Taylor and AJ were still going strong, even though they saw less and less of one another. Taylor had dropped out of the local college but had enough credits. She had moved in with AJ(duh) too. AJ and the rest of BSB were busy working on their new album and a new U.S. tour.
It was a hot day and since it was sunny, Taylor was out back working on her tan and reading a book she hadn't gotten around to reading. She didn't hear the door open or AJ call her name because she was so engrossed in the book.
'Okay..the door was unlocked..her car is in the driveway..where is she?,' AJ wondered.
He spotted her sitting out back in a lounge chair reading a book. Her hair had been bleached by the sun and gave her amazing highlights. She was wearing her bathing suit and that showed off her great body. A grinned and put his things down. He opened the screen door and walked outside, surprised that Taylor still didn't look up. He walked behind her and suddenly covered her eyes with his hands.
"What the hell!?," Taylor exclaimed jumping.
AJ bent down, smiling. "Shhh..guess who?," He whispered.
Taylor grinned, "I dunno..umm..Ben Affleck?"
"Nope..guess again.."
"Umm..okay..I know this one..Carson Daly from MTV.."
"No."
"Okay..last guess and I swear its right..that guy, Bob, that I went out with last night.."
"WHAT?!!?," AJ exclaimed pulling away from her.
Taylor dropped her book, laughing, and stood up. "I was joking!"
"You better be.," He said pulling her to him.
"How are the guys?"
"Good."
"Cool..how was your day?"
"Boring without you there.."
"Awww..always the sweet talker, huh?," She asked smiling.
"But of course.," He said before kissing her gently.
She pulled away and smiled, "I missed you.."
"I missed you too.."
"I had no clue what was going on when I woke up and you weren't there..you could of woken me up.."
"You looked too cute sleeping..plus it was like 7:30.."
"Oohh..so, what do you want to do tonight?"
"I dunno..maybe, stay in?," He asked raising his eyebrows.
"I don't think so..I wanna go do something!"
"Okay..like what?"
"Thats just it..I dunno..here, come inside. Its too hot out here.."
He followed her into the house. "How about we go rent some movies and pick up some dinner and come back here?," He asked.
"Okay.."
"Really?"
"Yeah.."
"Okay..Can I pick out whatever I want?"
She smiled and leaned against the counter, "If you want to."
"YES!"
She laughed and went upstairs to go change.
AJ left to go to the movie store and pick up something to eat. Taylor had just gotten out of the shower and was brushing her hair when the phone rang. "Hello?"
"Taylor? Whats up?"
"Hey Little Man!"
"Will you quit calling me that??," Nick asked laughing.
"No way! Whatcha up to Nicky?"
"Not much..is AJ there?"
"No..he just went out to go pick us up some movies.."
"Oh."
"How come?"
"Well..David has some stuff he wants us to look over for the tour and we're supposed to have a meeting tonight.."
Taylor stopped brushing her hair, "Oh..I guess that ruins the night for relaxing.."
"I'm sorry Taylor..it was so last minute, I had to drive all the way over here from my place.."
"Thats okay..call AJ on his cell and tell him."
"Okay.."
"And tell him that me and him can rent movies some other night.."
"Okay..sorry Taylor.."
"Its okay Nick..I'll talk to you later.."
"Bye Taylor."
Taylor hung up the phone and sighed. 'Just once I'd like to be able to spend a day with AJ without someone interupting us..,' She thought.
AJ heard his cell phone ring as he pulled up into the movie store's parking lot. "Hello?"
"AJ? Its Nick."
"No..really?," He asked sarcastically.
"Funny..look, we got a meeting with David tonight.."
"Now?! But..me and Taylor are--"
"I know..I just talked to her. She said to tell you that you and her can do the movie thing another night.."
"Fine..I'll be there in a few.."
"K..see ya man."
"Yeah.."
AJ hung up the phone and felt like punching something. He pulled out of the parking lot and drove towards the studio.
Taylor was downstairs reading her book. She looked at the clock and noticed it was almost midnight. 'Where is he?,' She wondered.
She finally got tired of waiting for AJ and went upstairs to bed.
AJ tried to come in quietly, but it was almost impossible. The house was dark so he knew Taylor had gone to bed. 'She's probably pissed off now.,' He thought as he walked upstairs.
AJ pulled off his shirt and then his pants, leaving only his boxers. He climbed into their bed as easy as he could. Taylor rolled over so she was facing him. "Where have you been?," She asked.
"The meeting ran late baby..I'm sorry about tonight..," He said kissing her forehead.
She sighed, "I guess its alright..what was the meeting about?"
"Well..the album is about done and it'll be released next month..then we go on a U.S. tour.."
"So you're leaving in two months?"
"Approximately."
"Oh."
"Taylor, don't be mad..please..," He said pulling her to him.
"I'm not mad..really. It just sucks sometimes 'cause we can't act like a normal couple. We can't go out that often because what if someone sees us? What if a fan sees us kiss or whatever? Sometimes I feel like a third wheel, there's you, there's the group, there's the fans..and finally, me."
AJ's face creased with worry, "Baby..you know thats not true..I love you..I love spending time with you at home..I love spending any kind of time with you.."
"I know you do AJ..And I love you too.."
"Don't get your pretty little self all worried..listen, next month the guys are going to Kentucky, to Kevin's ranch. They wanted us to come with them..you want to? We can just relax.."
"Really?"
"Yeah..his ranch is practically out in the middle of nowhere.."
"Okay.."
"Okay..then we'll go..now come here, and let's get some sleep..," He said pulling her closer.
She smiled and snuggled herself beside him. AJ draped his arm across her waist and kissed her neck gently.
