It was Wednesday, just the middle of the week. The longest day of the week. Taylor thought she was going to have to throw herself out the window, her mother was being sooo annoying. Alana kept saying how the colors they had picked for the wedding weren't right, the bridesmaid gowns looked awful, etc., etc. She also kept telling Taylor how AJ wasn't 'the one' for her and all that other crap.
Nick and Brian were playing basketball with Ryan and Tony for the afternoon. AJ had gone out to pick up some lunch. Taylor and Alana were sitting downstairs in the kitchen. Taylor instinctively rolled her eyes as her mother kept going on about how AJ wasn't right for her and crap like that. "Mom! I love him, he loves me, we're getting married in three days, deal with it!"
"Don't yell at me Taylor! I'm telling that he is not right for you!"
"Mom, how would you know?! Would you rather me be with an abusive jerk?"
Alana didn't answer but looked away.
"Mom! I can't believe you! Mark was an alcoholic and beat me every day..I'm sorry, but I was NOT going to stay with someone like that!"
"Thats not what I was saying.."
"Then what were you trying to say?"
"I just don't want to see you end up pregnant and alone..AJ is gone alot.."
"After we get back from our honeymoon, they go on tour for three months, then they're off, then another three month tour..its not that bad!"
"Taylor.."
"Mom..AJ ISN'T DAD!!!"
"I never implied that.."
"Yes you did! You think AJ is going to leave me out on the street just like dad did to you after I was born! AJ isn't like that!"
"Taylor..you don't know that.."
"Yes I do mom. I've known AJ since freshman year in high school, we've been together for over a year now. I think I know him..I know everything about him..he's the sweetest guy in the world..why can't you see that?"
"I just don't want you to get hurt.."
"He won't. Plus, all the other guys are at least two inches taller than him and can beat him down."
"Taylor..I want what's best for you.."
"And AJ is it. Mom, come on, be happy for me..for us.."
"I am dear..I am."
Taylor smiled, "Good.."
"Now, about these colors.."
Taylor rolled her eyes again, "The colors are fine!"
"I don't know.."
"Mom..you don't have to wear them. Don't worry about it!"
"Fine..its your wedding.."
"Thats right..it is."
Later that night, AJ and Taylor were in the backyard sitting by the pool. Everyone else was alseep. Taylor leaned back in the chair she was sitting in. "I can't believe in three days we'll be married..," She said.
"And in Hawaii.."
She grinned, "I can't wait to get a kick ass tan!"
He laughed, "I can't wait till..umm..Saturday night."
She swatted at him playfully and laughed, "All you think about it sex, sex, sex."
"I'm twenty-two years old, I have hormones!"
"You have alot. I think you have enough hormones for three guys!"
"I'll take that as a compliment."
"Okay."
"So..how was your mom today?," He asked sticking his feet in the pool.
"She's convinced you're not the one for me and how you'll leave me high and dry, blah, blah, blah.."
"You..don't believe that, do you?"
"No! I know you're not like that AJ."
"Okay.."
"So..you gonna be home tomorrow?"
"Yep..I have the rest of the week off..my dad is flying in tomorrow too.."
"Cool.."
"Yep.."
"Wanna go inside?"
"Might as well..," He said standing up.
She did the same and they walked into the house and to their bedroom.
