AJ had been having this wonderful dream where he was on the beach just letting the waves roll over his feet and he didn't have a care in the world. Then, everything came back in pictures. Him driving to the studio, picking up his cell phone to call Kev, him dropping the cell phone like a real genius. He had leaned down to pick it up and pressed the number for Kev's cell phone once again. He looked up to keep himself on the road and switched lanes to pass the car in front of him. He saw the semi-truck, just thinking it was a regular semi-truck. He got ready to switch lanes again to pass him. The truck suddenly slammed on his brakes and the trailer swung out to the left. He remembered putting on his brakes, but it was too late.
He groaned as a sharp pain tore through him. 'What the hell is happening now?! I don't think I'm dead..am I?,' He thought as another pain tore through him.
"AJ?? Can you hear me??," He heard Taylor's far away voice asked.
He tried to talk but couldn't. There was this bright light in front of him, so he started to walk towards it. With every step, the pain intensified.
"AJ?? Come on man, wake up.."
'Thats Kevin! Dude, what is happening? Am I coming out of it??,' He wondered as he continued towards the light.
Taylor sighed and fought off a yawn, "He's moving alot more.."
"Yeah..I think he's in alot of pain.."
"I would be too.."
"Yeah.."
She yawned, "I'm so tired.."
"Take that chair over by the window and prop your feet up..I'll wake you up if anything happens.."
She smiled, "Thanks Kev."
"No problem."
She pulled the chair over by the window and sat down. She put her feet up on the windowsill and curled up into the chair, and tried to fall asleep.
The light was alot brighter now and the pain was numbing. He knew he was going to come out of it and see Taylor. He was going to get to see what were his injuries. He just wanted to see his family and friends. To let them know he was going to be okay..he was going to live.
He opened his eyes, finally, and blinked at the brightness of the room. He took a deep breath, all on his own, and let it out slowly. He turned his head and saw the room was empty. Where was everyone?? He knew he was in a hospital, duh, but he couldn't figure out what happened to everyone. He glanced towards the window and saw a figure curled up in the uncomfortable hospital chairs, asleep. He smiled, Taylor.
He opened his mouth and fought the words out, his throat was so dry! "Taylor?"
Taylor's head jerked up and she almost fell out of the chair. She looked behind her, expecting to see Kevin, instead saw AJ looking at her. She jumped out of the chair, "You're awake!"
He nodded, "Yeah.."
"Don't talk..wait, one minute..I'll go get the doctor, okay?"
He nodded and she ran out of the room.
