A few days later, Taylor had finally gotten over the bug. Chris showed no signs of it so everything went back to normal. They were now somewhere in Nevada, heading towards Las Vegas.
Kevin had the video camera (everyone was beginning to think it was attached to him) and was taping the twins. Chris was standing up with the help of the couch. Taylor sighed and stood in the doorway, "Kev..they're not going to walk today.."
"You don't know that..I wanna get it on tape."
She rolled her eyes and smiled, "You may miss the concert if you're going to wait around to see if Chris or Nicholas walks.."
"So be it.," He said going back to the camera.
She sighed, turned around, and walked towards the front of the bus. Nick sat on the couch there reading a magazine. AJ sat across from him listening to his headphones. Brian and Howie were both taking naps back in the bunks. Jane had to fly back to Orlando, as did Alicia, for work.
Taylor plopped down next to Nick. "Hi Nicky.."
"Hey..whatcha doin'?"
She shook her head, "Nothing..what are you reading?"
"A video game magazine.."
She smiled, "Figures. You got your laptop here?"
He nodded and pointed, "Yeah..its up there."
"Can I get on it?"
"Sure..just sign on under guest and then use your screenname."
"Duh, I do know how to work a laptop.," She said laughing and sat down at the table.
AJ opened his eyes and looked behind him, he flipped off his cd player, "Hey..I thought you were in the back with the boys."
"I was but Kevin is having too much fun videotaping them."
"Oh..he still has that thing on?"
"Yep.."
"What're you getting on?"
"I'm looking to see if Jane or anyone's on.."
"Oh."
Taylor signed on and sure enough, Jane and Alicia were both on.
J778: Hey girl!
Star55: Hi Jane, whats up back in O-town?
J778: Nothing..its raining..like thats new. How's everyone?
Star55: we're all doin' good..where'd alicia go, she was just on?
J778: don't know..oh, she signed off..she may not of seen you get on.
Star55: Oh yeah.thats true. How's work goin'?
J778: Okay..I wish I was out there w/ you guys though. You all in Las Vegas?
Star55: On our way there..okay, someone put on 'larger than life' on the speakers..i'm guessing we're almost there.
J778: lol! Thats on on 106.7!
Star55: lol, whoa..that's just freaky..
J778: Yeah...so, did AJ dye his hair?
Star55: lol..yes! its blue! He looks like a smurf!
J778: oh dear..lol..least brian doesn't do anything too drastic to his hair
Star55: true. sometimes I wonder bout aj..
J778: Ten bucks says he's watching you write that
Star55: rofl! Is he that predictable? Oh wait, yes he is..oh yeah, Nick says hi.
J778: Tell him I say hi back. I gotta get off and go get some dinner or something
Star55: K talk to you later
J778: Okay, tell the others I said hi, and tell brian to call me later if he gets a chance
Star55: Will do, talk to you later! Tell Alicia I said hi, as well as the other girls
J778: Okay, later!
Taylor waited a minute and Jane signed off. "I am NOT predictable!," AJ said defensively.
Taylor kissed him quickly, "Aww poor baby.."
He smiled, "Do I really look like a smurf?"
"Yep."
"Oh."
"Hey you guys!! COME HERE!!," Kevin yelled.
AJ, Taylor, and Nick all exchanged a look before bolting to the back of the bus. They got there in time to see Chris let go of the couch and take a step towards the door before falling down. Nicholas was watching, and decided he could do it if Chris could, and stepped away from the couch. He took about two steps before falling. Both boys looked awfully proud of themselves and looked up at their parents and others. "Holy-"
"AJ..watch your language.," Taylor said stopping him.
"Sorry, but they walked!"
"I know!"
"So now they're walking..I know, its going to be chaos..uh huh..yeah..okay..later, okay..bye.," Taylor said before hanging up.
"What'd your mom say?," AJ asked from the couch.
"The normal, oh thats great honey but I have to go. She doesn't care.."
"Sure she does..maybe she's just busy.."
"With what? She doesn't work. From Tony's last e-mail, she's met some guy.."
"Ohhh..what do him and your other brother think of that?"
She shrugged, "I don't know..I don't like it personally.."
He put his arm around her and tried not to yawn, "Call her tomorrow morning and ask her whats up."
"I might..you tired?"
He nodded, "Yeah.."
"Least you all get two days off.."
"Thats true..I'm so glad to..I plan on sleeping.."
She smiled, "Okay.."
He ran a hand through his blue hair and yawned again, "You feelin' okay?"
She nodded, "Yeah..I feel alright..I just wasn't hungry at dinner.."
"You never get that hungry on the road.."
"Thats true..You do."
"All the time.," He said smiling.
She rolled her eyes playfully, "I know.."
He kissed her neck, "What time is it?"
"Umm..11:30."
"We'll probably be heading out soon..I'm gonna go get my stuff together.."
"K."
He pushed himself off the couch and walked into the bathroom to get his things. Taylor stood up and gathered the twins' things and put them in their bag. She winced as a sharp pain tore through her side. AJ walked back in the room and noticed the pain on her face. "You okay?"
She sighed, "Yeah..I just got a sharp pain like right there."
"You're not sick again are you?"
"No.."
"Okay..just making sure. Is it gone now?"
She nodded, "Yeah.."
"Okay..I don't want you getting sick again.."
She smiled, "I don't want to be sick again."
Brian poked his head in, "The van's pulling out in 15."
AJ nodded, "K..we'll be there in a few."
"Alrighty.."
AJ turned back to Taylor, "You tell me if you're in pain or feeling sick, okay?"
"Yes doctor."
He grinned playfully, "We'll play doctor later."
She hit him and laughed, "You can be so perverted.."
"I know.."
"I know that too.," She said putting the bag over her shoulder.
"I'll get Chris."
"Okay..get that other bag..got all your stuff?"
"Yep."
"K."
He picked up the sleeping Chris and put the baby blanket over him. Taylor did the same thing with Nicholas and they walked out. Two bodyguards met them halfway to the doors and surrounded them. They walked out without much of a hassle from the fans and into the van. "I am convinced Chris is just like you AJ..he slept through all that screaming..," Taylor said trying to get Nicholas back to sleep.
AJ looked down at Chris, he was still sound asleep. "Maybe he'll be a singer.."
"Maybe.."
The other guys loaded into the van and they pulled away towards the hotel.
At the hotel, there were some fans in the lobby. The guys all agreed they would stop by and sign a few autographs. Taylor took the now awake Chris from AJ and carried him into the lobby. She forgot to get the key from AJ so she had to wait for him to finish with the fans.
A girl of maybe 15 walked over to her kind of shyly, "Hi..are you Taylor?"
Taylor nodded kind of slowly, you couldn't tell with some fans, "Yes I am."
"Hi, my name's Shea.."
Taylor shook the girls hand, "Nice to meet you."
"You too..I just wanted to meet you and say hi."
Taylor smiled, "Thats nice..did you go to the concert?"
"Yeah, I had nosebleed seats but even from there I could see just about everything, are those the twins?"
She nodded, "Yeah..this is Chris, and this is Nicholas."
"They are soo cute..how old are they?"
"Just over a year."
"Really? My little sister is just over a year. She's just learning to walk..I got the Rolling Stone with the article with you and AJ..."
"Did you like it?"
She nodded her head, "Oh yeah, it was a really well-done article I thought. It was real informative and let everyone know something about the twins. So, you touring around with the BSB this year?"
"For part of the tour. I don't think I can stay the whole tour, its too tiring, plus I'm starting another job."
"Ohh..well, I have to go, I'm sure my mom is outside waiting for me..thank you so much for talking to me."
"It was no problem, I'm glad you got a chance to meet the guys, and these two."
Shea smiled, "It was nice meeting you too..I really admire you for putting up with some of the stuff fans have said and all that.."
"Well, it gets hard but you deal."
"Yeah..I'd better go, thanks again!"
"Bye Shea!"
Shea waved and walked out of the lobby. Taylor smiled and stood up as she saw AJ walking over to her. "Who was that?"
"Just a fan..she was nice."
"Cool..let's go up and put these two to bed."
She nodded and walked with him towards the elevator.
Sometime around 4 a.m. Taylor woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. She was feeling sick again. It had been happening for the past two days, she just didn't tell anyone. She didn't want AJ or anyone worrying over her. She got out of bed, checked on the boys, and then walked to the bathroom. A sharp pain shot through her side again and she clutched the side of the sink as it passed.
AJ rolled over, expecting Taylor to be there, and woke up when he felt the pillow. "Taylor?"
He saw a light from under the bathroom door on and went to go check it out. He opened it and Taylor looked up. "You okay?"
She nodded, "Yeah..I think I am sick again though."
"Why?"
"I've felt kinda bad the past couple days.."
She took a step and wobbled as she got dizzy. AJ put his arm around her waist before she could fall. "You're burning up.," He noticed putting his hand on her forehead.
"Your hand is cold!"
"Come on, you're going back to bed, and later I'm taking you to a doctor or something..we've gotta figure out whats wrong with you."
She nodded as he helped her back into bed. The thing was, she didn't want to know what was wrong with her.
