LAMENT II
Despair
hopelessness
reared angry heads
suicide loomed real
so inviting
yet never really an option
one young obligation
saving him.
But that Angel
that fit
that light
was appreciated
and man grew
to love woman
perhaps too late.
Regret
for sorrow caused
compassion
for her many pains
overwhelming grief
for her
for him
for loss of a love
the timing bad
the memory forever
of the one
that got away.
