The court was adjourned for a lunch break. The big group walked down the street to a small restaurant. "Taylor? You okay?," Alicia asked.
"Yeah..I'm just hungry..," She replied.
"Okay..you know, you did good up there. You gave good answers.."
"Thanks.."
They all sat down around at least three tables. Taylor ordered a hamburger and french fries, everyone else got similar orders. A took her hand underneath the table and gave it a small squeeze. She smiled at him. "You doin' okay little one?"
"Yeah.."
"Okay..you did fine. That attorney is just trying to pull a fast one but you kept your head.."
"I guess.."
"You did, okay baby?," He said brushing a strand of hair out of her face.
She nodded, "I know..thanks AJ.."
"Just remember, we're goin' to Vegas!"
"I know..I can't wait! I've never been."
"Really? Well, we're just gonna have to par-tay!"
She laughed, "Sounds good.."
Soon their food came and everyone drifted into silence as they ate.
They headed back to the courthouse after lunch. Taylor was dreading having to go back in there. AJ took her hand as the judge came back in the room and sat down. "Has the jury reached a verdict?"
"Yes your honor.," A short, blonde haired woman said standing up.
"Please bring me the verdict."
The woman did so and the judge read it to himself before speaking. "The plaintiff is guilty. He will serve no more than five years in a county jail. I will say one thing for you Mark Jamieson, you are a disgrace to all men. Because you ruined a good woman who tried to stand by you. You will forever live with what you did."
Taylor let out a breath she had been holding in. AJ squeezed her hand and smiled at her, "I told you, you coulddo it."
She smiled, "I know.."
Everyone had pretty much left the courtroom. Taylor hugged him tightly, "Thank you."
"You're welcome baby.."
They walked out of the courtroom and out to his expedition. "So, you ready for Vegas?," He asked as they drove home.
"Yeah..I think so."
"Good..we're gonna leave tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. and are going to stay at the MGM Grand. I arranged for my mom to watch the pets for us. She agreed that we both need a vacation."
"I agree with her then. I just wanna relax..and maybe lose some money.."
AJ laughed, "Me too."
The next morning, everyone was at Orlando International Airport. They had all checked their things in and were getting ready to board.
Once on board, everyone drifted into their own conversations. Taylor turned to AJ who was reading a magazine, "So..what are we gonna do first?"
"I don't know..probably unpack.."
"I meant..after that."
"Well..whatever you want.."
"Okay.."
"What do you wanna do?"
"I don't know..maybe..just walk around for awhile.," She said.
"Okay..we can do that."
"Cool!"
Almost 4 hours later, they landed. They took a van to the MGM Grand and had different rooms. Taylor dragged her suitcase and duffle bag down the hall, followed by AJ who had double what she had. "Come on! Its right here..," She said dropping her bag.
"Oh thank you god!," He exclaimed when he got in the room.
Taylor laughed, "Thats what you get for packing so much!"
"Oh be quiet and come here.," He said pulling her to him.
She laughed and kissed him gently. "I've missed this.."
"Missed what?"
"Being goofy with you and kissing you...and kissing you.."
"Oh really now?"
"Yep.," She said kissing him again.
"Ya know? I could get used to this.," He said leaning against the door pulling her with him.
"Mm..me too.."
"I love you Taylor..you know that, right?"
She nodded, "I do. And I love you too.."
"Good..," He said grinning.
"One thing I can not stand about you is the sunglasses! You've worn them since like kindergarten I bet!"
"I have not!"
"Whatever..I wanna see those eyes of yours."
"Get them off then."
She slid them off of his face and he blinked at the light. "Its bright in here.."
"Ya think?"
"Be quiet.," He said tickiling her.
She laughed and pulled away. "Let's go walk around AJ..please?"
"Okay..let me get some other shoes on."
"K."
