WAKE UP CALL
Our world
seemed so safe
and Mother Protector
Guardian of Justice
lay sleeping late
complacent
disregarding those
who profess the desire
to destroy Her.
The wake-up call
resounded
at first unbelieved.
Who
could truly hate
so utterly
completely
act
without compunction
with no remorse
without bounds?
In the name
of a God
the blow was struck
so fatal
for so many
of Her innocents
and
for a few brief moments
She reeled
visibly shaken,
the wakeup call
just a nightmare
surely.
But reality
sank in
fathomless sorrow
replaced
by determination
as She staggered
to Her feet
Her lust for revenge
consuming Her
regardless of the cost
for Justice
in this case
was indeed made blind.
