The next month had come, everyone was heading to Kevin's ranch in Estill County, Kentucky. Taylor wasn't the only girl though, Kevin's girlfriend, Marie, Brian's girlfriend, Jane, and Howie's girlfriend, Alicia, had all come along.
Kevin showed everyone where they would be staying. Taylor and AJ were staying in a room that overlooked the spacious field in the back. She was standing at the window when AJ wrapped his arms around her from behind. "Isn't it gorgeous?," She asked.
"It is..but not as beautiful as what's standing in front of me.."
"AJ.."
"What?"
"Nothing..I love you."
"I love you too baby..now, isn't this relaxing?," He asked stepping away from her to look out the window.
"Yeah..it is..Kevin has quite a place here.."
"Yep..and look at this weather, it can't get much better!"
"Thats true..let's go out and see what everyone is doing..," She said taking his hand.
AJ let Taylor lead him down the stairs and out to the front porch where everyone was lounging around.
The next couple of days passed quickly and were very relaxing for everyone. But the next week turned bad. The weather had gone from perfect to stormy. But, as Kevin and Brian told everyone, that was how the weather in Kentucky always was. Alicia, Marie, and Jane had decided to go into town with Brian, Howie, AJ, and Kevin. Taylor didn't feel like going, and neither did Nick. The sky was gray and it looked as if a storm would come any second. AJ and Taylor were up in their room. "Taylor, are you sure you don't wanna come? I feel bad leaving you here..," He asked.
"I'm positive AJ..plus, I'd feel bad leaving Nick here all by himself. We'll be fine..as long as no storms come.."
"I forgot..you hate storms, don't ya?"
"Yeah.."
"Don't be scared baby..nothing bad will happen.."
"I know..Nick challenged me to a game of Mario Cart.."
"Aren't you good at that?"
"Yeah..," She said smiling.
"Good..maybe you can beat him."
She laughed and they went downstairs. Everyone left then, in two cars. Nick set up the video game system and plopped down on the floor. Taylor did after a minute and took the controller he handed her.
They had been playing for nearly an hour, both leading at one pont, when the wind began to pick up and rain started pelting the house. "Nick?"
"Yeah?"
"Maybe..we should quit and watch the news or something.."
"Okay..you scared of storms?"
"Yeah.."
"Okay..it'll be alright Taylor..Nothin' will happen.."
She sat up on the couch and pulled her knees to her. "I know..but I just have this fea rof sotrms.."
Nick nodded and turned off the playstation and turned on the news. He sat up on the couch with her. There was a loud clap of thunder and a flash of lightning and then the lights went out, right as the weatherman was about to say how severe the weather was. Taylor yelped and grabbed onto Nick's arm. "Ow! Taylor, let up on the death grip!," He exclaimed.
"Sorry Nick.."
"Its okay..I think Kev said he kept some candles around here somewhere and a radio..," He said getting up.
Taylor could hear him moving about the house. He lit a couple candles and set them up so they could see. He then found a radio and turned it on. "There is a Tornado warning for Woodford County, Jackson County, and Franklin County.," The DJ said.
"Oh great..isn't that near us?," Taylor asked.
"I don't know Taylor.."
The rain suddenly stopped, as did the wind. Taylor got up off the couch and looked out the door. "It stopped..," She said.
"Yeah..but somethings not right..," Nick said looking out too.
"Does the sky look green to you?"
"Yeah..shh..listen to the radio.."
"There is now a Tornado Warning for Estill County as well as Franklin, Jackson, and Fayette. This means that a funnel cloud has been spotted and you should get to a safe place a.s.a.p.," The DJ said.
Taylor gasped and pointed. In the distance, a large tornado cloud could be seen. "Holy shit! Come on Taylor!," Nick exclaimed and grabbed Taylor's hand.
Nick grabbed a candle and Taylor got the radio. They ran through the house as the wind suddenly picked up. Nick opened the door to the basement and they ran down the stairs. "Get in the bathroom! Now!," Nick ordered.
Taylor opened the door to the bathroom and went in. She set the radio down and started to shake violently. Nick came in with a large blanket and shut the door. They sat down in the bathtub and Nick covered them with the blanket. "Nick? I'm scared.."
"Its okay Taylor..it'll be over before you know it.."
They could hear things moving around upstairs and the windows crashing as they blew out. They covered their heads as the sound became almost deafening. The roof blew off with the force of the winds. Something smashed into the bathroom door, breaking it.
