to tell you Mom
just what you mean to me.
We've been through hard times
and some good
but I must make you see.
I'm so damned proud
of what you are
what you did
with what you had.
To think you wouldn't
feel my pride
would truly make me sad.
My modest words
can ne'er repay you
for your acts of love
but emulation of those deeds
you'll witness from above.
