1. STUFF

WOW... is what I have to say after one of the most intense weeks of my life.
Our Leadership Camp was fabulous baby. The 4 days without shower and toilet
moved us out of our comfort zone. 40 to 50 pound packs drove our feet into
the steep Rocky Mountain terrain mile after mile. Deodorant would attract
bears so we even avoided that pretense. We were all on common ground. The
walls came down and we got comfortable with each other. We laughed, cried,
played, and prayed together. We shared our emotions in an exercise called
"Life Stories." Thanks for all of you who prayed for our team at Noah's
Ark: Kaycee Smith, Kristen Harper, Aaron Harper, Jessie Myrick, Jenna
Huston, Melissa Aaron, Josh Myrick, Jason Shippley, J.R. Hoefer, Phil
Hoefer, and myself!

2. SOMETHING FOR YOUR HEART

The following story comes from Dr. Howard Hendricks:

Shortly after Dallas Seminary was founded in 1924, the school almost folded
due to financial hardship. Bankruptcy was imminent. In fact, the school's
creditors were ready to foreclose at noon on a particular day. That morning,
the founders of the school met in the president's office to pray that God
would provide.

At that prayer meeting was a man named Harry Ironside. When it was his turn
to pray, Dr. Ironside said simply, "Lord, we know that the cattle on a
thousand hills are Thine. Please sell some of them and send us the money."

Just about that time, a tall Texan dressed in cowboy boots and an
open-collar shirt strolled into the business office. "Howdy!" he said to the
secretary. "I just sold two carloads of cattle over in Fort Worth. I've been
trying to make a business deal go through, but it just won't work. I feel
God wants me to give this money to the seminary. I don't know if you need it
or not, but here's the check."

The secretary took the check and, knowing something of the critical nature
of the hour, went to the door of the prayer meeting and timidly tapped. Dr.
Lewis Sperry Chafer, the founder and president of the school, answered the
door and took the check from her hand. When he looked at the amount, he saw
that it was for the exact sum of the school's debt. Then he recognized the
name on the check as that of the cattleman. Turning to Dr. Ironside, Chafer
said, "Harry, God sold the cattle."

4. FORGETTABLE FACT

An exocannibal eats only enemies; an indocannibal eats only friends.

5. POTENT QUOTABLES

Faith in God is a terrific adventure in the dark.
-Oswald Chambers

Who am I? I am a devout Christian man. I am not a football player. That is
what I do. When I throw a touchdown pass now, my thoughts are on how can I
use this success on the field as a platform to glorify and praise my Lord
Jesus Christ. People often ask the secret of my success as a football
player. It has nothing to do with how I work out in the off-season, or my
diet. The secret of my success is simply Jesus Christ.
-Kurt Warner, St. Louis Rams quarterback

Without courage, all other virtues lose their meaning.
-Winston Churchill
