Have you been blinded
on the road to Damascus?
Have you witnessed
a burning bush?
Have you seen
the waters parted?
Has God talked to you
personally?
Not I
But something
keeps me doing
those next right things
keeps my conscience clear.
Makes me strive
to be
ever better a person.
To teach my children
right and wrong.
I really don't think
He intended
for us to know.
What kind of test
would that be?
With an angry God
standing looking
over our shoulder,
threatening
boding.
No
I believe
He intended
for us rather
to have faith
in Him.
To do right
because it is right.
Some religions
may say I'm damned.
and I'm sorry for that.
But I won't claim
to know what I don't.
I'll keep my faith
and see what comes.
