And you thought your family had problems. Jane Burnham ( Thora Birch) feels neglected when her dad, Lester (Kevin Spacey), deals with his midlife crisis by lusting after her best friend, Angela ( AMerican Pies, Mena Suvari), While her control-freak mom, Carolyn (Annette Bening), gets it on with a colleague. Soon Jane bonds with next door neighbor Ricky (Wes Bentley), who handles his troubled home life by finding beauty in everything-especially in Jane. With its strong story line and stunning camera work, American beauty is going to be a hilarious comedy.
