Rainy Weather:

Most people don't like rainy weather, but it is very important to have rainy weather.  Rain does many good things for us.  It waters the plants and helps them to grow.  Those plants feed animals and helps them to grow.  Rain provides us with drinking water and water for other uses as well.

Have you ever seen a rainbow?  That couldn't happen without rain!! This is how a rainbow occurs:  When rain is falling down, the sun shines through the raindrops.  The raindrops are like a prism and that creates the rainbow!  Isn't that neat?

So you see, rain really is a GOOD thing!

Sunny Weather:

Most people do like sunny weather.  Bright days are cheerful days.  There is not a lot of explaining as to how the sun shines.  It simply comes out in the sky and brightens our world.

The sun, like rain, is very helpful to us also.  It gives us light.  It gives us warmth.  The sun is responsible for turning leaves green.  (That is called photosynthesis.)  The sun gives us a healthy tan, but you need to be careful because you are likely to get a sunburn (and that's NOT healthy)!

Windy Weather:

Windy weather can be a real pain, but it also has its advantages.  Wind helps spread the rain around when it is raining.  It is also responsible for spreading seeds around to be buried in the ground and sprout new plants.  That is a very big and important job!  The wind cools us when we get too hot.  The wind helps dry us when we get wet.

Sometimes extremely strong winds can damage the world around us.  An example of this would be a tornado or a hurricane.

Conclusion:

In closing I would like to say that basically there are three ingredients for weather.  They are sun, water (rain, sleet, snow, etc.) and wind.  All of these things make the weather pleasant or not so pleasant.
