LCHS Marching Band's show this year is from the opera, Carmina Burana!!! The show's songs include: O Fortuna, Amor volat undique/Ecce Gratum, Veni, Veni, Venias, In Trutina, The Drum Break, and O Fortuna(reprise).

Awards!!

The most important awards the band has won so far is: 1st Place at 3 out of the 4 competetions, Best Field Commander at Mclean County(with a score of 97!!!), 3 superiors, and Grand Champion for 1 A and 2 A at Hancock County!! Other awards include: Second Place at Lone Oak, Best Field Commander at Hancock County, Best Percussion at Hancock County, and Best Colorguard at Hancock County, Best Field Commander at Caldwell County, Best Cologuard at Caldwell County, and Second place at Caldwell County!!!! Received 19th Place at State Quarter-Finals.

To all LCHS Band members: Thank you so much for all your hard work this season. You all have gone above and beyond all my expectations as dedicated band members. Please remember how successful this season was for us in this first year being a class 2A marching band.You have made me very proud to be your band director. Know that I care a great deal about each and every one of you and you will always be special to me. If you need anything, don't hesitate to call on me. -Ms. Hunt

I don't know about everyone else out there, but everyone has been telling me, "Better luck next year, y'all had a great year". All I can say is "Thanks". And they are right about one thing, we did have a great year! Think about it. Who would have ever expected us to win 3 out of our 5 competetions, and get second in the 2 we didn't win!!! Who would have thought that Becca would get a 97 and a 95 at the last 2 competetions!!!(We Love You, Becca!!!!!!) Who would have thought that we would beat Lone Oak!!!! The odds were way against us!!! We had a new band director, who, by the way, is very good and I'm positive that we will do better in the future, and we just moved up a class!!!! I know everyone was disappointed to put it mildly. But, remember, we didn't, by no means, have a bad year!!!!!! Thanks for a great year, everyone!!!!!! We really had fun!!!!! -Jordon

Band Members: I know everyone is totally disappointed about not making it to state, but we got to remeber that Lyon County is a great band with alot of talent. Lyon County is known for it's band program. Thanks to Ms. Hunt we went futher than we expected. I remeber when Mr. Wix told us he had another job offer, everyone got down on theirselves, and said things like this; "We'll suck" "Class AA is too hard and we won't win" and negative things like that. But Guess what...Everyone who said that were wrong, totally wrong. We won and we should keep our heads high. I would like to tell all seniors that I will personally miss them with all my heart, and that I wish them the best of luck in all they do. I would do anything to march another show with them. So, everyone remember that even though we didn't make it to semi-finals Lyon County Band is still awesome and have as much talent as any band that made it. There is always next year for those not a senior. ~Kim~
