The next day, AJ's birthday, Taylor woke up before him. She showered in the downstairs shower, as not to wake him, and was waiting for the guys to knock on the door so their 'plan' could begin. She heard the knock and ran to the door to let them in. Kevin was holding the video camera, Nick had shaving cream, and Brian, Howie, and Denise were trying to keep from laughing. "Come in..he's still asleep..I was afraid he was gonna wake up right before you all got here.," Taylor said quietly.
They followed her upstairs and into the master bedroom. AJ was lying on his back sound asleep with his arms sprawled across the bed. Brian brought a feather out of his pocket and grinned. "Get the camera ready Kev.."
Denise and Howie stood in the doorway watching everything. Nick sprayed the shaving cream as quietly as he could in AJ's hands. Then, Brian began to tickle AJ with the feather. They all tried to keep from laughing as AJ smeared shaving cream all over him. Taylor waved them away and they stood back. She leaned over him and whispered, "AJ..AJ..wake up.."
Taylor saw him start to move and jumped off the bed. Suddenly, AJ jumped up, "WHAT THE HELL!?!?!"
They started to laugh hysterically. AJ glared at them all, "You all are so dead!"
The others just kept laughing. "It..was..just a..joke AJ!," Taylor said in between laughs.
"Well, ITS NOT FUNNY!," He yelled before going into the bathroom and slamming the door behind him.
"Well..I thought that went well.," Nick said.
Brian laughed and then said, "You all think he's really mad?"
"He seems like it..You all go on downstairs and get everything set up..I'll get him.."
They nodded and left Taylor in the bedroom. She walked over to the bathroom door and knocked on it gently. "AJ..come on out..It was just a joke."
"Yeah..well it wasn't funny.," He said from inside.
Really, AJ knew it was a joke. He was just getting them all back. He held the bottle of shaving cream in his hand, grinning. "AJ...I'm sorry..come on..you did the same thing if I remember correctly when I turned 18.."
"And?"
"AJ..quit being stubborn..I'll give you a present if you come out.."
"What kind of present?"
"Quit being perverted and open the door!"
He grinned, "Okay..you asked for it."
He swung the door open and began to spray the shaving cream on her. "AHHHHHHH!!! ALEXANDER JAMES MCLEAN!!," She screeched.
AJ started to laugh, "You told me to open the door!"
Downstairs, everyone had just started to get comfortable when they heard Taylor screech. They all bolted upstairs and saw Taylor covered in shaving cream and AJ laughing. One by one, everyone else started to laugh, even Taylor. "Well now you're definately not getting my present.," She said going into the bathroom to clean up.
"Oh man!," AJ groaned.
"Did you get that all on tape Kevin?," Denise asked with a smile.
"Yep..sure did.," He said nodding.
Taylor came back out, wearing another pair of clothes and rid of all the shaving cream. She walked past AJ, pretending to be mad, and downstairs. "Oh come on Taylor..I was just getting you back! Taylor! Come on!," He said walking after her.
Taylor walked into the kitchen, a second later AJ came in. "Come on baby..I was just joking around. It is my birthday..," He said.
"So? I can still be mad."
"Taaayyyllloooooorrrr!!!"
"I'm just kidding AJ! Geez!!"
"Good..now, where's my birthday present?," He asked with a grin.
She leaned forward and kissed him gently, "You'll get it later."
He raised his eyebrows, "Oh really?"
"Yep. Go shower.."
"Why? I like the shaving cream look.."
"Just go!"
He laughed and walked upstairs. Once he was gone, the guys, Denise and Taylor all began to set up. Taylor brought out the cake that was in the fridge, Denise pulled a bunch of balloons out of her car and brought them inside. All the guys brought out AJ's presents and things.
AJ walked back down, "Damn..you all work fast."
"Get over here..," Taylor said.
He smiled and sat down, "So..gimme a present!"
They laughed. Denise said, "Quit acting like you're two."
He smiled and took the present she was holding out.
Later that night, AJ and Taylor were sitting out in the backyard watching the stars. "So..did you enjoy your birthday?," She asked leaning back against him.
"Yeah..now, where's my present from you baby?"
"You'll get it later!"
"Come on!"
She laughed, "No."
"Ugh..Taylor..fine."
She smiled, "You know you love me."
"I do..thats why I'm still here."
"Oh thanks."
"No prob.," He said smiling.
"I'm tired..," She said before yawning.
"Awww..poor baby.."
She leaned back against him more and shivered. "You cold?," He asked.
"A little."
He wrapped his arms around her more tightly and then sighed. She looked up at him, "Whats wrong?"
"I don't wanna leave tomorrow.."
"I don't want you to leave either.."
"So, come with me."
"You know I can't. I don't have that much time off anyways and I'd like to save it for the wedding and stuff..Plus, I have to start planning the wedding.."
"I know you can't..but I'd still like it if you could.."
"You're only gonna be gone for a month AJ! Its not like we haven't been away from each other longer.."
"I know..I'm gonna call like every day.."
"Fine..run your phone bill up.," She laughed.
"Stupid promotional tours..I don't wanna go.."
"You have to. It is for your all's third album.."
"I know..what am I gonna say if someone asks about you?"
"I dunno..what do you want to say?"
"The truth.."
"So tell the truth.."
"You don't mind?"
She shook her head, "Not really. Just don't tell them my name or anything like that.."
"K."
"Okay.."
"Baby?"
"Yeah?"
"Where do you wanna go on our honeymoon?"
She shrugged, "I don't know.."
"Well..I was thinking about it the other day annnd, I was thinking we could stay in the beach house my mom got last year in Hawaii.."
"You think she'd let us?"
"Of course!"
"Okay.."
"I mean, its a private beach and its like 15 minutes from a big town."
"That sounds good then.."
He grinned, "Well, thats one part down."
"True..did you know weddings are supposed to have a color scheme?"
"They are?"
"Yep.."
"What color scheme are we gonna have?"
"I have absolutely no clue. But I was looking in one of those bridal magazines your mom got me and I found a really pretty dress for the bridesmaids. Its this really pretty lavendar color."
"Whatever you want.."
"And I was thinking, who's gonna give me away??"
"Mmm.."
"Then I thought my brother, Tony, could do it."
"Okay.."
"And I was also thinking, what are you gonna wear? And I know how you are..you'll want to wear that god forsaken cowboy hat.."
He laughed, "Not for our wedding! I'll wear a tux. I was wondering..can I have four bestmen?"
"I don't think so.."
"Well..I was thinking..Howie could be my bestman, and then Brian, Nick, and Kev could be the groomsmen."
"Okay..I was thinking, Jana could be my maid of honor, and then Alicia, Jane, and Marie could be the bridesmaids.."
"Cool..I think we got it pretty much covered.."
"Yep..I'm gonna get together with them either late this week or next week so we can decide on stuff..plus, I'm gonna have to find a dress soon.."
"Whatever you wear, you'll be gorgeous."
"Aww..that was so sweet AJ.."
"I know, I try."
She laughed and then stood up, "Come on..let's go inside.."
"Do I get my present now?"
"Maybe.," She said before darting into the house.
AJ laughed and ran after her, after locking the back door. He heard her stumble up the stairs and start laughing. He walked over to the stairs and started up. "Are you okay?"
She was still laughing, "Yeah..I'm fine.."
He laughed and then picked her up, "Come my lady.."
She giggled, "Yes sir!"
Once in the bedroom, he kissed her deeply. "Mmm..I could so get used to this..," She murmured.
"I have to make up for the month I'll be gone.," He said before kissing her again.
"Okay..I can deal with that."
