Well, it's Saturday, April 8, 2000. We just got home from good old Walt Disney World---place of hopes, dreams, kids with their faces aglow, and last but not least, Lyon County Band for the past week.

Now, I know, compared to all of those other things I mentioned, Lyon County Band doesn't seem like all that big of a thing--but believe me! It was. With that said, I thought it would be nice, touching, and downright funny if I did a write-up of our trip. (You can pay me later--make checks payable to Jordon Wadlington) No, my mom isn't making me do this, but I thought that it would be pretty cool if we had a place where we could come and relive those wonderful memories of our Florida trip! Ahhhh....who am I kidding? My page is awful and I thought that this might make more people come, plus I've got a couple of hours to spare, 120 pictures, and a whole bunch of Pepsi, to pull me through those long hours! With that, let us begin the stroll down memory lane with:

Lyon County Band Goes To Florida!

At least that's what those purple bags said...

Where to begin? I guess the obvious place to start is the place it also ended at: Lyon County Jr/Sr High School. 4:30 A.M. It was early, and we all wished we could have been there later! But NO! We had to catch our plane to Florida.

Probably one of the most interesting things that happened on the trip were the walkie talkies Blair brought. Yes, it might sound stupid, but we had hours of fun with those little yellow bundles of joy.

Ahhhh...The Airport: Place of lost baggage, crowded terminals, little kids screaming and peanuts. Most of us had never ever flown before and the thought of going onto a 20 ton piece of steel, 30,000 feet in the air wasn't very appealing. But, hey! I'd flown a hundred times before, and I figured I could scare the living daylights out of all the ones who had never flown before. Hehehehe...my plan to take over the world was coming into focus...

But after we all got over our fears, who could forget that awesome plane trip up there??? I know I couldn't! Sure it was a little bumpy, but it wasn't this guys fault:

In the air anything could happen, thankfully it didn't. Because if it did, just think, the best of Lyon County would be gone! Namely me. For some of us, the plane trip up there was the highlight of the trip. For others, it was their biggest fear. For Cam, it's the only way to travel.

Florida on my mind--or is that Georgia? Either way, after a long haul up there, we finally made it. Florida was graced with the Lyon County Band, even if it was only for 5 short days.

Wet 'n Wild--what can I say? It was a water park, a VERY GOOD water park. Sure, Cam, Trey and I were whooped up on by J.C. in knee-boarding, but who won miniature golf? (For the answer see the picture ABOVE) We all know he cheated, though...

After a long day at the water park and a total of 10 minutes at the hotel, we were all ready to sit down and enjoy a nice, quiet dinner at King Henry's Feast. Yes, that would have been nice. But just think, we would have missed King Henry's Birthday Party, the wonderful food, the fire-breathing, the knife-eating, the lady who did the trapeze stuff, and most of all we would have missed "Jerrell" going up on stage and juggling "SHARP" knives. Who would have wanted to miss that??? BRING ON THE NEXT REMOVE!
