The next day, Taylor was standing outside of the boys' preschool, waiting for them again. Maria came with her, and brought her and Kevin's one year old daughter Alycia. "So, did you go to the doctor?," Maria asked.
Taylor nodded, trying to keep the smile off her face.
"And??"
Finally, the smile broke out and Maria squealed. They both started to laugh at how they were acting. Maria reached over and hugged her, "That is soo great!"
"I know..AJ was getting all excited last night..he didn't know what to do with himself!"
"Soo..how far along?"
"Two months.."
"That is so great. I'm so happy for you all! Did you call AJ?"
"Yeah..he like screamed and then started to laugh. I asked him what happened and he said that all the people in the studio were looking at him weird.."
Maria laughed, "Everyone looks at AJ weird!"
"I know.."
"What time is it?"
Taylor looked down at her watch, "Almost 1, they'll be out shortly.."
"When do you think you'll tell the boys?"
She shrugged, "I have no idea..we may wait a little bit..I'm not sure if they'll understand.."
"They might..just ya know, the umm..basics or whatever. It'll be exciting for them to have a little brother or sister.."
Taylor nodded, "Yeah..I know.."
The doors opened and the children piled out. Again, Nicholas and Chris ran out together. "Lookie mommie!," Nicholas said holding up a peice of paper.
Taylor took it from him and looked at it, "What is it Nicky?"
"I drew a picture of me and daddie and mommie and Chris!"
"Very good..we'll give it to daddy later, okay?"
"Okay!"
Maria put Alycia into her car seat and then helped Nicholas in the back. "What'd you do Chris?"
"I drew a picture of Uncle Nick and Uncle Howie and Uncle Kevin and Uncle Brian and daddy!"
"We'll have to give this one to all of them, okay?"
"Okay!"
"Alright..get in the car and we'll head home.."
"K!"
Taylor drove home and they all went inside the house to get some lunch.
"Would you rather have a boy or girl?," Maria asked as they fixed the kids lunch.
"I don't know..I'd be happy with either..but..I kinda want a girl..just to, you know, have one of each.."
"Thats true..I know Kev would like a boy..but I think we'll wait a little while.."
"Oh yeah..I think its better to wait at least a year.."
Maria nodded, "Yeah.."
"Chris, Nicky, come in here and eat!"
The two boys ran in and got in their chairs. Taylor set a hotdog in front of each of them. Maria set Alycia on her lap and proceded to feed her sliced apples.
Taylor and Maria watched as Nicholas and Chris ran around playing with all five of the guys. "I wish Alicia, Jane, and Jayde could of come..," Taylor said.
"I know..but Alicia's sick, Jane's out of town, and Jayde's visiting her parents.."
"Oh yeah..thats right.."
"Look, Nicholas almost caught Kevin!"
They laughed as AJ and Nick ran into one another, not paying attention, and landed in a heap on the ground. Nicholas and Chris were laughing at them. "You think thats funny, huh??," Nick asked getting up.
Chris nodded his head vigorously, "Yep!"
"And what about you little man?," AJ asked looking at Chris's mirror image.
Nicholas laughed, "It is funny daddy!"
"I think we should get them..," Nick said looking at AJ.
"Oh yeah.."
"You two better run!"
The boys screamed, laughed, and ran off. AJ and Nick were right on their tails.
Brian, Howie, and Kevin walked over to Taylor and Maria and sat down. AJ caught Nicholas and swung him over his shoulder. Nick did the same with Chris. Both boys were laughing the whole time.
AJ tucked Nicholas into his bed and then did Chris the same way. "Daddy?"
"Yeah Nicky?"
"Can we go to your stu..stu..studio with you?"
"We'll see..I'll ask the others okay?"
"Okay..I want to go with you.."
"Alright..we'll see, okay Nicky?"
"Okay..night night daddy.."
"Night Nicky.," He said kissing his forehead.
"Daddy?"
"Yeah Chris?"
"Where's mommy?"
"Probably getting ready for bed, why?"
"Will she come say goodnight to us too?"
"Yep..she'll be in soon..can I tell you guys a secret?"
"Yeah!," They both answered.
AJ laughed, "Me and your mom have a surprise.."
"What kind of surprise??," Nicholas asked.
"Welll..how would you two like to have a little brother or sister?"
"That be cool..," Chris said yawning.
"Where'd you learn that?"
"Uncle Nick.."
"Oh..I shoulda figured.."
Nicholas smiled, "I'd like that daddy.."
"Well..in about 7 months or so..you two will have a little brother or sister.."
"Really??"
"Yes really..," Taylor said from the doorway.
Nicholas and Chris looked towards her. "Really mommy?"
She nodded and sat on the end of Nicholas' bed, "Yep.."
"Is it a baby sister?"
"We don't know yet.."
"How long is 7 months," Chris asked.
AJ laughed, "Probably..100 episodes of Blue's Clues."
"Whoa! Thats alot!!"
"Okay you two, you all need to get some sleep.."
"Okay mommy!"
"Night night you two.," She said kissing each of them.
"Night night mommy!"
AJ did the same, "Night you two.."
"Night daddy!"
"Night dad!"
AJ closed the door behind him and looked at Taylor smiling. He pulled her close to him, "I think they're very excited.."
"I do too..I can't wait.."
He put his hand on her still flat stomach, "Me neither.."
