it. How could you explain it to two four year olds??
Taylor finished typing up another letter to her boss and pressed the send button. She had to work out of the house, since her doctor wanted her 'stress-free' and stuff. She flipped on the tv to some talk show and proceded to fold the laundry sitting on the couch beside her.
The front door opened and AJ walked in carrying bags from McDonald's. "Hey..," He said leaning down to kiss her.
"Hey yourself..what are you doing here?"
"We weren't too busy and I figured I'd stop by and see how you were doing.."
"Me and her are doing just fine.."
He flopped down on the couch beside her and handed her a thing of french fries and a filet of fish and a diet coke. "Thats good..what time should I pick up the boys?"
"Around 1:30."
"Okay..you know, I was thinking of some names earlier.."
"Sounds like you were productive at the studio..," She said smiling.
"You know it..How about...Madison..as a first name.."
"Where'd you come up with that? I like it.."
"Kev was talking about his neice, Madison, and it just seemed to fit.."
She smiled, "I like it..how about..umm..Madison Leigh?"
"Madison Leigh McLean...perfect.."
"It is..wow..that was easy."
"Yep..sure was.."
"What time is it?"
"12:45.."
"You should get going if you want to pick up the boys.."
"True."
"I'll walk to the door..," She said getting up.
AJ pulled on a pair of sunglasses and the two walked to the door. "We'll be home 'bout 1:30 then.."
"K.."
"You sure you're okay?"
"Yes..now go.."
She held the door open as he kissed her and walked down to his car. She cried out as a sharp pain tore through her like a knife.
AJ looked up to wave and saw her grip the door tighter. He pushed the door open and ran up to her. "Taylor? What's wrong?"
"I..I don't know..oh God! AJ!"
He helped her into the car and started towards the hospital, never being more afraid than he was at that moment.
