Angel Of Mine

She was young and beautiful too
So much to live for, so much left to do
Ready to fly and leave the nest
To give her heart and all her best
To the man she loved and vowed her life
Ready to live with him as wife

Oh how pretty
Oh how divine
Oh how lovely
Daughter of mine

When she was a babe, she'd laugh and smile
And only fuss for a little while
And as she grew, she'd play and sing
Touching and loving everything
Becoming a woman for all to see
But still that precious baby to me

Watch her grow
Watch her shine
Watch her blossom
Sweet Babe of mine

Before their lives could start anew
The Spanish Army came crashing through
With Cortez gone, there were no rules
So they butchered and slaughtered, the wicked fools
She fell to the ground in a pool of red
Life oozing from her ebony head

Goodbye to love
And life so fine
Goodbye to you
Dear child of mine

And the fighting went on as Cortez returned
Met his fate and in Hell he burned
They ravaged the village and raped the land
Till not a soul was left to stand
Revenge is sweet but it never can be
Enough to bring her back to me

I leave you now
In an earthly shrine
And bid you peace
Angel of mine
